I can see zirkzee becoming very good, with a new team. The talent is clearly there. A loan would be good

The talent is there he is just so low confidence and given our situation I don't think we can afford another passenger

There are far too many to name past & present
We do have a glorious past but have gone through the banter era, rose up to win a scudetto, and now are down again. Younger fans throughout Europe don't think much of us because history to them means very little while the older ones remember and want to get back to the good times.

My hope is that Milan becomes important again in the world, doesn't have to replicate the past because conditions are different, but fight for titles every season with a decent chance to win some of them.

Younger fans care more about other things. Social trends have shown its changed and thats because they have more options now than ever before. This young generation that like football care more about individuals or the tactics. Younger fans not really caring about history hasn't really changed from your day through to my day and to the present day. They always have and always will care about the here and now and what have you done for me lately. Also they probably fed up of old fucks telling them back in my day...

Conceicao is a known hard-ass, no-nonsense, call-it-like-it-is manager.

The only question is does he go easy on these bitch ass players at first, then starts making demands in the summer OR just go full-Conte right away and possibly alienate players?

No way his football is going to work without getting rid of some less committed players first, and if it were me, Leao would be the first guy on the chopping block.
If you want to discipline world class players in a way that you embarras them and start 18 year old kids in their place then you better pray your method works otherwise you should be gone after the next game.

Unless its someone like Carlo you always choose talent before the coach.

Sergio was ok in his first press conference and I'm pleased that Ibra kept his mouth shot and didn't interrupt.
During the introduction Zlatan said that everyone is to blame for the way things went with Fonseca but to me he's the main culprit because he bragged about the choice and should pay the price.

Conceicao emphasized hard work over everything else to achieve success and that he decides who plays based on practices which I guess will be tough. Hopefully the message is understood and everyone will try harder for the good of the team. New beginnings are full of hope, and I'm hopeful as well to see clear improvements in the play and attitudes of some of squad that haven't given their all.

It's not clear whether Zlatan is just the spokesperson / front-end for the management. Did he really choose Fonseca or was it Moncada / Furlani? There were a lot of rumors in the summer saying that Zlatan wanted Conte but the others like Moncada / Furlani / Cuntinale didn't agree.

I mean Zlatan is annoying as F** in his current position. But are we sure he is to blame? If he is just a glorified spokesperson, then it won't change much to fire him...

On the other hand, if he was a major part of pushing for Fonseca to be hired, then F*** him.....

The current management situation at Milan is so unclear, we don't even know who is responsible for what...

Press conferences are what they are, words are empty unless they are backed up with actions.

Hard work is always essential if Conceicao emphasises it I hope he marries that ethic with the players natural playing position and ability.

And not in a weird strategic set up that inhibits the players natural ability. Otherwise all the hard work in the world will count for nothing. He has quite a test ahead of him I hope he is up to it and succeeds.

Those spoiled players deserve a strict coach.

Milan isn’t the jungle Pioli used to run anymore, where so-called 'senior' players got to play until injured every match and became spoiled, while submissive guys like Hauge and Adli were left to rot on the bench.

Chuku needs to be sold NOW. And one usefull winger that can play both wings is needed.

Zirkzee is relatively slow and Milan needs fast and ready players. Also we need a real no.9 like Sesko who can score 20 goals.

Ibra the backdoor boss can f off.

We need a DM, winger, CF and a reserve lb in January.

Most likely our budget is 500€.

Before Chuk injured himself with an accurate shot on goal - there was speculation of arsenal circling with a bid. They are short a RW and would be welcome to Chuk. Sadly the chance to sell him in January has now passed.

Zirkzee would never work in Milan. The team has been built for swift counterattacking plays and a fast striker with intelligence, excellent timing and positioning is needed. And of course the ability to hit the back of the net.

I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for significant changes in the roster in January. If there are any at all they will be barely noticeable.

Not a single wrong point. And these are not hard to see... unfortunately our management doesn't like to follow logic and our owner is cheap af

Conceiao's Porto defeated Pioli's Milan 1-0 and draw 1-1 in San Siro (UCL 2021/22)

I was in San Siro for our home leg. We were quite lucky to get a draw. They were far superior than us

I didn't watch this and won't. They're just words. All coaches have their ideas, style, philosophy, etc. But the hardest thing in coaching is taking what's in your head (those ideas) and teaching the players how to put those ideas into their head. Lots of components go into it....from simply the way you train and explain things to them, to motivating, personal relationships and management, etc.

So my point is, I'm sure Fonseca had some great ideas as well. But he was unable to successfully transfer them to the squad. He kept talking about some "dominating style" or what not. And I'm sure in his head, he was wanting that and working towards it. But wasnt able to make it happen. BUT, he's said all the right things in his press conference in the summer.

So Conceicao sure has his ideas as well. At this point, it doesn't even matter what they are. Defensive style, possession, counter, etc, you name it. So he can talk all he wants. Can he get whatever's in his head and get the players to put it on the field? Time will tell....

Because that worked really well so far. Nothing wrong with a softer coach, being strict is overrated, it is a very shallow external motivational factor and unlike school or so the guy being strict is in one of the weakest positions in the club.

Time to act fast in the transfer window. You can't wait until the end of January for cut price deals. You got areas that need to be addressed asap.

Needed a mid. Now you probably need a winger with both Chuk and Okafor out/suck. Maybe CF and RB/LB type this window as well.

In the spirit of the festivities to follow Happy New Year everyone hears hoping 2025 is a great year all round. Slainte, Saluti, Prost, Hurrarop, Procht, … you get the idea.

We can only sign homegrown players really.

CM is the biggest need and there are some Italians potentially available.

Loan deal like Nunez maybe as well, he can play wide too.

FB surely unlikely to come with 6 in the squad.

Yeah CF and FB are likely summer targets. Mid and winger are needs for January though.

Old Trafford just seems to really dislike Zirkzee. Not seen the stretford end turn on a player as quick as him. Probably to do with him being 6’4 and hopeless in the air, combined with his nonchalant demeanour, it kind of rubs fans up the wrong way

Depends on the expectations the club and fanbase have. At Milan, there is no longer patience for youth which is fucking stupid. We'd have never had a generation like Baresi, Tassotti, Maldini, Costacurta, etc... had it not been for coaches the likes of Nils Liedholm.

Managing a club is like growing a garden, not building a house. You can't just buy the materials and follow an architect's instructions and expect it to be perfect. There are factors you have no control over; the amount of sunlight, the amount of rainfall, the presence of beneficial lifeforms like insects and fungi... not to mention growing a garden isn't about buying ready-made plants and sticking in the soil. Its about the soil itself, how acidic or basic it is. Whether it has enough Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium. And how the plants themselves share said nutrients and minerals.

Maldini and Boban, then Massara, along with Pioli, created a great garden. They put everything in place to have a winning team, and they succeeded. If Conceicao is to succeed, he will want to start by tending to the club's soil- which includes but isn't limited to the players' mentality, and their willingness to sacrifice. It's in his DNA. I don't see Leao and Conceicao seeing eye to eye, because Rafa will be expected to lead a press in a 4-4-2, or be the secondary press in a 4-2-3-1. Now we wait and see.

I think he will be an inconsistent player, if you look at how it went before last season he kinda gives that vibe.

He probably will be a rotational player for big clubs or so.
