I absolutely agree with you.

I can see some weird, maybe even interesting loan moves. We have enough guys to insert into deals.

I keep harping on but I hope that Tammy fucks of and we can use Jovic to secure Jo David. It gives us some actual goal threat. We're shooting blanks and the Tammy experiment has failed.

You mentioned Cristante, if Adli or Salad don't want to come back, which wouldn't surprise me at all given their treatment. Getting Cristante and having Ben back at least gives us bodies in the middle, and sold defensive options in midfield.

The lack of a vice Deers really worries me still... Adli, come home, please forgive us.

I think we should absolutely try to loan Zirkzee, even if it's only a dry loan for 6 months.

I spat a lot on Zlatans behaviors. Glad he's able to admit an error after all tho. There might be hope for the future.
This was not Ibra admitting he was wrong, this is just typical protocol for handling a situation wrongly as a company. If it were for Ibra alone, I'm sure this post was never there.

Nah... Fuck him. He made his bed!!!

I'd actually like us to invest in a serious goal threat with potential for growth. I think a healthy David with Pulisic and Deers rips up Serie A.

Zirkzee wasn't prolific in SA and has flunked in England. There's potential sure, but let's wait and see on that one.

If Morata is a flop, go for Zirkzee in the summer perhaps. A player short on confidence and goals isn't what we need.

If your boss is a dick head at work, do you just put your head down and work harder for the good of the company?

Sure, it's the company that hands you your paycheck if you're a professional footballer, but let’s not kid ourselves – it's the fans who fund that paycheck by shelling out for overpriced tickets, merch, and pay-TV subscriptions. They’re the ones footing the bill, so maybe start with owing them some actual effort.

Sulking at work while demanding pay raises that would make a hedge fund manager blush? In any other job, that’s a fast track to unemployment. And, as a side note, it’s also the main reason why ticket prices, merch, and subscriptions are skyrocketing. So why exactly are we supposed to cheer for players getting paid obscene amounts of money just for kicking a ball around to begin with?

Just to be clear, this applies to everyone at the club, not just the players. Also, comparisons between pro football and common work environments don't hold up, in my opinion, because in pro football, employees often make more money than their boss, which is pretty uncommon I dare to say.

So, yes, players should be able to give 100% – whether they’re bosom buddies with their boss or would rather ghost him at a party.

The thing with Zirkzee is that he is a better version of Mehdi Taremi (currently at Inter) that was a mainstay in Conceição’s starting eleven at Porto for many years.
Taremi-Evanilson was his go-to pair for.. id say at least the last three years.

AC Milan’s new head coach Sergio Conceicao has spoken of the great pride he feels at taking over, but insisted there is an awful lot of work to do.

It has been a whirlwind 24 hours for Milan, who decided to sack Paulo Fonseca immediately after the 1-1 draw against Roma at San Siro on Sunday night, and they acted quickly to replace him.

Conceicao was announced as the new manager on a deal until 2026 though it is being reported that there is a break clause for the summer. He flew into Italy yesterday morning and took his first training session at Milanello in the afternoon.

The former Porto boss was unveiled to the media at a press conference this lunchtime and he spoke on stage alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Senior Advisor. His comments were relayed by MilanNews.

How proud do you feel, and how important will San Siro and the fans be?

“I’m proud. It’s a pleasure for me to come and work in such an important team. For me it’s a pleasure, a pride, a step forward in my career and that of my staff. The fans are the soul of the club.

“Without them it’s difficult to live and grow, and we have to respect these values and in this sense work and show that we are up to Milan. If they are here it’s not a good sign, it means that something didn’t go well.

“There’s not much time to work on the match against Juventus. We don’t complain, we don’t look for excuses.”

What are the concepts you will work on? Have you already spoken to your son?

“I have five children that I speak to every day. Francisco will be an opponent at a professional level, my son at home. We can change the system, after that there is all the spirit and mentality of quality, which is not negotiable.

“This hunger to get to the end of the game knowing that you have given everything to win it is not easy. I live the game intensely, and I want my players to do the same as me, just like the fans. This is the path to take. Their eyes must shine when they enter Milanello.”

