Masking damage limitation in full effect. If only Pioli had enabled DL after the Supercoppa...

Conceding the most goals in 2023 (all competitions) of any team in Europe's 'top five' leagues is way more damaging to the image of the current Champions of Italy.

I don't get why Lazetic doesn't play more.
Is he really THAT bad?
He looks decent every time I see him
Fuckin Pioli man

You know it's a dark month when a Leao response to a Romano tweet is the best thing to happen in all of January.

Guess who wrote the article for Gazzetta dello Sport? Claudio Laudisa. Damn I feel so stupid to have fallen for a Laudisa news. Me of all people who always warn you folks to not buy his shit. And now that man made me curse against Leao.

In the almost 99,9% impossible case you read this: Sorry Leao, I hereby officially apologize to you - once again. Shame on me :(

Doesn't matter the reasoning. It's not a good look if Leao drags it on to this summer.

Coping technique of the day:

Imagine it was 31st January of 2022, and some mysterious stranger appeared and told you: "Today in one year, bad news will rain on your head and your team will once again tremendously struggle - but this time with the Champions of Italia crest on your chest."

Would you have taken it?

Regarding the article published today by the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport entitled: 'Leão Milan total break', AC Milan would like to clarify that negotiations with Rafael Leão have not broken down.

The journalistic narration of an alleged frost between the parties is not only totally unfounded but also damaging to the club and its player. AC Milan continues, in fact, the dialogue with Leão and his entourage in a serene and professional atmosphere.

Embarrassing for the club to even address newspaper rumours. No other clubs, especially big clubs, do things like this. Sign of desperation from management.

Thanks! I'm from the UK, I'm 38, been a Milan fan since the late 90s. Have been to several Milan games, including the last game in 2012 when we said goodbye to Pippo and the other legends. Will never forget that day.
Of course you are 38
Naive of me to think this club can attract very young fans

That is wrong. Bayern Munich, for example, does that too. Uli Hoeneß in particular did it regularly and he was one of the best managers ever.

You don't have to try desperately to put a negative spin on everything and make fun of the club.

How about these hoes make an official statement of why they didn’t spend anything during the transfer window?

We have to rotate between Krunic and Pobega in midfield. Hell, the latter replaced Kessie - that should tell you everything about our parsimonious approach in the mercato.
Love this burn.

We have no money, so why dont sell Leao ?
Because we won’t find a better player for the money we make selling him?

If he doesn’t renew we sell him in the summer, but why sell now?

Was hoping to read a ‘and we will take legal action against GDS for damages’, but at least strongly denying is a good first step

Maybe not better I dont know, but equal maybe. I would buy St Maximin for like 30-40m. Buy a rw for 30m, buy a defender for 20-30m
Next season if we get like 30m budget, buy a new midfielder and striker

Just put in a damn release clause so you don't lose Leao for free too. Does Maldini think some club will play 200m for him?

That would be a step too far, that's a declaration of war with the newspaper and by extension all other media outlets. It's the sort of tantrum that people within (and around) publicly covered industries hate. Responding strongly, especially when you do it selectively, is a strong enough response. Like when Benzema clapped back at Di Marzio.

It looks like they might have coordinated this, especially with Leao tweeting back to Romano.

I’m not making fun of the club and not trying to be negative either. Hoeness is an eccentric ex-convict, he’s not the best example to use. Clubs rarely address newspaper rumours. Let the public believe whatever they want and do your job properly. Why are they responding to fake news from a journalist, an Italian journalist at that.

My two nephews, 9 and 10, have become Milan fans because of Leao, Ibra, Giroud, and Theo... and Gullit?

One of them abandoned Chelsea and is a taekwando star (and basketball star) so Ibra is his hero, the other is probably going to join this forum in a few years and write essays about the evolution of striker tactics from Puskas to Haaland. He's a talented player who told me he loves Gullit, apparently FIFA cards has made Milan popular with the youth?

I just bought them shirts, I'm just hoping they miss out on the most recent results though lol.
