Why we still looking for a CB?

I get it if "an opportunity shows up" but to spend 30-40M in a winter mercato for a position that we're now fully capable of solving internally?

Do we really need to spend 30-40M on another CB?

Kjær is done, should only play situationally against battering ram type matchups. Simic and Pellegrino only as substitute or against lower table sides. That leaves just Theo and Gabbia.

We are never spending 30-40m, the offer is like 15m + Colombo and id guess offer for Brassier is around 10m and they probably want 15. If we do get BG, he would be a nice Italian asset who’s capable of being thrown in right away. And if you put Colombo on the market I doubt we’d get any offers for even 10m let alone 15.

So, we aren’t looking to spend, just trying to capitalize on market opportunities for a spot that we need help in. And it’s always more realistic to get a CB than a good CF in January. Doesn’t look like we are looking for a pure DM either

Nah it was bad - Golden Ball player failing nearly every match day to look like he was better than the trash competition and many times failing to take easy goals.

Tomori and Thiaw are our starter CBs. With a normal injury situation (bioli out) next season, Kalulu, Simic, Gabbia and Pellegrino should be fine. A great CB would have to accept fighting Tomori for XI. Would a 35M player do that?

If the offer of 15M + Colombo was what this was about, he would've already signed.
He is not coming for anything less than a total value of 35M. That is at least 25M + Colombo.

I only play if the rewards are for a chance at a player I may want to get.

The game is definitely just geared for those chasing players (mostly legendary and iconic past players). If you must have a Kaka or Van Basten you can sink serious money into the game but if you like playing with current players you dont have to spend a dime. I think the only angle missing are dream up and coming players with great stats. They did a throwback Santos Neymar for free and I think if they do fantasy projected players like a Endrick or Sesko etc they could make even more.

But yes, without ML I dont play that much.
Which is a good thing because The Finals and Baldur's Gate 3 is where I'm spending far too much time

He is still our player so he should watch his mouth, if we sold him outright it is whatever, but talking like that after playing a crap season is not ok. That public behavior towards the employer wouldn't be welcome in any job.