Do you think Milan have more of a mentality problem, or is it purely tactical?

“There is no problem with one thing, there are many things that don’t work. Others prefer to talk about tactics, others about physical problems, others about mental problems. Paulo has had great periods here, others not so much, but this is part of the coach’s job.

“We always look for perfection, but it’s not possible. We play against quality opponents, both in Italy and in the Champions League, but we are prepared for this. But I don’t want to go into details.”

What is the difference between Conceiçao as a player and as a coach?

“It’s all different. When we are players we think we understand everything about football, but that’s not the case. We think about our garden. A coach doesn’t even sleep, for me last night it was difficult.

“The stress of wanting to know everything in here, the people, because everyone is important, the storekeeper, our president. We staff really want to get to know everything and everyone quickly, because time is short and we want to be present and active.”

AC Milan new coach Sergio Conceicao

What made you accept Milan?

“My situation with Porto was not an easy exit. For me the timing is not important. In the summer every week there was a club interested in me, they always talk, it’s normal, because news comes out that we can’t control.

“For me the timing of Milan was not important. It all happened very quickly. Why did I come to Milan? I’m coaching one of the best teams in the world. I couldn’t say no even if I had other situations that I respect a lot.”

What will your approach be with the players?

“It depends on the situation. It’s not that I have to change now, I’m 50 years old. Changing now is difficult. I’ve been a coach for 13 years, I didn’t start yesterday.

“They know they have someone direct in front of them. There will always be 11 happier players, those who go on the bench a little less. But this is group management, direct communication, maximum training.

“They can also be a little sadder because they don’t play, but this must give strength, like pressure, which is part of the big clubs. So we are confident of doing a good job, but words remain words, results count.”

What do you think you’ll change?

“I go with my beliefs with the team in terms of organisation and tactics. For me, football is simple: there’s a goal where you score and another where you don’t. For me, this is the dominant football. For me, tiki taka is putting it [the ball] in.”

Can this team get to the Champions League?

“We will do everything to get there. There is a lot of work to do. There are players who cannot play at the moment, important players in these first six months, but we have to work with those we have available.

“I have faith in all of them, and those who are available, let’s go and fight to get to this match and win it. It is clear, it is better to have them all available, but injuries are part of football.”

Will you keep the concept that all players are the same? Have you already spoken to Theo and Leao?

“For me they are the same in how I manage the dressing room. I don’t make a difference if he is 17 or 37, it depends on what he does in training. In the dressing room they know that the discussion is the same for everyone.

“Afterwards there are personal discussions. I like to understand the whole history of the players I have available, I go and see who has a father, a mother, there is a history behind to have certain behaviors within the team.”

What kind of coach will you be?

“Everyone has their job to do. I like to go into every department, but this is my job. I will speak to the management when I need to, they can come when they want, every day, because we all want to row in the same direction.

“We want one thing: for Milan to get to the Champions League. There is a title to play for, while in the Champions League there are two important games against Girona and Dinamo Zagreb.”

What about the mercato?

“The first thing I said is that I want to know the first team and Milan Futuro well. It’s not fair because I don’t know the others well, then we’ll talk about it and see if we can fix something.”

Are there similarities and differences, and difficulties, that you expect to find compared to your previous experience at Nantes?

“They are different situations. The period is the same, it’s true, it was a huge job there in France, where the squad was different, the environment different, everything. It’s true the situation is similar but it’s not the same, because the pressure is different.

“This pressure, this environment must give us an extra boost, not the opposite. We must take this with responsibility, work at our best, humble, we know that we have a difficult job ahead but very confident for what comes.”

Also, it comes after the media and Curva has blasted them.

But at least it did come.

Let's just not complain then and see each other in Serie B. Am I happy they sacked Fonseca, yes, was it overdue, yes. Is his replacement a long term solution to get back to consistent winning ways? Probably not likely. So I will continue to complain. What's so hard to understand?

Anyway let's give the guy a couple of months and see if he comes good. I still think he's a twat, I remember him from his playing days and didn't like him. Porto fans don't seem to like him much either, great exactly what we need in the spirit of togetherness.

