It’s coming from the fact that they decided to walk away from the deal. Means they value their money and don’t want to overspend. Which makes it highly unlikely they would have broken FFP rules (and risked major fines) and spent 300m (more than what we made last year).
Or simply, they wanted full control over the club whereas Singer preferred a charlatan like Gerry who can be bossed around.

Hopefully they want to keep Pioli until summer with the ambition that he can snatch us top 4. Then sack him and invest with a new coach. Copium.

No it’s not the same. They could have used that money elsewhere and probably made more than 7% based on their prior performance. They weren’t scamming Gerry. Investcorp could have easily taken the same deal with a bit more over the top. They didn’t and backed away.

Also, why are we believing this news and ignoring news that they wanted Berlusconi to join them in the deal? They’re both pulled out of someone’s ass so why believe this and not that?
Re-read my previous post, the interest on the loan is just ONE aspect whereas the actual loan itself gives them an element of control and opportunity to seize the club if RedBird defaults. Also, after winning the Scudetto with a young squad who's values significantly appreciated, they didn't deem a 300-400m market necessary (and probably too risky).

Therefore, all things considered, Elliott's decision makes perfect sense for both them and the club at THAT particular point in time.

Or even more simply, medias are full of shit and fueled by who actually profits keeping us in the eye of the cyclone instead of his own club.

So why are we discussing them if it was never an option?

Why would Elliott prefer to bet on very specific scenarios who could or couldn't happen when there was someone else offering straight cash and was (apparently) financially strongly enough to outbid Redbird even with the interest rates included?

Bee Taechaubol could probably outbid Gerry's offer, how much did my man pay again? 300/400m?

It was never a matter of outbiding RedBird. It was about the terms Singer set, and Gerry was the only guy who was willing to go for it.

It was never a matter of outbiding RedBird, it was always about the terms Singer set. And Gerry was the only guy who was willing to go for it.
Isn’t that the same thing? You could always pay enough to get them to drop their demands. They decided it wasn’t worth it.

So why didn't they pay a bit more to outbid RedBird, if they were willing to throw 300-400m on the market? Sounds like BS.
We have a saying 'mouth can say anything' - it matters what you do when it's time to act.

But remember when the sale was going on and it was reported what the offers were, some of us argued that Elliot obviously would choose RedBird because that option benefitted them so much more and we also argued that we didn't believe Gerry had the ability to properly fund the moves we wanted to see.
You can't argue they should just pay a little more after how you advise against it when we purchase players

Whether this current report is accurate or not, expect to see much more stories destroying Redbird and Elliot until things pick up.

Why we pay dest like hes cristiano ronaldo

Why?

Why?
Considering how terrible he is, I’d assume Barca would have been happy to pay portion of his wage for him to go away,

Surprised we are paying all of it.

This is just too rich - Brk and Alo switching their principles to shill for Elliot ???

Wtf am I reading ????
At least it was rightly called out before my post.

Remember all of the Elliot is betting on RedBird's better plan for the club BS that was spouted in here
Well this is most likely the same now things aren't going well and if RedBird can't find money in summer it's going to be deafening.

As much as I would've preferred a 300m market, RedBird still allowed Maldini to spend 50m without requiring any major sales (Hauge was sold under Elliott). Therefore, it isn't THEIR fault that he decided to blow the lot on CDK, Vrancx, Messias, Dest + Thiaw (who barely play) and handed out long term contracts to injury prone players like Florenzi + Origi. Instead, a smart person would've just renewed Romagnoli (he's on 3.5m at Lazio), taken Dybala for free and invested the 45m spent on CDK, Florenzi + Messias on a boss RW like Diaby. Also, he should've just signed Enzo for 10m instead of stalking Renato all summer and ending up with nothing. Had he made all of those decisions we'd probably be top of the table with no gaping holes in the squad.

Start holding Paolo accountable for his fuck ups!

That’s exactly my point though. Spending 300m on the market implies they’re irrational. But they acted very rationally when they stopped bidding for Milan.

I consider them all on the same level. I don’t think Thauvin, Deulefeu are better than the Messias. Salad is still better than them tho.
Above statement is only grammatically correct :fp:

No, all we’re saying is that it’s extremely farcical that Investcorp would have spent 300-400m on the market.

Gotta go agree with brk, people give them shit all the time for arguing “they have the money but just decided to not spend it”

Well, then you can’t look at investicorp and see how they had money but decided to not spend it when it comes to acquiring the club but believe them when they say they will spend during a mercato.

It's irrational to your financially conscious ethos.

Maybe their plan was to spend big for a few years and then flip the club or ramp down and be more sensible before spending again on another cycle or going self sustaining but didn't want to pass their fair purchase price.

Your argument in the posts though make it look like you are just arguing for the establishment no matter what and at the moment the emperor has no clothes.

There are so many things wrong with this post..ill only comment the cb part

Thiaw 7mil fee, 1mil gross wages. Yearly amortization on a 5 yr contract = 2.4mil

Romagnoli FREE on 3.5 net = approx 7 mil gross. Yearly amortization on a 5 yr contract = 7mil

We will pay Thiaw his 5 year contract + transfer free as much as we would pay Romagnoli in 1.5 years.

can Thiaw do as good as Romagnoli? Im pretty sure he can..I even bet Berardi wouldnt make him eat grass.
Now why he doesnt get minutes..thats up to padre :)

Well I started my original post stating that this is posturing but what we don't know is what exactly was their plan after purchase and if they would operate similar to RedBird or Elliot initially.

We do know Gerry's was to raise funds which didn't work out and so far hasn't spent anything concrete.
