Gazzetta is a decent publication, but they're a clear #2 behind Sky w accuracy.

So Id take these with some caution.

sky. milan channel.

If just scared that juventus will go in tomororw and offer Verona the same as us, and that's it, done deal.

It the reports are true that they have agreement with the player, they just have to match whatever offer we put on the table.

I just hope Galliani meets with sogliano soon and finds an agreement with Verona before they reach an agreement

if they match our offer, then ya.... it'll come down to what Iturbe wants (assuming Verona even accepts 28m... which I highly doubt they would reject)

28m is a bit of an overpay, but what the fuck.... you wanna play ball, you gotta pay. make a statement.

but like others said... there better be another 20 or so for midfield

Well at this point we just gotta hope juventus won't offer more than the 21-25 they are supposedly offering now, and Verona don't budge and take quags or marrone allowing the cash to drop...

If they have another offer rejected tomorrow then I'll be more confident of out chances, but Galliani better get his ass in there soon before it's too late

sometimes
Gazzetta - Matri could be swapped with Vrsaljko from Genoa

That'd be great...too bad Matri earns like 3m/yr
Gazzetta - Juventus and Marotta don't believe Milan's offer of 28m for Iturbe

Gotta be honest, win or lose... At least we worked the deal OUT of view from cameras and loads of interviews etc

Galliani been dead quiet. That's what gives me the most hope

That's what I'm hoping for too....honestly how do these journalists know if we have an agreement in place with iturbe?

I mean a few days ago they were saying inzaghi spoke to him and he have the okay to come here, etc.

The newspapers are making guesses for the most part IMO, and I'm sure Galliani isn't just sitting back and watching

Agreed. Without CL, stripping the squad down is essential but we need quality in the midfield and at the back as well. If we don't have another 10-15 million to spend on 2-3 quality additions after Iturbe it would show a real lack of foresight. If we keep Mexes and Zapata, along with Rami (hopefully) and Alex our CBs are set, with Bonera who can fill in at RB in a pinch. We would still need a quality LB or RB (depending on where you want to play De Sciglio) and a quality midfielder or preferably two of them with Monto injured and Honda not having a natural position in a 4-3-3.

The World Cup Group C's Best 11.

Keisuke Honda (Japan) - The only Japanese player to perform anywhere near capacity at this World Cup. His goal against Cote d’Ivoire was a stunning effort, and he followed it up with a man of the match performance against Greece. The AC Milan midfielder was often Japan’s only creative outlet and provided the assist for Japan’s goal against Colombia.

well if you be bringing in that sine wave argument, in recent years we've been in a trough rite? but our stay there has been prolonged by shit-ass decisions and signings. e.g. shit-ass decision made most recently was keeping allegri ahead of the 2013-2014 season and the shit-ass signing to accompany that was matri.

these people are operating as though its their goal to keep us down in the dumps forever.

what's that? you cant be down in the dumps forever? boi I swear our management was trying to prove you wrong for a long time now.

I feel you...perhaps getting old as fuck has broadened my perspective.

In the 2000's it was us that won the CL twice.....Barca (2), Real(2), Munich, Manure Porto and Liverpool. In that decade we also won a scudetto. Granted our team was much better back then....but so was football in general imho. It was of a higher standard and more competitive.

In this decade we already won a scudetto and this is our first non-CL year. Keep in mind that we had a non CL year in 2009 even with Dinho, Dorf, P!rlo Gattuso etc. So I think the sinusoidal distribution of results is quite applicable.....Again if Serie A is your only yardstick then yes we are quite shit and infinitely behind Juventus....but to me, especially since calciopoli, I really don't rate Serie A, and I suspect that :g: and :b: much prefer success in the CL as well.

What we haven't had since iBra left is a marquee player.....I'm hoping that either Mastour or SES becomes a bonna fide superstar because the odds on Balo being that guy are getting slimmer with time. We have 0 superstars and this is mildly alarming for a club of our stature. I say mildly because I feel that as incompetent as they seem, management recognises this. Without a star face we lose more of our attraction and it makes sense that with the departure of Kaka - who is just a shadow of his old glorious self - that the Iturbe bid would be as outlandish as it sounds. As much as we insult them :b: and :g: actually aren't idiots

That's the most idiotic idea I've heard in a long time, a predictive model for young players. Training, form, team composition, injuries can all vastly affect players careers, the type of shit you can't predict

yeah can build it all into a model. It's done and very effective. 100% no. b ut it reduces error

No.galliani will buy pepe and padoin from juve to support them as tevez's case, galliani bought matri 12m when juve have 6 attacker. Galliani is idiot when compare with marrotta. Galliani told that milan spent less money to buy niang than pogba haha(about total fee)

Iturbe for 28 million sounds overpriced to me. We shouldnt be buying players whom we may not be able to sell 3 years later for a significant profit. Yes yes, all clubs are selling clubs these days. That has to go into any transfer evaluation.

Unless this is someone who can provide an immediate impact of the Ibra nature. Iturbe is certainly not that.

So the guys over a statsbomb built a predictive model for young attacking players, and the results are pretty telling. I don't have the variables and inputs for the models, and I HOPE that Milan has an analytics department that does something similar.

There are only four hits in Serie A:
Adem Llajic
Bruno Fernandes
Domenico Berardi
Manolo Gabbiadini

Notably absent is Iturbe.

BTW, Alvaro Morata hits higher than any single player on the model, and frankly, I'm not surprised.

I really hope Milan doesn't base decisions on such analytics.

Thats why people want lamela or shaquiri for that price. I would take ljiajic and a creative mid like cigarini for under 20 mil.

Shaqiri, definitely. Lamela is nowhere near that level. He's just like Iturbe - a prospect.

The whole situation is strange, it's rare to see Milan and Juve in a direct bidding war. Both clubs (And Inter) have always been good at finding mutual agreements to avoid this.

Ofcourse we have no idea whats really going, but still...
