I hope we wrap up Fofana pretty quickly, then Morata and Pavlovic. I saw the Serb at the Euros and was impressed with him: big, strong, and decent speed who looked like a leader despite his young age. I thought that we should go for him and so I'm pleased that we are in negotiations. A Tomori-Kalulu duo is too short, imo, Thiaw could be our third CB but if a good offer comes we'll probably let him go because we need a left-footed CB that we have lacked since Romagnoli. Gabbia as 4th and Simic fifth would be fine by me.
A second striker could be gotten later on when clubs solidify their rosters and someone decent could be availabe.
Rabiot is a pipe dream right now but you never know, he'd be the cherry on top of the cake. We can also afford to wait on a RB but the frst 3 I mentioned are fundamental for me.

Please elaborate your methods

I sprinkle some oregano
That or i set spaghetti-traps

Very often they escape (cause my traps are designed for people over 5'5 and also they are so greasy)

If it’s a 3 2 buildup with the LCB RCB RB mostly as the 3, that would mean Tomori is in the middle if we get Pavlovic as the LCB.
From training, looks like one of the midfielders drops between the CBS for the 3

Sokratis - shutdown Messi that one NT game :proud:

People said Pioli had a banishment regime but back then if a CB made one slip up that was like the kiss of death

Reminds me of Rodrigo Ely, had a great pre season. Then starts against Napoli, and never plays again :lol::lol:

FYI, back then we paid 8Million to Raiola as an agent fee for Ely :g:

Is Fofana the guy that finally fills the Kessie hole?

Darwin missed like 3 open goals and Uruguay lost to 10 men
but he punched like 4-5 people, all we really need is to scare other teams, then everything else will fall into place.

It's true. Of the Copa games I watched there is far more intensity and emotion involved. Not that the euro has been bad, it's had less excitement

Of the Copa Games I watched, it was half full stadiums and butchers kicking each other, playing long balls and avoiding the midfield all together.

Not just us but Serie A got priced out of Zirkzee. Just like Califlori, italian clubs are not dropping 50+ m on a work in progress.

Also note how ManU altered the deal: They will voluntarily pay even more than the 40M clause so that they can pay the sum in three installments instead of the usual single instalment when activating a buy-out-clause. You'll never see a Serie A club do that, eventhough it gives you a bit more air to breath cash-wise. But on the other hand, you add to the ammortization and most of Serie A clubs don't have the wiggle-room to voluntarily add to that just to get a better payment deal.

But yeah, that's the reality we're living in. Zirkzee fought tooth and nail with Bologna to qualify for CL only to then chose ManU, who doesn't play CL, over us because they'd pay the comission he's asking. And he'll probably not even be a starter, where with us he'd start day and night. I think in the context of Italian football he'd meant trouble everytime we'd tried to extend his contract. I'm not happy we didn't get him, I'm not trying to cope, but still, maybe it's for the better...

10 million is an insane sum for a young player like ZirkZee.

He chose correctly for his family

If we get this market right, we SHOULD be able to going forward. We will have a lot of assets that can be sold, less needs to fill in the squad, and significant revenue to work with. Frankly, I think we could have done that this summer if we sold players like Bennacer, Maignan, Pobega, Sael, etc.

I’m hoping we fill the major positions of need this summer (CF, the pivot roles, CB, and RB) and then we can start swinging for the fences.

I don't understand the choice for Zirkzee. Unless he's there to play with Hojlund, I just don't get why he goes there, career-wise.

Players go to different clubs for all sorts of reasons, money being a huge one, but they also factor in their career--and I just see this as a bad choice for him. If he went to Arsenal? Makes sense, they need a striker, etc etc.

The fact that the formula was changed also underlines where and how negotiations happen, it's not just about "this is the price, pay or go" but also about how to pay it, structure of the payments, tax stuff, etc etc.

I was never really big on Zirkzee--which probably means that Ruud van Nistelrooy is going to turn him into the next great Dutch striker--but I'm just... not a fan of his skillset or style, but best of luck to the kid with his career.
