too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
I do love and share the sentiment of putting together players that compliment each other in a team sport with an ambition of winning. I'm not sure we will ever get it under RedBird it seems to go against their philosophy as winning consistently is boring apparently ? but we must all dream of a day when Milan reign supreme again.
Forza Milan.

Stg the most annoying part of freddiposting is how confident he is in his assessment of players w careers from 1995-2010 because he saw them play once in 2009 when he was 6

There's literally no sheva equivalent today. Winger speed and dribbling and top CF box presence
Minimally slower than mbappe and infinitely better finisher and positioning, also able to play in the center and on both wings, looking natural no matter what angle he was coming at the defense from

Watch games from shevas cl run with Dinamo Kiev or games in his first season with us. Playing next to recent balon dor weah and outshining him w how incisive and relentless he was

Im not gonna listen to a guy named andrei talk about another guy named andrei

Im gonna take a wild guess here..but u might be slightly biased

Biggest mistake from us and actually imo thats when decline started is when he left us for Chelsea. Could not understand why someone would want to leave us for f*cking Chelsea back then. We were top of the world... Its was my first real heartbrake. Never forgave him.

He did leave in a shitty way but I don't think it was as bad for us as it was for him. Shame we didn't do it earlier so we could get crespo instead of the bums G signed

If anything it was worse for him because it put too much pressure on sheva just as his body started letting him down. Expectations were massive and he had already started to struggle turning defenders and playing from deep, if he had stayed he could have focused on adapting his game instead of trying to adapt to a new system, league, environment all while all his old tricks were no longer viable. Like post hernia or w/e surgery it was genuinely sad to watch, he had lost any semblance of a first step but he still played quite far away from goal compared to a inzaghi, van nistelroy type of player. I genuinely think that if had stayed here he woulda had a longer career especially w kaka coming up behind him

I came to Milan for Van Basten and Ruud... But stayed for Franc and Paul.

For me it was first Sheva, then Pippo, then Kaka. Never worshiped anyone more than those three. Not Maldini. Not Nesta. Not Gattuso. Not Seedorf or anyone else from that 2000s era. Sheva, Pippo and Kaka were my idols.

I got over two of them leaving us in their prime. I got over Pippo returning and making a fool out of himself as Silvios tragic muppet. I got over Sheva returning as something that wasn't even worth to be called the shadow of his former self.

I guess since then, there's nothing that can really shock me anymore. Even Elliott firing Gattuso, Redbird firing Maldini or Tonali being sold and stuff like that. I got over far worse things than that. It's not even close for me.

At least Kaka could keep his dignity even after returning.

I thought I was quick on the trigger but you should change your name to Soldier of Hot Takes :proud:
I really don't see anything special in the English gourcuff. Never been impressed by him

Vinicius yes ofcourse. Beast
Haaland he chokes in big games but he is still a gun player.
Then a couple of others.

Bellingham. Nhaa

Bellingham last year was excellent - he also had many big crucial goals. I am not saying he is a top 5 player. Comparing him to Gourcuff is once again pure hyperbole.

But I made the comment because it's just the last in the line of your highly entertaining takes

His stupid wife wanted to learn to speak English or something ridiculous like that
I still think this was him allowing Silvio to cash out to balance books.
Same way they did with Kaka and Ibra.

If the wife truly heard London calling .... well each man has to deal with that how they see fit.

Haaland is better than prime ibra already. More evolved. Won ucl.
He could make even brescia reach top 4.
Fast poacher with strength. Unheard of.

Also carries the same traits. Choking in big games.

Yea I was not serious about gourcuff part but you are right

He is already better than kaka now.

Evolved player. He tracks back in defense which kaka never did.

That through pass to inzhagi by kaka in the ucl game would be like an average pass for a player of bellingham's claibre

Bro this guy was taking the piss all his life.

Done a cruyff turn on Franco lel

And the goal he scored.... just casually kneed it upto himself and walloped it into the roof of the net. This whilst Paolo was marking him tightly in the 6 yard box. Even watching it right now I'm angry but smiling at the same time. You can't hate this level of play even if it be against your team.

