I'm not old enough to remember the early days of Berlusconi, but I know for sure that before Leao and Bonucci, his most expensive player was Rui Costa for like 40 millions more or less, while Moratti signed Vieri for 50+ millions, Agnelli signed Nedved and Buffon for more than 50 mill etc.
