Nowadays, getting a good defender is not easy, let alone during the winter transfer window. The only defender who has been linked to us recently that may (or may not) be a clear improvement to our current CBs is Vidic. He too is old and injury prone and has a contract expiring in June which makes it unlikely that Galliani will sign him now. So yes, it does seem unlikey that we will sign any useful CBs in this window.

The fullback department also looks set for the season.

Cerci + marchetti + vidic.
Sell robinho, mexes, zaccardo

Now that would be a big bang

not that big!
messi , pogba and ts33 back would be a big bang.
enough is enough with :g: fans.he made you believe ACM is a mid table team because he is mediocre .
once and for all, ACM is the most succesful club in the world and second most successful in italy and CL.so we should aim only for the best!!

sack ;g: bring a top ceo with real managing ability (cortese or whoever is top of the world right now ) and forget this shittty period with begging and free deals.
zero tolerance !!!!!!!:star::star::star::star:

This mentality needs to stop or we'll be an average side for a lot longer than intended. We need less quantity of good players being brought in and more quality but fewer buys. Honestly, I know people are really down on our team but it's not that far off at all... about 2 quality (and actually quality signings) would make this team able to battle on all fronts again. We have a crapton of good players (not great) and a mix of youth and experience, we literally just need a top class player or two to change the game for us.

U r spot on mate, we just need a couple of star players to help us compete with the likes of bar a and city etc, preferably a WC cb and a star midfield maestro. Since we are cash strapped, i thought it would be useful to sign players who fit our system and allow us to function as a team in both the attacking and defensive phases of the game. We had a loaded team in the 2010- 2012 period, but during ibra's second year we were pipped by jube to the title albeit by cheating or whatever you want to call it. Although we technically gave them the scudetto, they still deserve credit for being resurgent and working well as a unit. I would like to see milan compete with jube by functioning well as a unit and for that to work effectively we just need the right players who fit seedorf's current system. Bibaiany and taarbat seem fine to me for a 4 2 3 1 although i personally prefer cerci.

But what really others me is our scouting system. Surely a team as big as milan should have a proper scouting network, wtf are they getting paid for then. U r scouting for milan ffs not lazio.

2 days left:

- zaccardo, mexes, amelia/gabriel, constant still here despite saying we will be getting rid of them for a month now… and the two fodders we got rid of - nocerino & matri - both left on a fucking free loan.

- no indication that we are signing any WC player

- for like the umpteenth mercato - we have not spent money.

milanistas are rightfully growing impatient with this strategy by Galliani… even though Berlusconi is the one who isn't putting in the funds, Galliani is the one who is not getting rid of these players.. he could easily rescind their contracts, but however he sees them as assets that can be traceable for other assets (like the antonini - birsa deal)

We are not getting a wc player this season, forget about it. Even if we do, he would be cup tied, so berlu sees no point in spending big this season.

Who is going to be this mercato's 500k Nocerino-like purchase for Milan at the final hour of the transfer window?

Is Boki still available? We can never be short of Attacking Mids.

That doesn't really make sense. Everybody knows that we won't win the CL even if set world class player would joins us, but buying a world class player now might give us a 3rd spot or at least a EL spot.

People don't really realise apparently how important is for Milan to be in Europe. If we finish outside Europe the players we will sign next summer will be able to demand more in wage demands, they will have the upper hand in negotiations and our wage bill is already fucked enough as it is.

And speaking off, whats even worse is that the idiots in charge continue to add to that bill with more fodder.

Neither Taabart or Biabiany can improve the first 11, and that's what we need. We have enough squad players, 3/4 of our 1st 11 is made of squad players ffs.

You mean rest of them are milan quality starters?:

Too many to name :D
The player that Biabiany is most similar to is Theo Walcott - in terms of pace and techincal prowess, even if not the exact position on the pitch. However, Biabiany's attacking movement and finishing are not as good as Walcott's and hence he tends to play a little deeper. He is not much of a crosser either. So ultimately all his pace becomes rather useless in terms of end product. Think of a less effective Walcott who is also a year older.

On the plus side, he could outrun just about anyone in Serie A, if that counts for anything.

so can Abate !

I don't think Abate can outrun Biabiany, tbh. :D

But the point was that Biabiany offers very little to the team apart from pace.

Some of our starters moving to the bench will open up enough space in the starting lineup for any new quality players that may arrive.

Kaka, Rami/Zapata, etc. are good enough to be bench players at a team challenging for the Scudetto and perhaps the CL. It is the players with even less quality like Bonera that need to leave the club, replaced on the bench by someone like a Kaka or a Rami/Zapata.

@MilanEye: Torino want €25m for Cerci, and looking to extend his contract which ends in Summer, 2015. (Milan reportedly interested)

So... Still after cerci???
