I hate it.

But I guess this is what we get if all our forwards are amazing, and all our midfielders are average at most. It creates ideas that are doomed to fail.

The best would be to bench the amazing orwards and play with four actual midfielders. I know, it feels wrong to start Nocerino, Boateng, Aquilani and Van Bommel all over for example Pato and Robinho. But well, if Milan only wants to spend for class in attack, and being cheap in midfield...

And lol, next season when we have Robinho, Cassano, Pato, Tevez, and Ibrahimovic. Two should start, two on bench, and one not even on the bench. ...or I guess one will leave then?

I think that a coach should consider the players he has before his favourite system. Having 4 world class forwards (maybe 5 when Cassano returns) would force Allegri to accommodate 3 of them in the starting line-up. It's pointless to pay 10 mils per year for 2 subs no matter how good they are.

Think merkel does about as much defensive work as nocerino

Defensively it's interesting-

Last year Merkel- 2.3 tackles, 0.5 intercepts a game
This year (genoa)- 1.8 tackles, 1.0 interceptions

Nocerino- 1.6 tackles, 0.8 interceptions

It's definitely worth experimenting with both Merkel and Aquilani together. Probably is too lightweight, but i'd like to see it. Would hold better posession.

I agree, I'd try it. If you think Merkel is too lightweight, what about Emmanuelson? and Also, Nocerino is like 5'6, he's borderline midget, and skinny. He's not at least well built like Gattuso, short and stocky and strong. This is why he loses many 50/50 balls

The game against Palermo with the Trident up top was unreal. Everyone was moving and shaking and the Palermo defense didn't know what the fuck was going on. We could play with (3) bully midfielders if we use that trident up top. This is *sort of* what Napoli does. Their trident up top and 7 defenders. Sometimes Inler, and their Wings join the attack, but the trident often does the work on their own, and the rest is organized.

I disagree about Boateng, have you not seen him this seaon hes been imense, hes actually added pace into our midfield...something not seen for many years, hes actually fromed into one of the best CM in Europe as for Nesta hes still amazing, yeah he may not have the pace but his timing and movement are still brilliant, only Silva, Lucio and maybe Vidic are ahead of him, he proved that especially in the games against Barca (1st leg mainly) where he was amazing.
Also Abate, I think hes a top RB although he hasnt done anything brilliant this season, hes been decent, I see no reason to want him off the team. And Robinho its tough on one hand on his day hes a World beater but when hes having an off day theres not many players worse, I wouldnt say hed be a sub at every top team, at Man Utd, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter, Arsenal id say he would be on the 1st team. Hes talented especailly if he played as well as he did last season id defo have him on the first team even when Cassano is back.

As for signing Hummels, Jovetic, Chielini, Maggio and Hamsik well we have to be more realistic, 1: replacing half the team and expecting them to jell and play well together is extreamly difficult and 2: I highly doubt that Napoli would be willing to sell 2 of the best players including the star man to another Serie A side and Juventus wouldnt sell Chelini to there main rivals.

Signings we should make are Handanovic (I agree with that), P.Lahm and M.Sissoko, they would fill the 3 gaps in our team.

Antonini will not be let go. He is useful when it comes to the CL quota

Regardless, we should look to bring one of Vila or De Vito back. Both are having decent seasons and it is worth a shot, especially considering I have zero hopes of management taking the need for a proper LB seriously....

Vila (as a defender) gives the ball away more than EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in the league aside from one (who is a striker), this season.

Can you elaborate on how he is playing well? To me, based on that fact alone, it sounds like a terrible year. A defender leading that need not return here.
