Agreed. But even with that incredible success rate at replacing players for a profit and at times
better performance… they’re still losing a shit load of money. They made 100m+ profit from player sales last summer. They made It to a CL final… and still lost 80m.
They are fucked no matter how you look at it. Marotta keeping them successful on the pitch, but any credible look at what’s happening shows a huge unmitigated crisis that is unsolvable without a sale, and that’s getting harder every year with the debt piling up and now with the new interest rate.
Their only and best option was default to Oaktree, but thankfully it looks like Zhang will keep holding on for longer, not sure why.
Barella for Zielinski is potentially a great move. Let’s see if they need to sacrifice anyone else.
