30 million for Savic is crazy little, you really don't have to think about it and leave Díaz in Madrid.

But, and it's a big but, Manchester United, Newcastle United and some others will surely pay €8-10 million net salary for Savic and a fat signing fee.

Asensio , Kamada , SMS & Thuram would be a near perfect mercato.
You really like Thuram, don't you? Have you seen him play regularly?

We have one advantage is that SMS reportedly wants to remain in Italy. Assuming those rumours are true, it works to our advantage

Problem is Pioli likes Diaz too much. And he is gonna convince Maldini too make the deal

Out of those 4, SMS is a pipe dream. I don’t believe those rumors. Would be a pleasant surprise but I don’t believe we’re going for him.

I dont believe it either.
Better teams will go for him.
I would plant him as our anchor because that my personal favorite position.

Asesnsio is literally Suso 2.0.
Rocket left foot and scores bangers at a higher frequency and consistency than Suso.
His injury has taken the pace off and killed his hopes of becoming super elite. But given a dearth of WC RWs, he could be an option. Atleast teams can't double mark Leao and leave RW unattended.

He's not on the growth decree unfortunately. That's a big negative for him. 4.5 net would be over 8m gross, which would bring him close to what we're paying Leao now.
Bakayoko + Dest gross salary = SMS

We can afford it tbh, fixes our weakest position by far too

maybe we want Openda to replace Rebic and Gimenez to replace Zlatan/Origi

the idea of an Origi/Scamacca swap makes sense to me but hard to imagine Openda, Gimenez and Scamacca all arriving together

I think the time is right for SMS

He’s a bit old news now I think. Not really the big new shiny toy they want. I really hope we can snatch him.

I’d be in favour of signing Kamada for free (and saving 20m+ on redeeming Brahim) IF that money was put towards SMS.

When teams sit back, you need a big CF to do the dirty work and force things. MANY teams in Serie A sit back and stifle the forwards. We need a big young CF with or without Openda. Openda + Thuram/Scammaca would put me more at ease. Just in case this Openda, small-forward-experiment doesn’t work.

I think to score against such teams it's more useful to have some players who are good at long distance striking like how Kaka was. Kamada seems decent at long distance striking. Someone like SMS would also be useful against low block teams. Having some big players is definitely useful. I don't know if it has to be the striker that has to be big. Also you need players that are good at passing the ball around near the opponents box to open them.

Is there some data or stats to show to show the effectiveness of big strikers versus smaller strikers against defensive teams? Or is this something that some people just have a feeling about? Hasn't Dybala been scoring a big amount of goals against all sorts of teams despite being a midget?!

We would improve dramatically if we signed SMS for 35M and Kamada. Wouldn’t need my beloved lil’ Brahim anymore and we could send one or both of Adli and CDK out on loan. CDK would do really well in Ligue 2, maybe 3.

That would leave us with the following needs if we stick to the 4231: Starters at CF, RW, and DM. Arguably, RB needs a starting upgrade IMO.

The squad depth needs to be improved as well and we need to get rid of Origi, Ibra, Messias, Bakayoko, Florenzi, etc.

Unfortunately, you can’t turn over 10+ positions in a summer, which is why the failure of last summer will continue to haunt us for a bit.

The thing is we have so much space from all the expenses we cut that we should be able to bring several free signings in to fill as many gaps as possible. There is good talent to be had if for nothing else quality depth.

Was low-key hoping we could sign him for free. We were linked to him last month. Can play LW or RW equally well. Leao style of dribbling and wouldn’t have asked for high wages. Anyway…

Fuck that, he has been a an awesome member of the squad and has actually delivered a lot for Milan in key moments. Not how we should treat our players.

Asensio isn’t my favourite but he has goals in him… definitely a better RW for Milan than Diaz & Messias

Reminds me of Callejon is the sense that people underrate him a bit (he does have his limitation tho, just like Callejon did)

—————

Good young 20-30m CF to rotate with

Leao - Kamada or SMS - Asensio

That’s already so much more solid; can’t think of the same w Diaz in the line up

Yeah but he’s not worth spending 20m+ on…I’d rather get SMS + Kamada for 35m combined instead.

Apparently Hojlund is valued at 65m by Atalanta so forget him…no way we’ll spend that sort of money on a single player after De Flopalaere.

Messias set to start tomorrow. Just like the last few games.

For someone who’s supposedly going to be sold this summer, it sure doesn’t look like it. :yikes:
