I'm on the @yungeddy train of no more Italian coaches. Conte too expensive and don't want to see him here with his baggage, same with Gasp. De Zerbi is the only interesting name.

And in what world was Gattuso a better coach than Pioli in their tenure here? Gattuso was a motivator first, tactician never.

Our comeback after 0-5 defeat vs atalanta was a miracle, 1 out of 10 event. we can't just think that it will happen again this time.

Take a look at Theo's behavior especially on the first goal. Now run it back to last weekend when he had 'muscle fatigue'. Do you actually believe this was true?

He's regretting the contract extension? I hope not. That attitude is unlike his usual self. Makes you wonder what's going on.

It goes back to "really broke" or "have the money but doesn't want to spend it" right?
If you cant afford a 600k - 1m loan / purchase for a backup keeper then my friend 'you is broke or you is dumb'

Roger Federer is the GOAT
i brought this up a few months ago. if they knew they couldn't afford a decent replacement, they should have extended with him. but apparently no backup of his quality is allowed to earn more than theo. except origi and dest of course. i know he often didn't look good against the berardis and lukakus but he was the captain, longest serving at the club, italian, serie a experienced, supposedly in his prime now. these are all factors you have to consider in a contract (extension) imo. maybe we have to bite the bullet sometimes. it’s not like we would be fucked for years with that contract. a reliable third option like romagnoli is hard to find. we should have at least extended one between him and kessie.
I miss Romagnoli

Pretty clear why Theo is behaving like this. In his mind, he is tasked with creating for our toothless offense which leaves him exposed and someone to cover for him. This arrangement is not something that's new. But if you think about how we've been playing this season, how many times has he been left wide open when he tries to make the overlapping run only to have Leao carelessly give it away? What about when he's making a run but you also have Calabria trying to create on the other side because we are so desperate and him and Salad losing the ball while Theo is also pushed up.

Yea, we all know Calabria has the body of a 40 year old, so why the fuck is he pushed up all the way mid and when we lose the ball nowhere to be seen in the frame? Calabria has been made to look like a fool by Zaccagni already. Btw, if that guy was on our team in our static offense I could see how because he has no pace or burst and can't create anything, people saying he is Italian fodder and should gtfo. But this guy looked like freaking Leao against Calabria. Only to have Calabria show the exact same type of mentality and mindset on defense again yesterday and conceding a penalty.

Seems to me that players are all trying to salvage the situations themselves because the root of the issue (our build up/offense is predictable and easy to shut down) is not solve by the manager. So now, players no longer believe in the tactics and abandoning discipline altogether trying to be the hero, and it's only making things worse.

Yeah

Please no Gattuso

Although, the one positive could be a Baka revival lol.

Too bad we have already used up his allotment of games.

Pigeon, I'm fucking with you bro. I was one of the last people who liked Romagnoli, I advocated for him last year. You made fun of him. It's funny.

I advocated for him too last season. But this forum didn’t rate him at all. He’s doing really well in Sarri’s set up.

Tomori and lately Kalulu has been shocking. If Roma did those kind of mistakes. He would be ripped apart. I’m just saying, we’ve been lenient on Tomori/Kalulu tbh. They’ve been a disappointment this season, sorry.

Wow, the definition of not giving a single fuck
Pioli might have lost the dressing room

Regardless Thats unacceptable from theo what a bitch
Wait, now I think that maybe the latest rumour about his clash with Pioli is not 100% untrue

An herein lies the root of the problem

Every single player is out there look like they are trying to do their own thing because there is absolutely zero tactical instruction given to them bar the basics.

Worked well and good when we kept getting bailed out by individual brilliance time and time but even those seem to have run out.

Who would probably be cheaper than Tuchel, but would be a great fit for our squad, is Marcelo Gallardo. Would be an interesting choice.

