Great post, and fair takes
What's the riskier or the easier route is very difficult to forsee tho IMO. I liked the Kamada and RLC links especially on favorable terms or even for free. I'm not a huge fan tho of names like Arnautovic, Berardi or Zaniolo. I've never been a fan of overpaying for CDK. Maldinis idea of how to operate might be faster if you guess the right moves, but it has the potential to backfire more greatly if you don't, which this season almost ended with us falling out of CL. There's probably no right or wrong, only hindsight.
(Admitted tho that this last part is a very delicate point where Piolis missmanagement of great stretches of 2023 played into it too.)
I guess I kinda fancy the idea of giving Moncada a bigger say. I wished Maldini would have leaned more into that idea too. For me, peak Milan was 2021/2022 under Gazidis, where from the outside there seemed to be much more of a team effort than now. But that's only my very limited POV from the outside. I honestly fully buy the Maldini-Pioli-frictions tho, and after the power struggle of last summer something seemed unrepearably broken throughout this season anyway. The divorce was written on the walls. The style it went down is highly debatable, allthough I'd argue it hasn't changed much since Elliott took over. We've seen those cold heart press releases when Leonardo left and when Boban was sacked. The reason people probably remind it slightly different today is because we went on improving and winning trophies, so in hindsight everything gets a more positive painting. This will be no different this time -
if we improve and win. Otherwise...
