Madrid are going to be Sooo fresh when they play against us.
This October has been so shit. Rip to all those people.

Would also like to join my voice to this to show support to the people of Bologna, for all the sunny sky they’ve had over the weekend.

In preseason, Fonseca made errors during the evaluation of our squad.

Fonseca decided that Adli was our worst midfielder, and we refused to sell Musah to Napoli for 20mil, as the American was untouchable for him. This is a clear mistake, Adli would be our 3rd best midfielder currently, and a quality rotation option behind Fofana and Reijnders.

Fonseca decided to not trust Kalulu. Didn't even give him much chance in preseason. We gifted him to Juve, and now he is one of their most important player. He is a much better player than Emerson, that is for sure.

Management deserve the blame as well. Signing Tammy, who can't score to save his life. Signing Pavlovic... Man, I really thought he can be a tank in defense. He doesn't have the brain for a CB. He is a headless chicken, too proactive. And being too proactive is bad when you play as a defender. You don't have to always look to get involved, to be in a defensive action, sometimes you just need to relax, and sit back. Pavlovic doesn't know how to do that. Also his atrocious first touch, and passing makes Paletta look like prime Nesta...

After the derby win, I was pro Fonseca, wanted to give him more time. Now we have seen him in 12 games, and we are not good enough. Benching Leao against Napoli was a shockingly bad decision, if we factor in that we didn't have Theo, Reijnders, and Pulisic. You start with Musah, RLC, Chuk, Okafor, but you bench Leao? You idiot...

This is a sack worthy record btw... We have a much better squad compared to the banter era ones, yet we have as bad results.
This whole list is sack worthy. Not one decent coach in our last 9 picks, that is actually unbelievable for one of the biggest clubs in the world. That a club like Milan appointed coaches like Fonseca, Giampaolo, Pioli, Gattuso, Montella, Mihajlovic and so on in the last decade... This is incompetence to the highest degree. Somehow I can't imagine this happening at Real.

What a game Juve - Parma... Parma should've scored at least 4 goals, Juventus' defence without abremer is in shambles, as I predicted when he got injured.

Fun (not so much for us) fact: Parma, despite their positive playstyle, has only 1 win in 10 matches this season. Guess against who.

Inter was not so good today but were helped AGIAIN hugely with ridiculous red for Empoli at 0:0.

We are trailing CL spots by some margin already, if we don't beat Monza & Cagliari season is over, unless Fonseca's replacemant goes on a serious run.

I can’t think of another club that appointed this many bad coaches in a row. But now you can actually see the common denominator and that’s money. All these guys were cheap.

Watching the table and fORm, it seems to me we're in a fight with Juve + maybe Lazio & Fio if they can keep up for that 4th spot. Atalanta's in great form and Inter will continue their routine wins. It's now or never for Conte, he's got a clear path this season to scudetto. Will be deserved none the less. I fear we'll be the Napoli of last season. Juve maybe also, their play is POOR.

Real want to be the best every year.

Our owners (including Silvio towards the end though I believe ego and control is also part of it for him) have been all about spending minimally and hoping for the best.

Only the Chinese may have authorized spending on a proper coach but the two bozos in charge at the time thought they could do the job by just splashing the cash.

Man, was the match that bad???

One more day of training ( and I already cancelled my Paramount plus - not because of Milan) so not sure I will be able to see the replay.

If Tonali returns then who do think can play a trequatrtista?

I think Reijndeers of course but he will have to rotate in pivot when we need a more creative and attacking #10

Diaz would fit the bill. As will Guler. Tadic in his prime would have been good.
Diaz no, cmon..

On Seinfeld they invented a Xmas holiday called Festivus, (for the rest of us), whose main rite was the "airing of grievances" which I'm about to reveal mine. It will be my longest post ever, to rival our friend Samaldinho.

I knew we weren't going to be good with the announcement of Fonseca as coach, the essence of mediocrity and someone that nobody would have guessed after the fans' reactions to Lopetegui. The most I knew about Fonseca was that he drove away Dzeko to Inter and Florenzi to PSG, two of the most loved players by Roma fans so had this tough guy reputation that at the end of the day was counterproductive and damaging to the club.
He has now alienated our two top players in record time and has probably lost the locker-room already.
My theory is that players have no respect for him because, like the fans, expected a more established coach to be hired and were probably as disappointed as we were with him.

