The saddest part is the way Maldini has been fired. Maldini deserved a lot better. So in a way, even if I was on the side of firing him, at this point it's probably good he's staying. I know we think of Maldini as "the glue" and I' not saying he wasn't as he was there in Milanello every day....but at the end of the day the players (always) have a better relationship with the manager. A lot of them have shown great respect for Maldini, but also for Pioli. So yea, in the current predicament, Pioli staying may be the difference between receiving 5 transfer requests and none.

Lastly, gerry is a piece of shit for the way he's handled this. If his and Maldini's visions didn't align, it's his right to make a move. Only time will tell if he's right. But my point is, Maldini deserved more respect than this. They could have come to some kind of mutual agreement and announce this thing together. In a civil way. Not this bullshit that's caused chaos.

With that being said, it'll take some time, but facts will come out for sure. And maybe it was Maldini that didn't want the "civil break up" after all. We know Maldini stands for what he believes in, so this meeting going sideways could have also been on him.

One thing is true. Gerry went into the meeting to break up the relationship with Maldini. From that point on, how things transpired and who wanted a mutual agreement to separate and who wanted to just leave that room on the current terms, remains to be seen.
