Do I hear 5th place again anyone?

At this point in time we wouldn't even make fifth place, more like seventh or eight.

Galliani ripensa a Ronaldinho e saluta Eto'o 'Troppo caro'

Sheva? Vediamo, non so come finirà".

i know its in italian but you can make out what it says so far we have signed abbiati, flamini and borriello. abbiati will take fiori place so no improvement there. the defense will be the same maybe we will get zambrotta cant believe we aint going after a CB we really need a young one, the midfield will be the same sammarco will stay at samp because rino has decided to remain we have flamini and gourcuff has gone on loan to bordeaux so even more denfensive minded midfielders maybe next year we will play rino-flamini-pirlo-ambro across the middle. in attack we have signed borriello to replace gila so we are worse off he says we will also sign another striker to replace ronaldo, gomez, drogba, adebayor, benzema, dinho are all mentioned but we will end up with sheva or someone else who is old and past it.

THis will be our squad nest season.

GK abbiati, dida, kalac. :head:
DF bonera, nesta, maldini, kala, oddo, favalli, janku, simic, digao, if we get zambrotta maybe one will leave-simic.

Spot on & it looks like Simic is out with him going to Turkey.

If the other striker is quite cheap Milan will have made a tidy profit, but on the other hand most people will say they will struggle to challenge.

with that squad we will surely struggle its hardly any different from last season.

we need a solid commanding GK.
a few young defenders a CB and LB or RB
an attacking mid
a world-class striker to play with pato but doesn't look like it will happen.

very dissappointed with this summers tranfers i was expecting alot more after we finished 5th this just isn't good enough and with fiorentina spending alot of money and spending it wisely on players they need we will struggle to finish 5th this season.

when will galliani wake up and see we aint good enough what do we have do because coming 5th isn't good enough to convince them to improve the team.

not looking foward to next season.

FORZA MILAN!!!

There was a rumor that he was going to be sent out on loan for next season. Wonder if big brother put a stop to it.

unless something major happens we will be in the same or worse position next year. I know many people here like Ambro, but he is not a starter. He is a good player off the bench, but does not possess the quality to be a starter.

I'm not one for being all dramatic and getting upset over Milan's activity, or rather lack of it, in the markets - i've been a fan of Milan long enough to learn that we're just not that sort of club, the kind of club that wow's its fans with signings, or indeed makes good signings at all, anymore.

However, in the modern market its vital to get in quick. Look at Man Utd - had Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves signed up on day one of the window - had a great season. Milan fannied about trying to find bargains and ended up with nothing, well except Pato, who couldn't play until Jan and was overpriced, but you get my drift: Quickness is the key to a good transfer campaign.

Galliani reveals Scudetto spending Saturday 31 May, 2008

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the Rossoneri will spend big ahead of next year's Scudetto bid.
Milan finished fifth this season and, combined with exiting the Champions League at the second round stage, will not participate in Europe's premier club competition.

Their disappointing campaign has led some to call for an overhaul of the current squad, but Galliani believes three or four new faces will suffice.

“It is important that we hold on to the players we have and look to reinforce in all four departments,” said Galliani.

“In goal,” he observed. “Valerio Fiori has left and Christian Abbiati has returned, while Serginho and Cafu are no longer part of the defence.

“We are looking for a wing back, like Gianluca Zambrotta. We will learn whether or not he will arrive in the next few days.

“In central midfield we have lost Yoann Gourcuff, who is on loan at Bordeaux, but have added Mathieu Flamini.

“Likewise, in attack we have brought Marco Borriello back. He scored more goals than Juventus' new signing Amauri this season.”

The transfer guru added that Milan have freed up quite a lot of capital from changes in the management of the club and sale of players.

He also unnervingly revealed that the Rossoneri's failure to qualify for the Champions League has hit the club hard financially.

“It is difficult to arrive at an exact figure and it will depend on how well we do in the UEFA Cup.

“But I believe it will leave us £15m in debt over the next two years. Every Italian club is in the red, there is no risk.”

Where the hell does he confirm this, we are £15mil in debt for the next two years does that mean we will keep this squad for another 2 seasons.

he also says we have freed up alot of capital from players sales such as gila and oli and changes in the management so why dont we spend that on a quality striker, a keeper and a defender.

gallaini talks way too much hes always promising but never delivering.

exactly right, i see at the 'international period' where national teams are either preparing for an actual competition or for the qualifiers of the competition, this period has nothing to do with clubs they have zero involvement in this phase so therefore its a perfect time to start securing transfers so that as soon as the 'international' period is over they can return to in our case milan ready to bond/gel with the squad settle in, adapt , fit in with team etc

Galliani says that it can cost you around 15 million if you miss the Champions League when you usually do well in it(this can be made up to some degree through doing well in the Uefa Cup). He says the bits of debt Milan have have been paid off with the combined sales of 27 million euros fom Gila & Oliviera. He also says that Milan earn anything between 17 & 26 million for the loaning/co-ownership deals on players, it seems that Milan are earning lots but keeping the books looking good interms of annual figures(only spending where necessary & then looking for the best deals).

Although it seems very tight fisted at times, it seems to come down to them being so loyal to present employees & not looking to upset them, for example not signing someone who might put a regular player at risk. It is'nt always the way to go.
