There have been cases of cheating in the UCL also and they count. We are often at the receiving end of it but nobody is going to credit us with those non-existent titles.

The official record show that Juve have 36 league titles and 2 UCL titles. Inter has 3 UCL and 20 league. We have 7 UCL and 19 league. Domestically Juve is Italy's biggest team no matter how you look at it (titles, overall wins, head to head) and in Europe, Milan is Italy's biggest team (due to the titles won, but not point record- which favours Juve actually).
League wins were secondary for Milan cause it paid far less than ucl. That’s why they never focused on the league

And if we purposely under perform in the ucl and focus purely on the league then Milan would have much more league titles too. Just like when we won in 21/22 cause we had no European comp to worry about.

Yes I know rube made finals plenty of times but they lost when it mattered. That shows they were never a top side. Mentally weak. Mental midgets. True winners are those that win Ko matches. When it matters most.

If league paid the same as ucl then what makes you think Milan wouldn’t have focused on the league rather than ucl.

Seriously psg is beatable tactically, the defence will not that good vs merda counter, meanwhile arsenal vs inter is a chess game, kiwior-saliba-partey-their fullback atleast know how to defend.

Mendes pocketed both salah and saka.

Arsenal are good defensively but that's about it.

Psg are the full package

After years of being top heavy they finally jave a functioning midfield.

Saka is so overrated

I bet even Theo can fuck him up as fat as he is

I hate to admit it but I think that Barca have surpassed us in the list of greatest European clubs of all time. This is a list that I constantly revise in my mind. The updated version :head:

1. Real Madrid
2. Bayern Munich
3. Barcelona
4. AC Milan
5. Juventus
6. Liverpool
7. Manchester United
8. Inter Milan
9. Ajax Amsterdam
10. Benfica = Porto
idk why you got so many thumb downs for this

that’s actually a great list

two decades ago milan was a lock for top 3 but we're way too irrelevant since then in europa

Its 7 vs 6, and we are winning h2h. Who the hell care about ecl score partitipation?they live in bundesfodder which mean auto ucl qualification

Exactly

Same goes for la liga. Only exception we can make is for real as they actually win when it matters

Ranking Bayern second shows a clear lack of ball knowledge 🤔

Pistocchi on Milan: "The whole organization needs improvement"

Maurizio Sarri's name is gaining traction for the Milan bench, but other top names are also being considered, such as Antonio Conte. Meanwhile, the club is still waiting to appoint a new sporting director. We discussed the situation with well-known journalist Maurizio Pistocchi. Here are his comments to MilanNews.it.

Regarding management, the search for a sporting director continues
"The problem with all these American ownerships is that the sporting director can't operate independently, but must share the project and ideas with other executives. This can cause problems, because someone who understands football struggles to see why certain investments are entrusted to an executive who only deals with finance. Ultimately, independence in work and judgment should be restored to those who do it professionally — the sporting director."

A role that has clearly been underestimated at Milan over the past two seasons
"The sporting director is a very important role, but the whole organization needs improvement — competencies need to be increased."

Specifically, which competencies?
"Sometimes, when I see promising players in Italy, I wonder why they haven't made it to a top club. In South America, English clubs dominate the market: take Mastantuono from River Plate, he's 17 and now everyone knows him. Manchester City had already spotted him a year ago. Just today I read about a controversy involving Ancelotti, who in the Copa del Rey Clasico only had two match analysts, while Barcelona had seven. If you bring this up in Italy, you get the old-timers saying these things don’t make a difference. But they do — because sport is based not only on human insight but also on data. So, the issue of Milan's sporting director is a problem, yes, but not the main one: the entire technical department needs development."

New Milan sporting director, the saga continues without progress. CorSport: "Everyone wants their petal, everyone would like to keep the flower for themselves, everyone moves at their own pace"

It was an urgent matter — and still is — but despite the search starting over two months ago, Milan has yet to appoint a new sporting director, a figure sorely missed in recent seasons. Yet on Via Aldo Rossi, chaos still reigns and, more importantly, there are too many conflicting visions on the issue. As Corriere dello Sport wrote this morning, the saga continues without any real steps forward:

"Plucking the daisy, at Milan, is not a simple operation. Far from it. Everyone wants their own petal, everyone would like to keep the flower for themselves, everyone has their own timeline. And in the end, nothing ever gets decided, even though this decision is of utmost importance for the club’s near future and requires, among other effectiveness criteria, not only a sound choice but also some degree of timeliness. The saga to find the new Rossoneri sporting director — and consequently the coach for next season — continues without making any progress. It feels like being on a treadmill: there's movement, there's activity, but you always end up in the same place; in fact, the more time passes, the more you risk falling behind out of sheer exhaustion."

We have beaten Inter this season when these two played as well.

Yeah, Milan aren’t on Inter’s level at all but we have the squad and coach to be their antidote or Kryptonite so to speak regardless of how they play.

