Ndicka at 4m/year contract is really overrated, and costs 26,2m euro in total. In comparison, Thiaw with a 8,5 mil transfer fee only costs around 14mil euro. Also keep in mind that if Thiaw would have flopped, he is easy to sell, as his salary is 800k, perfectly affordable for even smaller sides. If Ndicka flops, you have to pray for a premtard club to save your bad investment, otherwise you are in a really tricky situation. For top5 midtable clubs not in premier league, he is too expensive, and turkish league clubs are not attractive for the player, so he will just decline the offers, and become a parasite in the team, similar to the Origi situation.

For 2-2,5mil euro, he would have been worth a gamble, although we not necessarily need him, as we are set in defense. For 4m euro contract, I hope he signs for Roma, and flops there really hard. He seemed like a money whore player last year anyway, when rumours emerged that we are interested in him, and he basicly told Maldini that he will leave Frankfurt for free this summer.

You might make the case that CDK is the symbol of the Paolo regime but I think that's super harsh and overlooks the good that he's done.
Unfortunately I'm not Gerry and Gerry has his own ideas on how the place should run.

That said there are so many contradictory thoughts floating around in my head that I don't comment much because I don't know jack shit about the real behind-the-scenes stories. Did Paolo really want fucking P!rl0? Was he really going to collect the likes of Berardi and Arnautovic?
And before we judge Paolo on these mediocre acquisitions, it's important to see who Gerry's boys get.
If it's more dustbin diving then surely anyone who is fair would acknowledge that

1) Pioli has shown worrying traits (that said P!rl0 ain't the answer Paolo c'mon ) that don't seem to be improving
2) I would happily take a semi functional player like Arnautovic over Origi and probably even Giroud. Arnautovic at least has some speed
3) Berardi would massively improve the right wing

I'm afraid we'll only know if we're heading in a good direction on September 1st 2023
