De Jong: "I'm stronger than I was before. Milan truly is a family."
Part 1 (of 2) of the interview with Nigel De Jong in Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I dedicated myself completely to overcoming the injury problem, and I've always tried to maintain a positive approach. It's not easy to work and sweat without being able to play, but it was necessary. It was a pity for everyone that I got injured in a delicate moment of the season, and important for my adaptation to Serie A. But it happened. Perhaps my body had given too much and was at the point of breaking down. I primarily thought about using the time to return to being stronger than I was before. I worked hard for this, and I have had great support from everyone at the club; team-mates, directors, fans. Milan truly is a family." :proud::proud:

"I don't think much about the tactical set-up. The numbers in the formations don't count much. The positions vary and the important thing is to move and act as a team: play united. I'm Nigel and and I interpret football in my own way. I have never compared myself to anyone. I'm only thinking about being myself. And like I said; I believe that a team is should be judged as a team. I have a lot of heart and I'm very motivated. I’m working for my team-mates. That's what I can give to the team. That's what I do in every match."

"If I feel like a leader? Leader is a very big word, but I like it. You don't need to wear the captain's armband to be a leader. It's about what the team-mates think of you and how you behave when you're on the pitch."

"If there's a Milan player that has impressed me more than the others? No, it's the atmosphere here at Milan that impresses me. I can see that many youngsters have improved in this period. There's a positive atmosphere, and we're working well. Everybody is working hard and that's the most important thing."

De Jong: "We are in progress. Balotelli is a completely different person now."
Part 2 (final part) of the interview with Nigel De Jong.

"What it's like to be with Balotelli every day? It's fun. He's a great player and he has grown a lot. I was with him at Manchester City, and I remember the things that he said. Sometimes he would say and do silly things. But it's different here; he has changed completely - 360 degrees. I think that it's very important for him to have returned to being close to his family and friends, and be in an environment that loves him. He's another person now. He laughs and makes jokes like all of us do, but he doesn't do anything wrong."

"We're in progress, but when you decide to count on youngsters you need to give them time. But if you think about how much money the big clubs have spent on signing class players, then you can see that there's a difference, but we must not give up. Milan have a project, and it's based on youngsters, just like Ajax are doing. They give a chance to the youngsters.
Even though I grew up at Ajax, I don't care about playing beautiful football. My objective is to achieve success. However, there are many different ways to achieve success."

"Who the favorite to win the Scudetto is? Do you see what's written on this shirt? Milan. What do you think my answer could be?"

I still remember posters unhappy and cleearly unimpressed with galliani because he was a role player at city

he is one of those best value/cost ( whatever) players in seriea, it coincided with the retirement of gattuso cant bring him before that.

Stay healthy please
god save ligaments (his and his opponents)

players like him, pazzini and a great CB usually decides a big Champions league match :star:

Off Topic : think about going out to have couple of beers with him

Hmm doesn't 360 degrees mean he is back to where he started?

Or it means that Balo looked at what was right in his life than looked back on the bad things that happened in the past, and he left the bad habits in the past and kept moving forward as a better man

I think it's more that instead of Balotelli being the opposite of what he was, he's had a complete transformation - which incorporates his old self and more.