I don't disagree that more time is needed, but if Pioli can't show change given he's had 2-3 weeks time to turn things around, there is only so much leeway that can be afforded. It's not to say a new coach will perform miracles, it may be a rough season with or without Pioli - make no mistake. But the club is more important than the coach, and if the coach cannot correct the situation then he must go. The players as a sum are more than quality for top 4 in the league, and can push for Scudetto even as-is if we had the fitness/medical staff of a normal club.

We just cannot allow more valuable time to be wasted. Top 4 can be make or break on the immediate direction this club goes in.

Admitting that continuing with his usual tactics after this would be foolish might have been his saving grace for me - for now. Finally the man is talking some common sense, eventhough it took him way - too - long to realize that he can't just carry on and get humiliated game after game.

I'm curious to see what he's planning. If he can go back to be "the man who finds solutions to every problem". Needless to say that time is running out and that this time it might be too late even for him.

And while tactical adjustments are one criteria the other is obviously if he still has the team behind him or not. If he's lost half the locker room no tactical adjustment will help him. In that case there really wouldn't be no point in continuing with him. I hope Maldini and Massara who visit the team on a daily base will take the right decision. I know that I can't take any more humiliations like that. We've seen some rough phases during banter era, but I can't remember us getting beaten this brutally ona weekly base ever.

We went from a very promising and well managed squad to becoming a fodder aggregator in just 18 months.

In hindsight it’s pretty clear why Gerry hasn’t loosened the purse strings, we have an astonishing amount of dead weight in the squad already

A lot of the good work in getting rid of Mirabellli’s guys is getting undone.

Yes some of these guys aren’t super expensive but it all adds up. You really can’t have more than 3-4 players at this level if we want to be a serious club

Rebic
Diaz
Krunic
Pobega
Messias
Saelemakers
Kjaer
Tata
Calabria
Florenzi
Origi

This squad has 11 absolute duds (Kjaer is the only exception because I love him and he had a long term injury, but I doubt he gets back to his old levels)
+ Gabbia...the human mailbox masquerading as a footballer.

Odds @10.00 for inter to score at least 4 against us, 23.00 to score 5 and 51.00 to score 6.

Go ahead and make some cash, Bioli is here to stay.

theo has the heart of a champion and is commited to the shirt 10 times more compared to the mercenaries who take months/years to extend contract

if he of all players (horse stamina) doesn't track back it points to a deeper issue in the dressing room and theo is not to blame. in fact, he's the only player from this squad who can be excused when not giving it his all, simply because it's not in his dna to fuck off when his team needs him and go hide somewhere.

also from today he should be given the capitancy instead of calabria who besides crying like a pussy when we're getting beaten has contributed only negative things to our form

we need capitano bastardo

That's why I thought it's rather shortsighted they gave him the extension, just because we were still on-par to hit the target (CL place, slight improvement in UCL). The same type of shortsightedness that saw us give Gattuso an extension only to take a gamble on Giampaolo months later.

He's been with us for 3 years already but look at our build up. Unless our pressing works to create chances from our opponent's mistakes, we are basically just pass around until individual brilliance. The only difference is teams are doubling up on Leao's side which all but negates our threat and they are more alert in pressing us for our mistakes. Just in terms of alertness, we are more likely to make mistakes because our players are standing around watching.

First time I'm watching some Youtube Highlights. I like that he knows what to do with the ball between his feet. The man definitely has some technique. He looks fast and explosive on the ball, he moves very well with the ball between his feet and knows how to beat his opponent with speed. And he seems like he know how to shoot.

What's worrying me is his physique. He looks like a child (well, he is a child). His opponents look like children. It's one thing to have them as opponents. It's a different thing to face Serie A opponents where almost all players look like bulls. He's definitely no short-term fix IMO. So not what we need now. I don't think he'd bench Saele and Messias, and I'm not saying this because I particularly like them or because Osorio comes from an inferior league. Just look at how fragile he's build. I don't think he's going to just fit like a glove. I'd rather see us trying for Okafor or... well maybe even Zaniolo (not at 30M tho).

Well, speaking of not being build too fragile, maybe Zaniolo is not the best example neither
