yea but it's also Ulsan vs. Mamelodi Sundowns
I bet most people don't even know what leagues those teams are from
lol you're 100% correct.

River Plate and Boca Jrs came with the whole of Argentina with them. They had thousands of fan there.

But I look at the National Team of Mexico who is playing at the Gold Cup right now. They normally always sell out anywhere in Texas and i'm seeing empty seats. The Trump effect is real.

Aren't you the guy who wants Morata to stay because "He can add depth to our midfield with his technical qualities".

Depth. To. Our. Midfield.

Hysterical.
You are insanely cringe. As expected of somebody who cries back for that gambler.

If we have to choose between Morata and Jovic then yes I would choose Morata.
Morata is better than him.
He is more like an extra midfielder, he's good at keeping the ball.
If we are focusing on ball possession like Tare said then Morata is a player built for it. Of course he would be a bench option not a starter.

Of course if Como is offering us a bunch of money then I don't mind selling him.

No one could – but that’s not the point, is it?

The point is we’re still burning 5M+ a year for a tourist who doesn’t even buy a matchday ticket. He’s not a player. He’s not an asset. He’s not anything at this point.

Emerson might be a waste of 20M, sure – but at least he trains, plays, and might still bring some value back. Hell, we might even sell him one day. That’s called potential upside.

Origi on the other hand is pure and one fucking hundred percent sunk cost. Zero output, zero resale, zero anything. I’m genuinely out of words trying to explain this. If this isn’t clear by now, it never will be.
The whole Origi debate and how bad some of Maldini’s signings were is just a smokescreen. It’s a distraction so they can say "well, the new management made mistakes too" as if that somehow erases Maldini’s track record.

The truth is, a lot of people still can’t admit Maldini was less than perfect and that he went on TV to basically try and hold the ownership hostage. No ownership is going to be thrilled with that when the guy himself is still learning on the team's money and time (like nsq pointed out earlier)

All this "but why isn’t so-and-so getting fired" talk isn’t really about accountability. It’s just another cope. They don’t want to admit Maldini’s firing was justified, so they reframe everything as if they’re fighting for the club's future or something

Well it kind of is the point isn't it? Nobody honestly thought he would tank the way he did. We bought a seasoned player who had honours under his name and was well respected by Liverpool fans and the club.

Regardless Emerson isn't playing for free right? He still gets paid a salary of 3m and we burned 20m on him.

I'm tired of people pretending that we knew Origi was going to be as poor as it turned out. My point is anyone with sense knew Emerson was going to be a bust. Alas I'll let you have your opinion and I'll have mine,.

At least you don't see me or anyone else here desperately trying to defend Emersons transfer. It's okay to call a shit transfer what it is. It's not going to kill you.
Folk still dragging up Origi with very inflated costs to fit a line of thought falls apart when the facts aren't correct.

Yes origi was a terrible transfer, so is Royale, who cost us more, which I think was the point?

Not that either was better or worse on terms of player performance... But that Origi or Royale or ChuK or RLC cost us more vrs who is more of a bum.

Origi is the biggest bum we got, but didn't cost us the most financially, out of all the bums we've stock piled. I think that's factual at this point?

Can we please get rid of Origi, Royale, Terra, Chuk, RLC, Ben, probably Okafor and perhaps a few more.

Can we agree on this lol?

Y not.... they're our owners. This infighting only benefits our enemies.

Have they made errors??? Course they have. Show me an ownership that hasn't???

This anti ownership malarkey is one of the cringiest movements out there.
I should make it clear
I don't support either Redbird or Elliott
I am not convinced by them yet
They have still yet to earn my trust after 3 years(Elliott 7)

I thought Paolo wasn't invited to the anniversary though? Or was that just Boban?

We did pay zero transfer fee for Origi, that’s just a fact. Of course he has to earn a wage, who doesn't? But we paid 20M for the bum Royal, and still gotta drop about 5M gross a year on him. Or wait… is he playing here out of pure love? If he’s doing it for free, please, enlighten me. I’ll gladly admit I was wrong.

Not quite the 20M you mentioned.
Still costs less than 4 years of Origi.

Not to mention we can still loan/sell him off to recoup costs.

l’articolo a firma di Luca Bianchin, oltre
Gyokeres, cita Darwin Nunez, Retegui, Gonçalo Ramos, Samu (Omorodion), Boniface, Solanke, Sorloth, Pavlidis, Guirassy, Emegha, Vlahovic, Dovbyk, Lucca, Demirovic, Hojlund, Undav, Woltemade e Pepi.

What a time to be a football journalist.

btw I‘ve got a feeling Gyökeres will be the biggest bust. Whoever buys him will regret it.

Yet Furlani has had years to learn and openly admits that he's only now seeing he needs to learn and understand better Italian football etc... but that's okay lol?

huh.gif

And who is saying San Paolo was perfect?

But Origi didn't win us a Scudetto. He was bought the year AFTER the Scudetto. :taphead:
I think his point is that he'd rather metaphorically get a Scudetto if it meant that it came with an Origi-sort of failure instead of winding up in 8th place; I don't think he was saying Origi gave us the Scudetto.

Here's a compromise.

If one side stops using Origi as a ammunition, the other will stop going on about Tonali's sale.

The most overused arguments in this forum.