Also a fun fact about this dude. Some gang thought it would be wise to kidnap his father before the 94 world cup. Rather than give in to their demands. He refused to play for Brazil. They quickly returned his father

The balls on this guy.
A true legend, stories about him, my God... Crujff used to tell all sorts of tales about Romario when he was his coach at Barca. He had a difficult temper but was deadly. That final against Barca 1994 was probably our only CL final where we were heavy underdogs. Crujff talked shit before the game, how Barca bought Romario and we bought Desailly, that's the difference in mentality etc. Fabio OWNED him! Franco & Billy were suspended, nobody expected Barca to not score past us with Galli-Maldini DC combo BUT the same Desailly marked Romario out of the game and managed to score in the process. How I jumped in front of my old tv watching that game with my late grandma, who bought me my first Milan scarf, my first Milan shirt... Ah, the memories.

I remember reading the headlines

Milan sign Juventus superstar

I instantly thought we'd signed Del Piero and was like
View attachment 42013

To then find out it was Inzaghi was such a downer
View attachment 42015
I didn't get it at the time, that move. Pippo was like Theo, you love him ONLY if he plays for your team. I thought he was way overpaid and severely limited technically, which was true, BUT he was one of the clutchest players ever and ways in which he managed to score were unbelievable. We won't see anyone like him bc today they wouldn't let him sniff the pitch with his frail built and narrow skillset. But man, was he deadly... A definition of a word poacher.

Kaka didn't want to go to City so he didn't, he moved just after

Ibra was supposedly let go because Silvio didn't want the wage burden anymore. He had signalled that the big spending on Milan was over.

If you look at how it went with Sheva and Kaka then they probably wrongly assumed that Ibra would also decline in the near future.

Just wondering to myself why Romario never played in Italy at the time? I know he played for an excellent Barca side but you would think either before going to Spain or after he would've ended up in Italian Serie A?
He wanted to go back to Brazil, he was homesick all the time (like Neymar/Ronaldinho, except times 10). He was still in Brazil squad at France 98.

Lazio was not a fodder team in the 1990s, they won the scudetto in the later part and the UEFA Cup which was much tougher than what you may think it is.

He also debuted for the Italian national team at 20 years. Italy, defence , you get the idea.

He only joined Milan later because Lazio were broke and needed money.
Don't bother, I have a certain appreciation for him trying to stir a conversation but it's of no use. He doesn't know who Sergio Cragnotti was, he doesn't know Lazio was perennial title contender in the late 90s, he doesn't know Nesta was captaining Lazio at 21 or something, which was unheard of for a club of that stature at the time (and still is now tbh)... He doesn't know, Jiv. Period.

Kaka was injury prone as fuck

Sheva yes was still in his prime. Bad luck struck him.

But ibra should never have been sold. 30 or 31. Peak of his career. He doesn't rely on speed. Skilled strong complete player. G Went full re@tard.

Okay, this discussion is going in circles and I feel like you are being selective

Bellingham is not doing crazy things, he is not shocking the world .. he is doing great for his age, a very good player .. I don't see how that is different from the Nesta example (and there are many others beside him)

You mention Donnarumma , I can say the same about Casillas (I can find more btw) , you mention Pogba (at 18 lol) and Gerrard (of all people) was already a starter for Liverpool at 17. Lamal? Rooney, Ronaldo Nazario. Whatever, this is a argument that you can't win because its not founded on accurate information.
Bellingham is one of the most overrated players I have ever seen and is an epitome of todays society craving for something that HAS to be special or whatever. Dude is great in off the ball movement, good shot (he's no Valverde) and good heading. Him to cost 115 mil or whatever it was is still baffling to me. If he wasn't english he'd be maaaybe 40 mil player. Had a fluke season last year and continues to prove it for a year now.

YF is a good dude. At least discussions with him stir up the football mind and takes you down memory lane. He also comes around and gives credit when you show him good enough proof

Bellingham is the real deal imo
He has a lot of character besides being an above average football player. What he did last season was no small feat. This season the RM team looks disjointed.

But is he "shocking the world"? Oh hell naw
