Every penny we pinched that we argued over was because we thought that there was plan in place to get us back where he had been before. So I will ask again - who do you believe about any project that Milan currently has - is it the guy that doesnt know about our history, whose claim to fame is working with successful brands that independently spend a lot of money, who hasnt been able to raise any for us as yet and also still has much debt hanging over him - cant really trust that, never did. Many gave him a pass last summer but nobody is giving him anything again.

The first time we falter he is going to get destroyed from every section and I'm not sure most of this group will be able to withstand it. Curva already sounded him out, they are going to have to be really shrewd in how they choose their tact to not unsettle the players.

I get everything you’re saying. I don’t know man. I don’t know what is their plan. I don’t know how this will work out. All I have is hope. I just HOPE it can because I love this club and I want it so well irrespective of who runs it.

Successful businesses have smooth transitions. They orchestrate this, they take months or even years to do it--and this fantasy world of "ruthlessness" is a waste of time and resources of your best executives.

Your most volatile and important assets are your players in this instance, and you're fucking with the guy who sold them a project that they are a big part of.

This isn't about classy or not classy, this is about risk management. It honestly might be cheaper to give Maldini an extra 40m to shut the fuck up and run it back another year, rather than create this level of turmoil around your team.

If he fails again, then you can cut him loose.

I think this is bad business. There is a huge value to stability.

Moncada who scouted these players is still in place, if Pioli remains there is a sufficient amount of stability.

You also cannot value stability ahead of success or what your vision of success is. They spent close to $1B on this club didn’t they? They have more objectively invested than anyone, they will give this a run their own way. They need to win.

Im astonished at some of the reactions in here. In case anyone has missed the bigger picture:

1. Maldini and Massara rescued a sinking ship and got it sailing again
2. Maldini has shown in the past that he is nobodys yes man and will only work for a club where trophies are an objective.
3. To that end, Maldini and even the tifosi have made it clear that proper funds are required for player recruitment. The bullshit narrative about it being a business - The best firms go after the best people and pay them well.
4. If Maldini is out, its a clear sign that Cardinale is not going to invest the way Maldini and we all want. There's zero evidence or anything to suggest otherwise. Rather our mercato budget is rumoured to be less than the budget of the big clubs for 1 player.
5. If anyone thinks Maldini going out today is a good thing, reply back to this post so you can be shown to be on the wrong sidr of history in time. I've seen some dark days - Losing to Marseille and Ajax in the CL final, losing to Deportivo and Liverpool, all those years of obscurity when Juve and Inter were winning. None of them compare to this. There is no way back from this.