This was an off season with a ton of good coaches available, a chance for us to get someone with a proven record of success, to show that we're a serious club but we blew it spectacularly. Conte was begging to join us and finally moved to Napoli when he realized we had no interest. Other candidates like Motta, Sarri, Allegri, De Zerbi, Palladino weren't even considered. By the way, Conte after match one when they lost 3-0 in their opener at Verona switched to a 4-3-3 after starting 3-5-2 to show that he's flexible and adapts his formations based on the players' aptitudes, same with Palladino at Fiorentina while Fonseca has gone with 4-2-4 and now 4-2-3-1 neither of the two formations ideal for us. At his press conference Fonseca said that he's pleased with how we played even if we lost, and that we're still in the scudetto race if we keep playing this way. One should never be pleased after a loss, it's not a mentality that I want from a coach. And we are defensively inept, a problem that has not been fixed from day one. If we lose at Monza I would take one of Sarri or Allegri who are professional coaches and not a fake one like Fonseca.

Everyone is at fault for the situation we find ourselves in but I blame Ibra the most who described himself as the lion, the rest kittens, that he makes the decisions and is responsible for them. Not wanting a manager type as coach was an asinine declaration because, ego aside, you should want whoever gives you the best chance to succeed, that's true in every profession but this megalomaniac only cares about his image, the thing that I have always hated about him. The next is Gerry who I despise greatly, has no knowledge of the sport, wonder if he even watches the games on TV and hires a donkey like Ibra plus a president, (Scaroni), and CEO, (Furlani), one a lobbyist and the other an accountant, not nearly as competent as Gadzidis. Moncada has failed also because he seems to favor the same type of players whether they can be meshed into a team or not, and his total disenterest for Italians or technically gifted players that are not giants. D'Ottavio remains a mystery and I still don't know what he does exactly or what he looks like. Among the worst front offices in all Serie A.

Our summer mercato has not been as productive as we first believed. Fofana has been decent but Morata is a striker that doesn't score goals which should be his main function. Abraham a player perennially injured, one of the worst finishers ever, and as it turns out an asshole for taking a penalty kick that should have gone to Pulisic.
Pavlovic an abject failure and Royal a mystery as to why Milan was so keen to get him, he basically sucks at every aspect of the game, so much money wasted. We failed to address our two most important needs: DM and Leao back-up, so how can anyone say that we have a great scouting system and SD?
We have 14 points in 9 matches, a midtable result for a midtable squad that has too many holes and not enough good players.

As everyone knows you need to spend money to make money and De Laurentiis realized this after finishing 10th last season. Hired Conte and gave him carte blanche on transfers spending close to 40 million for Buongiorno, 35 for Lukaku, 30 for McTominay a player that I like alot, and 28 for David Neres who hasn't unseated Politano yet.
Yesterday Napoli didn't play great, they probably were tired from having played on Saturday and did just enough to win. Their defense had hardly any problem with our offense, in fact I only remember one shot on goal from us in the second half, handled us easier than they did Lecce, a team that we should be better than even with all our absences. Kvaraskavelia is becoming my favorite Serie A player, I like everything about him and he showed me again that he possesses incredible stamina by his defensive effort.

I was sure that we would lose because of our absences which Fonseca didn't help with the benching of Leao and Tomori and by minute 5 the match was practically over. They allowed us to dominate possession which consisted mostly of lateral or back passes but never allowed us to be dangerous in the final third except in a few occasions.
I used to look forward to our matches with great hope and anticipation but now I watch with dread waiting for our collapse at some point, some stupid mistake that let the other team score and yesterday even Maignan was guilty of that.
I hate these motherfuckers who have taken the joy to watch Milan out of me.

It was just a terrible mercato.
Only good player is Fofana.

Pavlovic, Morata, Abraham, Emerson are so average.
Letting cdk, Kalulu, Maldini, Simic and Saelemakers leave was also a mistake
But we want all of them out

If even Pep Guardiola, with all his status, needed time to build Manchester City, Paulo Fonseca certainly deserves patience as he shapes Milan in his vision. When Pep joined City, he already had a reputation as one of the world’s top managers, having won Champions League titles with Barcelona and multiple league titles with Bayern Munich. Yet, even with his immense authority and influence, he didn’t achieve immediate success. In his first season, City invested £167 million in players like John Stones (£47.5 million), Leroy Sané (£37 million), and Ilkay Gundogan (£20 million) – players who fit Pep’s demanding, high-pressing style – but they still ended the season without a trophy. It wasn’t until after the next summer, spending an additional £285 million on Ederson, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva etc.

