I am not saying Suarez is overrated, but people here do overrate him, when they mention him being more valuable and more important than Messi.

The guy is hands down the best CF in the world so its natural to praise him.
And for me his presence made the transformation of this Barca possible.
Its no coincidence that both Messi & Neymar play better when Suarez is moving like a tornado for 90 minutes.

Suarez has always been a horrible finisher, praising Buffon for his imcompetence is not a good excuse. Neymar was cruising past Juve, if you did not noticed that I am sorry, I cannot help.


and those good moments= goals for the team. And the first goal was created after Messi changed the attack from one flank to other with his pass. His run architected the second and he was the organiser of the third goal. If you look it from Messi meter, yes a decent game, from normal standard, it was a good game, as good as the other two part of front three.


I am sorry but it seems we saw two different finals, Maradona was heavily marked, and was quite subdued, playing a safer game. He was no way dictating the game. He had key moments which led to the first and third goals.

I think you might be confusing the 1990 final with the 1986 final. In 1986 he was closely marked by Matthaus but found enough space to build attacks that eventually wore down the tight, well-organised German defense. In 1990 he was not good in the final but played well in the other matches leading up to it.

Messi started playing well in the second half of the season. First half he had the playmaker role but even then had some mediocre performances. Barcelona's success this season is on Suarez and his hard-work up front. Had he not come we would have seen the Barcelona of last season who played well against small teams but got owned against the big ones.

Now I want Suarez to leave Barca so Messi and Neymar can go back to flat-track bullying La Liga and being sexually assaulted by real teams.

no it was not an exciting final. Italian sides playing in a big finals, never was, never has been never will be exciting. They need other teams to spice things.
Today's final was not great, but it was a dominant Barca final, where the best team in the world toyed with the Italian Champions.

I like Messi a lot. He's one of my favorite players but he is not on the level he was years ago. Years ago he was a monster, now he can be contained a lot easier if there isn't a CF to pull defenders away from him. The world cup is evidence of that and Barcelona last year as well before he got injured.

Suarez is the one pulling defenders. He is there to make Neymar and Messi have an easier time attacking and not getting closed down as much. He has to play the dirty role upfront so other players get freedom to move around. Look no further than their first game where Barcelona got defeated 3-1 and Suarez was not in form due to just making his debut for Barcelona that day. Once Suarez adapted they were able to defeat Atletico Madrid who had given both them and Madrid trouble last season (as well as this season). They also defeated every team they came across in the UCL with ease. Messi had a brilliant season overall but he also had a good CF to help him and that is something I don't overlook.

I'm aware Messi was injured for a couple months last year but it doesn't excuse his laziness and his complacent attitude this year.

Maradona > Messi anyday. Diego had grit and transformed an average team into a very good one. I don't see Messi doing that with Argentina or Napoli in the 80's.