Like how Sassuolo or Italiano was Pioli’s Milan Kryptonite.

So I don’t want to undervalue our wins vs them, we did really well.

lol? Their titles were fine until the calciopioli happened

Then things changed. I would discount about the last 10 titles as they clearly won it via fraudulent measures. But yes they still would have more domestic titles than us. However it’s 7 vs 2. If it was 7-6 then sure there is a case to be made. It’s not even close at all.

Bigger club in Italy is all you can say

Milan is the bigger global club by far.

Liverpool is far better than rube too. Infact Ajax is ahead. Granted it’s weak Dutch league but they have 4 ucls. That’s double rubes.

Finalists? No one celebrates finalists. And Ajax had more style too if that is a criteria.

Winning is all that matters in the ucl.

Madrid 3 peat is questionable too btw but they are still far ahead of anyone else.
I still have Milan ahead of Juve in my list, just to be sure that you saw that.

The criteria is complex, its very hard to pin it down to a few things.

I just find it difficult to claim that we are still the second greatest European club on the basis of UCL titles won alone.

Times pass and things evolve. Clubs go through dominant eras that make up for underachieving in the past. I try to look at the full picture.

If we had a few more scudetti then that should support the 7 UCL claim. We don't even put an effort into winning the domestic cup titles.

We focus our entire energy on just the UCL, which for the longest time in history did not exceed 10 matches per season. I think you undermine the difficulty of winning the domestic league competitions. Domestic league = marathon, UCL = 100-800m sprint.

UCL is a lot more prestigious than domestic leagues because each league is different and you cannot compare teams from different leagues.

Madrid is the greatest club because its head and shoulders above the rest in both the domestic league and in the CL. They are also favoured , cheats whatever you want to call them, but the numbers speak loud and clear.

I had Milan in 2nd place for the longest time but our form over the past 15 years or so really set us back as others progressed and narrowed the margin.

Barca made up for serious underachievements by dominating in Europe and domestically. As a name and brand and appeal they are also up at the top. Liverpool also did something similar although on a smaller scale. Man Utd was higher up in the list but they fell of just as we have. It just makes sense, honestly.

That shouldn't matter.

Greatness should be mainly about winning, not about pursuing financial objectives alone.

That's the choice that the club must make. Clubs like Juve and Bayern don't undermine their domestic duties to focus solely on winning the UCL.

You are making assumptions btw. Nothing to prove that we would win domestically if we didn't focus on the league.

I dont agree with this at all and it could be counter argued with our domestic league performances.

There's a lot of luck involved

Does rube titles even count??
Serie a titles

And printer had 3 fake scudetti
This is a thing that frustrates me about Milan.

Juve and Inter won their titles by seizing on an opportunity. In the absence of other teams stepping up, they pretty much dominated for years here and there.

While we, under various owners, were a fucking mess, and at times a joke.

I don't blame Juve and Inter, I'm more disappointed in our own actions and performances.

This is why post #19 I want Gerry to seize an opportunity to really fucking put a neck lock on Serie A for a while.

Winning really does make you change your opinion on decisions made, something @Samaldinho was laughed at for demanding "sporting success"... With lots of "what you gonna do" comments.

How are we doing now?

We've missed a trick several times, and while I'm hopeful, I'm not confident Gerry is the guy to eat humble pie and go back to a more traditional and known dynamic at Milan.

God forbid a football club would be run like a football club... And sporting success the thing that we're judged on.

Yes that maybe so but rube is not just below milan
I wanted to make that clear

They are below Liverpool and Ajax as well

Rube should not be in the conversation whatsoever

You can call them greatest Italian club in Italy that’s about it

Globally no. Milan is tiers above them.

I think Bayern is bigger than Barca

Liverpool and United are close, Liverpool edging United in recent years. I also consider things like club brand appeal which works in United's favour but maybe less so for clubs like Juve and Bayern.

This list is constantly evolving btw, not set in stone.

All I can say is they are good losers

Is that what rube want to be known as ? Sure they are the greatest losers

Greatness is measured by ucl success. Domestic comp actually involves lot more luck as it’s much easier to cheat in domestic comps compared to ucl.

International refs won’t favour rube as much. That explains their poor performances in ucl compared to serie a

Look I despise Juventus , it's just a villainous club in my eyes , I hate everything about it

But it's a giant club with many claims to greatness. No way on earth is Inter bigger than them. And I don't think that Ajax is either. Liverpool maybe.

This list changes a lot with me, the difference between 2nd and 7th or 8th is really really slim btw..

Why don't you write down your list? Top 10

"Good losers" is a term I am happy to describe them as

I really see your point, I just disagree on the assessment.

Juve is not a lucky team, they are cheats.

You undermine their European record but I think it's better than how it appears. They also tend to have very impressive head to head records vs the other giant clubs. They are respected out of fear. They just seem to fall short in the finals, its become something like a curse for them and I am glad that it is that way.
