What interesting to me is that they're still finding ways to win. We can discuss their vs our finances all day, but on the field they've owned us for years now.

And why are they living dangerously now, that their squad costs and losses are considerably lower than when they were losing ~250 per year. They didn't go down then, why do you guys think they will go down now?
They lucked out on Marotta, but Marotta's contract with them ends 2027, after which he's going to do football philanthropy with Italy's youth.
Who are they going to bring in after that to wheel and deal those beautiful transfers?

Those annual losses are the reason why they're still losing 80m a year even AFTER they've reduced their squad costs significantly and reached a CL final. Look at the sheets I posted, there's really not that big of a difference in the squad costs between us, it's just around 20 or 30m. Their revenue is even higher than ours. What happens once we have San Donato and they're still at San Siro?

You're ignoring the growth in their revenues once again. Winning on the field makes you more money.
You keep on insisting they had a growth in revenues, where are the numbers? A
And how much of that is tied to UCL prize money?
Honestly I can't wait to see their numbers after this season.
They make for a really interesting test case.

Their revenue growth has been steady, but nothing too amazing.

I don’t think Klopp underachieved mind you but considering how people argue here, maybe they think he did, even if he won another EPL title cause he ‘only’ won one CL

It really is those three years where they had CL money and we didn't that made them jump ahead of us. We're finally caught up.

Another great SD. And after their coach? Another great coach? Why would it be any different?

You're comparing a club that been in CL almost every year to a club that just started regular participation after years of missing out?

Look at the charts above for growth in revenues.

Look at the charts above for growth in revenues.
Their earnings from matchday has plateaued, no way to fit any more fans into the stadium even if they wanted to.
Broadcasting revenues will go down next year because of the new TV deal in place until 2029 or something stupid like that.
This deal represents a 2.95% decrease in overall revenue over the current deal we have in place.
So the only thing that "can" grow is Commercial.
Yet even on their best UCL results year last season Commercial revenues shrunk.

Cardishit do not piss me off wtf
The only one I recognize is Galtier who beat PSG to the league with a Maignan-led Lille.
Who are those other shitters and what have they won in their lives?

Matchday revenues aren't as much about how many fans you fit but how many games you play. Further in CL, further in the cup.

Also, you're quoting domestic TV rights only.

Commercial revenues shrunk due to the bankruptcy of their shirt sponsor.

And even after all that, they are still about to win Serie A and refinanced their loan.

If Bologna lose to Roma they may put themselves in some hot water for that last CL spot. Roma would be 1 point back & still has those last 20 minutes vs Udinese to play and Atalanta has a game in hand.

Nobody will pay 20m for Mkhitaryan. He's 35.

As for Thuram going for 60, that's also fantasy. Remember he was available for free just a year ago and not many clubs took the bait (other than us and Inter). Sure, they can probably flip him for some cash now, but it's easier said than done. And no way it'll be 50. I highly doubt it can be anything more than half of that.

Anyway, this Inter in "financial ruin" conversation is getting really old. Yea, they are in debt, making losses, etc, etc. But they're winning a title. We keep waiting for them to fall back into a banter era and each year they don't. So who cares to be honest. Maybe what they are doing is a very short term plan. Maybe it'll bite them in the ass in a few years. But, maybe they'll figure it out and keep trucking along.

I really do think that with a new stadium and with the steps we are taking, in about 5 years we should be far and away ahead of the rest of Italy in terms of revenue...and with that in terms of being able to invest. But that still doesn't mean that Inter will disappear. They could easily kick the can down the road for another 5+ years and keep having success on the field. In the end, that's what it's all about. Can you win titles. And our "accounting scudetto" doesn't guarantee that.
Agreed with the sentiment that this conversation is too old, those are just first 2 names jumped out as an example. We care too much about inter and their finances, each to their own way of coping the inevitable loss tomorrow i guess.

After Pioli's press conference today & if Milan lose tommorow, they should embarrass him and just sack him now. Just give the team to Bonera to finish it out.

Let's not talk about Pioli, few care about what Pioli feels and does, they care about tomorrow's Milan. -Stefano Pioli

Man he sound depressed.
Since the end of last year, he seems like he’s already checked out….just waiting for the season to end.

Further in the CL, the more you earn. So a round of 16 exit means 50M less in revenues this season off the bat compared to last year.
I'm quoting numbers that brk presented and you vetted.

Commercial revenues shrunk due to shirt sponsor bankruptcy, how much were they suppose to get from them? Answer 25M per year.
They recouped a bit of that from the last minute Paramount deal that earned them 10M for two games. A net loss of 15M only last year. Not as big of an impact as you think it is.
Paramount sponsoring them now is 20M per year. That's a net annual loss of sponsorship of 5M.

So they're earning less in sponsorships coming into this year and have lost 50M in UCL prize money. :taphead:

Good thing the Club World Cup is 50m guaranteed money then.

Yes, that money is recorded in 2024/25, not 2023/24.
Money is recorded when earned.
It's not earned money yet.
Sorry but the 50M loss in UCL revenue doesn't get offset just yet this year.

The well-known journalist Carlo Pellegatti was asking Pioli a question and stated that “I’m a Milanista, not a Piolista, with all due respect” and the manager replied: “Not many have been this year, Milanisti I mean.”
What a quote. True too.

This man’s heel turn is going to be amazing. If Napoli is decent next year. It is going to be insane.