Hate Fonseca or love him, he's shown to be the man in all of these shambles. He's the only with the courage to say things the way they are, to try to change things. He may be limited or someone we all believe isn't the standard for Milan, but the bunch of incompetent cowards did him dirty. He was shorthanded by from the beginning with this disjointed squad.

So Curva Sud was right 👍
Could not disagree more. The incompetence of the management is clear and yes they could deal with the situation differently. But to think they did him dirty is insanity to me. They gave him a chance and stuck with him for half a season. The season where we got 27 points in 17 games. And not only that they supported him when he diminished the value and got into fights with our star players. The same players who put in world class performances under Pioli and their national team coaches. Clearly he wasnt up to the task. And he probably is a good person but hes just not a good coach.

And dont even start with a disjointed squad. Yes the squad has huge holes but they finished easy 2nd last season while the whole squad was plagued by injuries. This team is more than good enough to be competing for scudetto after 17 games. But instead of any kind of self criticism this dick comes out and says "Im giving it my all but the players arent". Thats madness.

And so? The management didnt come out and say "we fully support our manager while he is delivering the worst Milan season in last 20years?" BOO FUCKING HOO. Cry me a fucking river.

I can see zirkzee becoming very good, with a new team. The talent is clearly there. A loan would be good

Sarri with experience in Serie A and winning trophies, vs Conceicao who does not have experience in Serie A should not be the same offer.

And asking for 6 months plus 1 full season is pretty normal for a manager with proper credentials
You can argue that but also argue the opposite depending on what you like to focus on. Conceicao is up and coming in comparison to Sarri or if we go after highlights Mancini is hard to beat etc. Imo they fall in the same tier in the end.

Grande Fonseca

You tried to instill balls in this shriveling club, with this lowlife classless management and openly revolting 'superstars'
can't wait for the next in line to fail as well as he will get no backing from management, staying here only for six months due to accounting manipulation, and fonesca's Madrid/derby wins will suddenly be revered

you were an average coach but you did your best and stood on both legs when media, players, and fan opinions all shat on you
and for that, you should be commended.

big balls fonesca
full thrust full trust

Just realized that Florenzi missed Fonseca's whole reign  Injured early in the pre-season and not a single minute in an official game.

And that is why many people wanted Conte as the preferred choice during summer.
Napoli are joint top 1 without any serious transfers, just with the change of attitude.
There were a lot of folks here hating on Conte coz “he sucks in CL”. Bitch please. We may not even qualify for CL let alone do well in that competition. Conte could have given us the 2nd star.

Very confusing statement. Coneicao makes Fonseca look better than Fonseca?
I was referring to bioli's chill and Mr. Nice Guy approach.

Conceicao is apparently even more demanding than Fonz.

So does he like 2 up front?
He ran either a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 depending on which players he had available but they were pretty much occupying the same spaces with the same dynamics with one striker dropping into the “10-area”.

Honestly I've no idea what the guys played previously. I remember him being touted in the summer.

Solidifying our middle and getting us scoring more is a must. He does that and I'm happy.

It would be nice to see a little investment is needed areas and some consistency.

Then let's assess I guess.

There are far too many to name past & present
They still call us the Italian Giants?

We earned that with 7 CL. Even when they put Fallen in front we are still Giants. The way Milan fans talk about us on here is like we are Spurs or Roma ffs.

We're fucking AC Milan. Too many have accepted our mediocrity with open mouths.

This "transitional season" and "year zero" and "once we get our stadium" is pure copium and hopium.

I get it, we all deal with things in different ways, but let's not forget that we're fucking legends of the game!!!

I don't wish an injury on anyone, even this dud.

When is Pulisic and Musah back?

I don't think I can handle playing with 4 FBs on the field much longer...

We do have a glorious past but have gone through the banter era, rose up to win a scudetto, and now are down again. Younger fans throughout Europe don't think much of us because history to them means very little while the older ones remember and want to get back to the good times.

My hope is that Milan becomes important again in the world, doesn't have to replicate the past because conditions are different, but fight for titles every season with a decent chance to win some of them.