If a coach of Pep’s caliber, with unlimited backing and resources, needed time to build his project, Fonseca – who lacks both the reputation and financial power Pep had – faces an even greater challenge. Fonseca is attempting to establish a new, high-intensity system with Milan under tighter scrutiny and a more limited budget. Like Pep, who benched Joe Hart and Yaya Toure for instance, Fonseca needs to prioritize players who fit his tactical vision over individual stars, which may mean benching high-profile names who don’t align with his style.

Milan must understand that to achieve lasting success, Fonseca requires the freedom to shape the squad around his system, even if the results aren’t immediate. If even Pep, with all his authority, needed time to create a cohesive, title-winning team, Fonseca should be given the same patience to build a Milan that can compete at the highest level.

Pioli is a better manager than Fonseca.

At least with Pioli, we were competing for scudetto for first half of the season in all but 1 season under him.
Both are really average, decide whos the worst, is barely impossible.

My choices would be Sarri, Xavi, Conceicao, Terzic, Allegri in that order. I feel like Allegri wouldn't change much. Bigger chance he flounders than recreate his Juve success.

Knowing this management they'll go hire Tudor.
I think Xavi is kinda overrated

Kind reminder - Napoli were midtable last season.
Kind reminder, they spent €24M on a real coach and another €150M to improve their squad.

We spent €4M on Fonseca and another €70M to boost our squad.

Our Management are clueless on which was more important:

It's sickening to lose ANY game at the San Siro. Doesn't matter who it's against. This one hurt even more because if the implications on the standings.

With that said, although we made some DUMB mistakes in the back (what else is new i guess)...the performance was not bad. As a matter of fact, it was one of the better ones this season. It was always going to be a huge uphill battle when conceding after 5 minutes. Both our CBs were just in outer space on that play. It's very hard to accept how mediocre this defensive line is. They commit mistakes (not A mistake...but mistakeS) in every game. Amateur ones at that too.

We can talk tactics and all that. But in the end, what happened on both goals had nothing to do with that or coaching. The players have to bare the responsibility. Those were normal situations. Nothing extraordinary from Napoli. Not like they had to work extra hard for either goal. We failed at the basics of defending yet again. And football is like this. It's decided on moments. 5 mins in, 1-0 down, Napoli clamped up and made it very difficult in front of their box. Even so, we created chances but didn't finish.

But it can't be the same story over and over. At some point, this has to be fixed. I don't know how, but we can't go into every game literally KNOWING that we'll concede at least a goal. It's insane!

Every goal in football is a mistake from defence

Pavlo is just here man he arrived in pretty much a warzone..got 4 days to gel and straight into starting 11

Thiaw is a sabotaged 23 year old talent who gets no trust from fodder fonseca and pioli

Also u noticed how we change the backline every single game?

Be reasonable

I agree. But many times mistakes are forced by good moves from the attacking team.
1st goal was a simple 10 meter vertical pass in front of Lukaku who was between TWO CBs and neither one marked him. Doesn't get much easier than that for an attacking team. They didn't even have to break a sweat to get a player alone in front of goal.

2nd goal looked impressive on first glance, but how is Kvara allowed to dribble 15 meters centrally from the side, amd not a single player steps up to intercept him. Even th3 shot went under Mike's hand. Good dribbling, decent shot....but again, way too easy.

Of course, defenders will make mistakes otherwise no goals will ever be scored. But the goals (and chances) we allow are just too easy. I guess the right way to say it is....we are too easily forced into mistakes. Whereas other teams, like Napoli vs us for example, made it VERY difficult for us. We had to work very hard to get a sniff at goal.

Agree with this. Can't build anything if the CB pairing constantly changes

The biggest sign that moncada is not our technical director but furlani is is that we dumpstered many moncada signings like saele adli kalulu to cash in for a quick buck.damaging our longterm health

There were so many options for a coach in the summer and they landed with Fonseca
