Botman was trash last season so I really hope not. Outside of his injury, he was so shit that even Stevan forgot to remind us that he could've been here instead of our other CB's

“Traits of” does not equal to “perform the same”.
And regarding Botman, he tore his ACL partially back in September (not sure about date) and then came back without operating, against Newcastle’s recommendation. Then later tore it completely in march, so that would obviously have played a role in his performances.

I really do like the idea of a future CB-pair with Pavlovic-Thiaw will be a living h**l for opponents if they can build chemistry, gain some experience and fill out their bodies (mainly Thiaw).

If Adli goes, Who is capable of playing a nice, splitting passes? We will be covered as far as box to box, and defensive minded role goes. But who will actually be the intelligent passer and crosser. We need at least one semi decent player like that no? Tonali would be welcome. But with Fofana would there be space/need for Tonali? Pretty sure ifhe comes back, it would be as a starter. Then one of RLC/Bennacer/Reijnders goes to bench.

I think Bennacer/Adli will be the DM’s who drop back with Fofana/Musah as the other double pivot and Reijnders/RLC will be the AM who drops into midfield in the buildup. I guess Pobega, if he stays can be the 3rd option in any of those 3 positions.

RLC is only a ballcarrier, which makes me seriously doubt that he’ll fit within Fonseca’s system.

I also don’t understand why Royal is an option with 2-3 defensive RB’s in the squad already (Calabria, Kalulu, Terracciano) and Florenzi (who he got rid of in Roma). It should be a more offensive minded RB on the wish list.

yeah I think he will use 3 2 buildup to free up Theo - Ibra mentioned more attacking role for Theo too.
