Just that this is not from “you”

I reckon you, at least one version of you, would e-strangle anyone with that kind of gloomy sentiment of the state and direction of the team/club.
I've been pretty sullen for a while now.

But I'm a results guy, so that's not so strange.

Zhang is to remain at the helm of the club by obtaining a renewal of the loan from Oaktree or another fund, the president is willing to do so even at an exorbitant interest rate of 25-27%: the consequences would be all at Inter's expense - CDS

Fair play to Marotta I don't know how he puts up with this shit
Please be true...

The whole point of that post was to indicate how Rafael Niang would drop the ball against obscure opposition, whether they be from Kazakhstan or Georgia. Location was the least important thing. Keep supporting the bum though.
People shit on Pioli for not coming up with a plan B.

What has Leao worked on for when his plan A doesn’t work? Close dribbling? Finishing? Better concentration passing in the final 3rd?

Leao is Pioli’s plan A.
A manager who relies so heavily on one player should do better to set said player up in favourable situations. Instead Leao receives the ball at the half way line as is expected to run half the pitch and then bury his shot. I’m absolutely confident he’ll explode under a different manager

What baffles me even more is how much admiration and praise Marotta gets from the very same people who call out our current management for doing the same thing with Tonali last summer. It's a pure stroke of genius when he does it, but somehow not when we do it.
name a successful sale/plusvalenza outside of tonali from the past few years
then we'll compare moratta to redbird
I already know what those people will reply now. Inter is 1st, 9 points ahead of us, case closed. Though I'd argue give them the injury crisis we had and we'll see. IMO, the problem this season has pretty obviously not been squad building but the person who was supposed to coach them (and thus prevent such injuries).
our injuries are of our own making
"give them the injury crisis we had", why? are they playing on a different planet? they have the same schedule/terms as we do, they just use their squad better.
why did inzaghi filled a squad of reserves in a ucl match? because he knew he could scrap out a draw that would suffice them.
while we need to field our strongest 11 until matchday 6 of ucl group stage and still qualify only for europa league during the last 15 minutes.

"but pioli is at fault!"
nah, the fault relies on the CEO, be it gerry, moncada or furlani.
neglecting redbird's part for "pioli's fault" while simultaneously laughing at maldini for getting fired and extending pioli, yikes.
double standard at its worst.

"but inter had an easy draw!"

It annoys me of how much of a fuckin afterthought we are in mainstream sports media....but then of course Pioli isn't helping us to become the team you can't ignore 🙄
a 5th place serie a team/europa league club should then be at the forefront of mainstream media?

And the times he does get lazy, slack off, and lose the ball, even though it’s bad optics, he at least runs back and football tackles to make sure that danger doesn’t spread
meanwhile our superstar:

Gazzetta and Longo write we want Lenglet on loan and we want Barcelona to pay most of his salary then Kelly for free in June
I think if its true and Kelly will come he will take the place of Kjaer.

Squad 2024/2025

GK: Maignan/Sportiello
CB: Tomori/Thiaw/Kalulu/Kelly?
LB: Hernandez/Miranda?
RB: Calabria/Florenzi
DM: Bennacer/Adli or New
CM: Rejinders/Loftus-Cheek/Musah/Pobega
LW: Leao/Okafor
RW: Pulisic/Chukwueze
CF: Guirassy?/Giroud

What do you think about that?

I feel that part of this is Leao having an on/off switch when he’s playing… and it’s generally only “on” when he has the ball at his feet. With his athletic gifts, just some more off the ball activity would pay huge dividends.

We all were drooling about what Leao would do this season with more space opened up by a more balanced attack. I was assuming 40 goal contributions (goals and assists) were doable; but, it’s not working out that way. He has had more space; but, he seems to still only come alive when the attack is going through him… which is happening less often this season.

Speaking of espn

I hate media making Pulisic the face of the club. Note that I love the kid. Used properly, he’s good for 15 to 20 goal contributions across all competitions, moments of pure magic, and is always a hard worker. That looks to be what we’re getting from him, and he was a steal for 20m Euros.

BUT, he’s the type of guy you definitely want in the team - maybe even a star, but not the guy you build a team like AC Milan around. He’s basically a step off from world class. If we finish up with him being our star, we probably haven’t done well enough this season

Pls don't be a homo
We are third in Serie A
We are the 2 nd most CL winner

Pls tell me how that's less relevant than either Newcastle or P$G

My self loathing is reserved for this forum among friends. Among outsiders we should fly the red and black :o

Missing my point. I'm comparing squad building. I genuinely believe our squad is on par with Inter's. It was until injury crisis hit us massively. That's where my argument with "give them our injury crisis" is coming from.

It's also reflected in how we can go back and look a time-frame of 2,5 years and se how both clubs collected almost the exact same amount of points in Serie A despite us loosing almost all direct duels during that time (I blame those losses on Pioli, clearly).

"but pioli is at fault!"
nah, the fault relies on the CEO, be it gerry, moncada or furlani.

Speaking of double standards... How about cursing at RedBird and Gerry every possible way for not firing Pioli since "Maldini wanted to get rid of Pioli he was clearly thinking ahead of them" and then finding out Maldini would've actually continued with Pioli too? Suddenly, we're silent about that it seems...

... Unless we need something new to critisize RedBird for, like... the injuries?

C'mon, give me a break.

The classic: Pot 1 opponents are strong unless we play them and win. That's when they become Pot 2 opponents. Got it.

Also: I never said they had an easy draw last year? Heck, I even made a post some days ago how them progressing out of their group of death when Inzaghi seemed this close to being sacked revived their entire season and how I hoped winning against Dortmund (before the home game) could have the same impact on our season.

Well... Things didn't go as hoped.

Also also: I'm probably one of the last Pioli supporters in here, I'm actually caught a bit at surprise you're calling me out for not defending him on the injury issue because usually people call me out for holding on him for this long

It's apt but to be fair to Rafa this one time, he probably shouldn't have even played and he avoided further injury - sadly his finishing isn't improving, just making better decisions would leave him with easier shots

PSG has arguably the best player in the world.
Newcastle...... yeah I got nothing.

I'm glad when we aren't mentioned because it's usually very cringe and I prefer silence to that.
