Deulofeu is good with giving through balls and dribbling. Makes many key passes. Hes bad at crossing and passing. Also defensive contribution is poor.
He does not dive into tackles.
He does not dive into tackles.
Cazorla is not a regista. He's the most advanced mid of a midfield-three, or an attacker.
Playing in front of the defense is more than just ball distribution or playmaking. It would also be a waste to not have Cazorla closer to the goal.

In your head or in reality?
He plays in front of the defense and distributes the ball and controls the tempo. He's the reason Arsenal play the way they do.
He's not a holding mid in Arsenal.
He's the more adventurous one of a CM duo in an unbalanced team.
Coquelin/Xhaka is the anchor
From the article "Arsenal: Santi Cazorla, The Forgotten Saviour"Last year, however, he dropped deeper into a more box-to-box role sliding alongside defensive shield Francis Coquelin and seemed to settle into his preferred role. Playing as a deeper lying playmaker, Cazorla was able to dominate games, getting on the ball as regularly as possible, dictating play and providing Arsenal’s attacks with a structure.
It was an incredibly important role that perhaps was only heightened in the eyes of Arsenal fans once he was out of the side. The second half of the season, Arsenal often looked disjointed and awkward with and without the ball. Cazorla provided the team with a link between defence and attack, something that could not be replaced in his absence.
From "Gooners have missed Cazorla but... Why Xhaka growing on Arsenal fans"The creative element of a side can break down far further back than we might think. Too many sideway passes in the midfield, lop sided wingers, and centre backs at full back positions can damage the way in which a team composes itself from the moment it retrieves the ball or attempts to recycle possession. In steps the creative midfielder. The ever moving, free thinking, cyclical component of any true footballing side. In steps Santi Cazorla.
We've all seen the stats. Games won with Cazorla starting. Games won without Cazorla starting. Etc.. But it's the flow of the team that is most greatly affected by his absence. His undeniable composure on the ball. The way he effortlessly links with any member of the team and instantly raises their game. He is a creative cake baked to perfection and the icing on top is his constant smile. In a world perpetuating hate, prejudice, and intolerance, to see such a happy go lucky character enjoy life is important for the game, its fans, and the world in general.
I see many similarities in Granit Xhaka. Physically, two very different people, granted. However, when either step on the pitch, they instantly become the heartbeat of the team. Santi - by playing quick short passes, becoming the link between defense and our attacking midfield options. Retaining possession and moving the ball in either direction so efficiently. And Granit – by breaking up play, imposing himself on the ball, and using his vision to launch a more direct counter attack.
From "Arsenal analysis: Olivier Giroud was missed vs Middlesbrough, and Lucas Perez is not much of an alternative".Of course Arsenal missed Santi Cazorla - that was no surprise - and it would have helped Wenger’s cause if either Aaron Ramsey or Granit Xhaka had been able to come in to take on playmaking duties. Because without one of those three, the hosts had little to link defence with attack.
Thats the whole issue with your analyses. You assume every coach follows the tactical setup in your head. About how teams should be (according to you) rather than what teams are in reality.
He plays center in the pitch with a defensive minded mid helping him, his primary job is playmaking and distribution from the deep. Hes thriving in that role and is a center piece in Arsenals playing style and winning ways.
Everton currently not willing to give Deulefou away, not even on loan, but the player could push for a move to get more playing time [Sky].
Cazorla is not that kind of player anymore, not in at least two seasons.
