Why is this a genius formation? Because it utilizes defenders as pseudo-midfielders and midfielders as pseudo-forwards.

Why is there no DM in the lineup? Because the strong 4-men defense in the centre simply pushes up to be the defensive midfield, and creates multiple lines of 2-2 when the need arises.

What is the need for dual FBs on either side? This almost completely prevents the opponents' wingers from being effective, as well as creates situations of 2 vs 1 in the wing at every instant. Fundamentally, Di Sciglio and Antonini will defend while Abate and Vila will attack.

What are the roles of the two CMs? Both Montolivo and Boateng will play simple passes to the flying wingbacks and to the forwards. They do not need to worry about defensive duties at all, as the 4 defenders in the middle will always be pushing up and breaking down play.

What will be won with this lineup? Scudetto, Coppa Italia, Champions League.

Your squad of 23 will require 12 defenders and 3 goalkeepers, and only 8 offensive players. Since the market for offensive players are significantly more expensive, Milan's total transfer budget and wage bill will come down by investing more on defensive players.

Let us move to the 6-2-2 and usher in a happy era of FFP.

Any Tottenham midfielder (Van der Vaart, Modric, Bale, perhaps even Sandro) would be a starter for us. I can't imagine Galliani is serious that our market is closed.

We don't have the funds but this team is in serious need of a quality injection in midfield.
