That is a poor poor move. Musah as DM? Kid is only 20 and I don't think his positional awareness is amazing

I'm a big fan of Musah.

Looking at his defensive stats when he wasn't really tasked with playing as a DM, isn't the best way to look at him.

He's going to transition into playing DM. He's been played as a RM, RW, and CM mostly.

Gattuso was the one who really began to get the best out of him. He will surprise people.

Musah is actually not a bad tackler, just not a super industrious one in terms of quantity according to stats, his success rate of dribblers tackled last year (67%) is higher than that of Krunic (32%) and also Bennacer (59%, Bennacer had 43% at Empoli, one year older than Musah).
Where he lacks more is Blocks (Krunic is really strong here) and Interceptions.
When it comes to arial duels he has a worse success rate than Bennacer and Krunic (both roughly 50% while Musah 44%) but he goes in a lot of aerial duels, more than Bennacer, comparable to Krunic.

Edit: He also is a lot lower when it comes to recovered loose balls, some of the stats might be influenced by the formation.

Not sure.... DM is arguably one of the toughest positions on the pitch. Have to have football IQ to be able to play there.

Hard to transition you either have it or you don't.

How many games over 90 minutes have you seen from Musah in the last two years?

Just a question so that we can assess how well-founded your evaluation is.
I saw him at the world cup, but generally speaking I don't really rate national team football on the same level as club football. I don't watch La Liga, it is the most boring league in top5. My concern comes from 3 things: unimpressive highlights, woeful stats, horrendous match ratings. Do you think this is good enough?

Also worth mentioning that his playtime is increasing, but his value is on a decline.

I don't care about Gattuso rating him highly. I love Rino, but he is a bad coach. He picked Biglia instead of Locatelli, which is the same position as Musah. 108 games for Valencia is good on paper, yes, I agree. Funny thing is Salad has 140 games for us, and actually with 8 more games, he will be in our top100 players with most matches. Doesn't mean anything, Salad sucks ass.

How many Valencia matches have you seen in the last 3 years?

Trust me when I tell you, I wish Musah to be successful, have a career with us like Seedorf had. I truly wish that. But currently, the more I see about Musah, the more I am doubtful.

That.
He’s Pioli’s “at least we ain’t bleeding anymore” man. The default setting when things ain’t going right.

And I’m 63% sure we’ll have to resort to the “factory settings” within 2 months into the season. Because the profiles he’ll field in the middle won’t give the expected satisfaction as a unit.

What's up brother? Are you enjoying the mercato?

Well if things don't work out, musah will be one of the scapegoats.

I'd take fratessi over musah/ loftus butt cheek

FM fb group says Milan liked Samardzic but the money is gone. Now Furlani will try to find basically free players and possibly an investment for a young cf.

They say the money spent from 40mln that Cardinale put out not including Tonali sale is way less then those 40mln and Furlani is restricted. That Maldini wanted to sell other players but they decided for one big sale.

So according to them unless we make great sales now the money is out.
I don't believe this at all. I am pretty sure we are going to sign at least 3 more players and the sales will be Origi, Salad and Messias.

We are going to get humiliated again by inter badly. Their midfield would absolutely **** us again.
Inter are stronger. Midfield wins battles
Ours is still weak.
Plus lauraro destroys us every time. I really hope thiaw makes incredible stridesl, never been the biggest Tomori fan and kalulu was ass juice last year

Right now on paper Inter and Napoli if they keep Osihmen with us and Juve also contending. If every one of our transfers work out and if they mesh quickly we have a chance but a slow start would be disastrous and we have a tough schedule to begin with.
Agree. Inter with samardzic, barela, miky, kebab, fratesi...has best midfield.

We have way too mcuh new players. I dont trust pioli he ll make it work.

most of his touch compilations i saw were of him putting his head down and running with the ball. dont exactly want that in my DMs.
i feel like reijnders and rlc would thrive with a responsible DM that knows how to protect the centerbacks and avoid giving the ball away uselessly when in possession and although physically gifted, nothing seems to suggest musah is the kind of midfielder i have envisioned we need

FB ref stats
Aged 18 Musah actually had much lower tackle success but higher interceptions and blocks which shows that he had different tasks and/or is still not settled in his ways. Imo this also majorly screws his overall average stats.

Edit: Age 18 not 2018

Roger Federer is the GOAT

Players who are not included in Milan's project for next season will be out of the list if they remain. Not a punitive but factual act (17 foreign players + 8 formats)

Can someone be kind enough to predict our CL list basically?

Who will miss out based on numbers?

I thought Salah was all about 🎄 ?
Well, I in Salah's place as a Muslim who is a role model for many young people I would not take such pics. Everyone is responsible for their actions and deeds and the matter is up to God. The reason why I posted that with Musah was that I was very surprised that such a young player posted something like that on Instagram.

Musah gets compared to players that are 4/5 years older like Hjulmand or Dominguez, and while of course you have to decide between them it is still not a fair comparison. A 20 yo player can be thought things. Apart from Romero he would be the youngest player in the first team, Okafor is 3 years older for example and it feels like he is seen as more trainable in comparison.
When we bought Salad, he was 19. He sucked ass, but the general consensus was that he is young, he has plenty of room to grow, etc. Fast forward to the present, and now he is 24 years old, and still the same mediocre player. Being young doesn't automaticaly mean that certain player reach the level we desire. And I have to say, currently, he is a below average midfielder.

I mean in my comment, I also wrote that he is 20 years old, so has time and opportunity to be a better player. But he has to work his ass of to at least reach the level of Pobega.

So you are talking about musah bad things, and you watched him 2-3 times?

He is just a boy, he needs time. I don't expect alot from him in his first season. We will sign another mf, i am sure about that.

Apart from Salad being always seen as an utility player from the statistical side Musah is a top 4 league starter not a Belgium league semi starter. That also influences the percentiles in the comparison graphs by the way as he gets compared to top 5 league players while the graph for Reijnders compares him to to the "next 8 leagues".
Also if you look at individual years his stats change pretty significantly, his strengths and weaknesses almost switch places in some years. I´d take his averages with a huge grain of salt at the moment, however potential seems to be there.
