In terms of time he is...in terms of personality/leadership, even Nocerino/Urby are ahead of him (at the end of the day both have to come in account in here, Milan's been lucky that all of the current senatori are leaders in one way or another, so that hasn't been an issue, but now it has to matter).
To be fair, I never thought Sheva had the personality of a captain or that of a leader. He was one of the finest goalscorers of his generation. If Pato somehow picks the piece of his career back and becomes what he has always promised to become, no reason why we won't offer him the captaincy.
Of course, this is all hypothetical. As of now, Thiago Silva is clearly being set up for the role. He knows that Galliani is dangling this carrot out to him, and if that makes him stay for a couple of years more, excellent.
Technically by caps after the senatori-
Bonera- 140
Pato- 135
Silva- 119
Abate- 101
Antonini- 97
If we went by minutes played, it's probably Thiago cause almost everyone of his are a full 90....
Our practice is not caps, but the time for which they've been at Milan. Gattuso would have naturally been ahead of Ambro had the practice been no. of caps.
Bonera is still half a season ahead of Pato I suppose.
