I thought we were ruthless?

I honestly think they are trying for Klopp. He's not going to Barca, I think they want to keep Xavi despite what he said, not Real, he's ruled out the EPL, and I don't see him at Bayern.

Maybe Bayern convince him? Maybe PSG convince him? Maybe he takes over Germany after the Euros? I dunno.

But the connections are there considering Redbird worked closely with Fenway.
If klopp is coming then I don't care if pioli wins europa and magically serie a this year, pioli should be sacked effective immediately. Klopp to win treble with us the following year

I think they want to try to get Klopp, they will give Pioli another year. Klopp likes a challenge and loves Sacchi.

I'm not saying they'll succeed, but I can see them seeing Klopp as an opportunity worth trying for.
This is within realm of possibility since we know gerry has ties with fsg, but i think klopp is NT bound

I read somewhere Pulisic value is now back around the 50-60M mark.

Theo is a 100M+ player

Can't really argue with the rest.

Is someone offers us 25M for Thiaw we should take it.

Not against klopp coming. But don't forget he began this season in the EL... not for the first time either.

Basically do not be expecting lots of trophies. He spent a decade at Liverpool and iirc only won 2 major trophies.

I feel Johnathan David is the best striker option. Also like the idea of scalivini if we can use De Ketelar as a bargaining chip.

Competing against Pep does that to you.

He had 97 points in one season and then 92 points in another season and didn’t win the league.

He also needed time to rebuild that shambles Liverpool which took a couple of years. We are already close to a finished product.

Who is he going to compete against in this league?

Washed up Allegri? Inzaghi? De Rossi? lol Klopp shits on all of them.

Not a fan of Klopp because he’s a whiny tit but the trophies argument doesn’t make sense. Guy was 2 matches away from a quadruple 2 years ago and recently won a trophy as well.

Klopp at his Liverpool tenure:

8 trophies

Pioli in his whole career:

1 trophy…

Okay fine, I’ll be nice.

2 trophies including Allevi-Under17

So I’m sure trophy wise we will be much better off compared to Pioli whom winning even one trophy was the miracle of the millennium.

Klopp said he's taking a year off. So the question becomes what do you do in the meantime?

They've cooled on Motta, RDZ, and all the other options. It looks like Motta is going to take over Juve--though other rumors are Conte to Juve according to other sources? I dunno, I'm not that dialed in to other teams rumors.

Klopp has shown that he prefers projects. Liverpool was not this incredible machine when he took over, he's done a very good job there, there's a reason why Liverpool fans are in mourning over him leaving.

Again, I think the allure of Milan, his love of Sacchi, and the relative strength of our club and squad is something he'd enjoy working with. It preserves his credibility with his "brand" as well, but most importantly, I think the links between FSG and Redbird are what provide the sorts of contacts that would make them think they can go after it.

I'm not saying that they will succeed.

Or maybe they give Pioli another year because they're actually satisfied with how things are going? I think the narrative will change dramatically depending on how things go in the next few weeks against Roma, Inter, and Juve. I think if they keep Pioli next year, they're trying for Klopp.

How was this not given a pen?

Who cares if it was a kids mistake, you can’t do stuff like that.

That's a Dest mistake.

Literally. Dest did that against Chelsea, but at least he did it in the middle of the pitch.

Daniele longo wrote few days ago that Juve is in advanced talk with Motta, Napoli is pushing for Conte, but he wants Milan more than Milan wants him. He is waiting for us to see what we will do.

RDZ- there were never rumours about him, managment likes him but i dont think they will ever pay for his release clause.

In the summer there would be a lot of change of coaches and also competive market, Juve, Napoli, Bayern, Barca etc.

As things stands, i think Pioli is staying another year and hopefully we get a real top coach, i wish for Klopp.

Doubt that - it was mostly just Rudiger in his skin.
Rudiger is like Deebo - when he comes around, Haaland be quiet, when he is gone 'he be talking again'

Today they had no way to get him the ball and the goals didnt come from any advantage he caused. I expect something different to free him up and I also expect City to be much better with the ball.

It definitely wasn't City's or Peps show-off game last night. Nice to see that not only Pioli relies on individual brilliance to bail him out of sticky situations tho.

I think Carlo out-coached Pep brilliantly, admittedly helped by two deflected goals in the first half. But let's see what Pep will cook in England. EPL teams at home are hell to everyone.

I don’t know man he broke the scoring record last year and is leading scorer this year. It’s the absence of KDB that hurts his numbers.

Inzaghi would score similar number of goals as Haaland in that City team .. any good striker would.. haaland is a top top finisher ofcourse but no where near best player in the world status.

Even 39 year Ronaldo gets 40+ easily in that City team..

I think the best chances came Real's way, playing City on the counter is working really well as of late.

Modric is certainly a genius, his exit turned the game around dramatically. There was a thought and balance in Real's actions, as for me he and Pirlo are the two best regists in the world over the past twenty years

As for the overall match in Madrid, Guardiola once again showed that he is the best coach in the world at the moment and Ancelotti is the best in his ability to work with a stellar squad, where the main rule is do no harm. When you work with guys of the level of Maldini, Nesta, Kaka, Modric, Vinicius, Benzema, that's enough to make history. But to defeat Guardiola's mechanism at the end of two matches, this is not enough in eight cases out of ten. I think there will be a remake of last year's game in Manchester (4-0)

What do you think which players will leave us? I think it could be Mirante, Caldara, Kjaer, Kalulu?, Florenzi?, Pobega?, Giroud.

For Kjaer and Kalulu a new CB could arrive
For Florenzi we could buy Jimenez
For Pobega we xould buy a new CDM (Fofana?)
For Giroud a new CF will arrive.

Florenzi has another year of contract and he's definitely not going anywhere. And we won't be able to sell an age-old player with a big salary to anyone. So the Calabria-Florenzi couple will be with us for another season

We already bought Jimenez.

Beside Kalulu (who unfortunately injuries ruined him) and OliG (as a sub) the others can go...maybe Florenzi could stay for his experience and mature face.
Kjaer is finished, Mirante and Caldara are literally a waste of money and space and Pobega is at max 7-8-9-10th place team level

What are you talking about?
Pippo had a much better team than Haaland & still barely made 15 goals.
Pep's tactical approach is usually anti ST & it mainly show during the big games.
He rolled most of the time with a false nine & even with a midfielder playing there.
Haaland is a fucking machine but he is yet to take big games by the balls like Mbappe, Messi, CR7 & Benz used to do & he has time since he is still 23 years old.
