right player to carry on the milan defensive tradition

baresi -> paolo -> nesta -> silva

i love the way he approach every game, full of passion, shattered after every loss, i cant ever forget how he ran from our goal to the opposition net while missing that header & getting pissed off :proud:

awesome player milan please buy a great keeper and a good cb and we are back in the game atleast in defensive category

we need to partner him w/ more of a libero- type CB to organize. Anyone got an idea of one after Nesta retires.

I like the dynamic also cause it gives silva the freedom to push all over field, knowing he has cover

i agree he is so good, he can attack, if we have a stable no nonsense defender other end he can go and fuck others in attack, he can be addition to our slow midfield.

he is not nesta in defense(not yet) but in offense he is awesome

I don't know if he is a libero type but David Luiz can IMO be a good partner for him. And a more unrealistic name would be Chiellini.

I don't mind a little aggression in defence, goes well with Silva's elegance... :D

agreed. I'm struggling to think of a defender in that mold. They are rare... and ussually they are older cause the disapline reading of game comes with age i guess...

elegancE? lol. Silva is all aggression. I love it... but he is exactly like Cheillini in terms of your man marker/destroyer defender (except he can push forward like a CAM)

Don't mistake his passion for aggression... He rarely commits free-kicks, reckless ones anyway. He have a very nice technique and he uses it. He's not Nesta or Paolo - elegant, but he is very smooth.

yup

i thought of all the sucessful teams,
brasil they dont give a fuck about defnse still juan is a good organiser and he is old
italy canna/nesta -> old
barca -> hell who give a fuck about defnse when you have that midfield
milan -> nesta was the calm guy or paolo as CB but paolo after 2005 was crap baring his last season(injuries or something) but his crap is better than most of the defenders *cough* rio *cough*
manure -> i dont how they succeed they have a shit defnse but they play as a team. crap defenders vida is aggresive and rio is overrated though he had two wonderful season in epl
chelsea ->carvalho old
samuel :conf:
we have to buy a new kid and remodel him to that shit

his last ditch tackle is more elegant than all the last ditch tackles from all the other defenders, but this man is a mover, he wants to get involved and he love to move:-)eek: in milan :proud:) so we need a stable guy at back who can cover when tiago is out of osition.

tiago can make up his off position by awesome last ditch tackles for 90% of the time but i need complete insurance, i need a cb who can understand what offside trap is

oddo fucks up every single time and boner will never achieve his potential

In attack he's great and he can make great shots from distance. But even if he likes to attack he never forgets his defensive work. If there would be a better CB partner for him now, like Nesta, then he would be even better.
The problem is that he now (esp. with Oddo) has another CB next to him that he can't rely on. That results in him being uncomfortable because he knows he needs to make the work of two CBs and that may look like he's playing worse, even though he is not. When he plays with Nesta it's the opposite, he's comfortable and can rely on someone else, that makes him even stronger and he has more confidence then.

probably not for 2 years... i dont think he's worth enough yet

:tongue:

He would only interest the likes of Everton/Spurs/Valencia
Market wise , he is like Heitinga.

For me Thiago Silva is priceless, he should never leave Milan :proud:
He's so great this season, don't know if anyone thought he would be that good in his first full season in Milan. For me he is awesome and I'm really happy that he's a Milan player.

There are not a lot of great CB's our there, and those who are good aren't on the market. Selling him would be a mistake comparable to selling Pato. Silva is our future defensive general.

Silva seems to be a lot more loyal player than Pato for me. I don't see Pato playing for us for a long time unless lot of things change. He's already flirting with Ancelotti every 6 months and unless our squad improves I see him being tempted and leaving to Chelsea some time in future.

When I read the article bout Chelsea buying Duck and Silva I too realised that perhaps if I had to choose I would sell Pato. It takes more time to build solid backline and find strong partnership between CB.

Even though I like Pato very much and know that he is a future ballon d´or winner, I have to agree with you.

It is as you say very hard to find a competitive CB these days. Silva is one of our greatest finds the last decade.

I agree with the above comments Silva has been awesome, if i had to lose one of the players it would be Pato and Pato is not as loyal as Silva and has moaned a lot this season.

You can see that Silva cares a lot more and has a greater desire to win.
