Milan Legend
BTW, loved that video from Diddi posted by @brk.
Diddi seems pretty confident: Conceicao is the best-suited coach for the way our squad is built – better than Sarri or Allegri. The big question is whether the management will finally give him the players and freedom he needs to bring his vision to life.
Diddi highlighted something interesting: when Fonseca first arrived at Milan, he had already analyzed Fonseca's work at Shakhtar and Lille. And yet, he rarely saw any of those principles applied to Milan. This raises an uncomfortable question: did Fonseca ever really have the freedom to shape the team his way, or was he boxed in by the management’s dictats? If the latter is true, the blame for this failure lands squarely on their shoulders.
In any case, Diddi was never convinced Fonseca was the right man for this team. Back in June, while talking about potential new coaches, he was already saying that Conceicao ticks every box for what this squad needs. Sarri, Amorim – even Fonseca – would have required a major overhaul of the squad. An overhaul that, let’s be honest, was never going to happen.
So, what can we expect from Conceicao? According to Diddi:
One more thing: Conceicao isn’t coming alone. He’s brought his entire staff from Porto. Training sessions will be brutal – a test of endurance and character. The aim? Forge this team into a group of warriors, both physically and mentally. But this transformation takes time. Don’t expect to see Conceicao's true Milan before late February or early March. Patience is key – for us fans, too.

So, what can we expect from Conceicao? According to Diddi:
- Theo is tailor-made for Conceicao's style. He’ll thrive and rediscover the form that made him one of Europe’s best left-backs.
- Conceicao loves inverted wingers. He’ll be crazy about Leao – and, surprisingly, Pulisic playing on the right wing.
- Pulisic as a CAM? Forget it. He’s not the type of player Conceicao likes in that role. Reijnders, on the other hand, fits perfectly into Conceicao’s vision.
- In the pivot, expect Bennacer and Fofana to be the mainstays. In a three-man midfield, Bennacer will anchor as the CDM – not Fofana. But here’s the thing: Bennacer alone isn’t enough, especially after such a long injury. A proper CDM will likely top Conceicao's wishlist.
- Next on his agenda? A poacher who seeks depth. Tammy and Morata? Not his type. Jovic? A second striker. Okafor? Same. A pure poacher is not just a luxury – it’s essential. Expect this to be the club’s top priority in January.
- And here’s a wild card: Camarda. According to Diddi, he has everything Conceicao loves in a forward. If management doesn’t sign a new poacher, don’t be shocked if Camarda claims the starting spot sooner rather than later.
