Out for a walk.
Whoever comes in over the summer MUST get on the same fucking page, from day one. Furlani was a clown who's done hopefully not irreparable damage to the club. It's frustrating that Tare gets canned when he did NOT get a fair shake at his own damn job. But, I understand the move. We start fresh, outside of the personal advisor (Ibra). It's very American NFL in style. I've no idea if it will work out or not, but if we at least get some adults in the room and everybody agrees on a vision, I can live with a reality where it might blow up. It's a better prospect than last summer, at least. I'm optimistic. Regrettably. Fuck.

Unfortunately, he wants to stay at Porto but would love him at Milan. Because of our toxic situation and Ibra now in charge there are bound to be clashes with whoever the coach might be, and some might not consider the job because of it.

Cardinale, in his utmost ignorance chose to keep the worst, most divisive, most hated, and incompetent person to run the club. I still can't get over how fucked up that is and I'm not optimistic about our future.
Is it possible that the fans whose go to the stadium can finally boycott it...

Como have the best defensive record in the league.
That means their CBs are ballers in a back 4.

In comparison our CBs can't stop shipping goals when they play 4 at the back (we ship over 1 goal every game we played 4 at the back in the last 2 years) and need an extra defender at all times just to ALMOST be as good as Como's CBs.

Those are facts by the way.
There’s a lot more to goals conceded than the number and quality of center backs.

Passes per defensive action is a simple metric that shows the difference between how Como and us defend. It’s not about the defenders at all. In fact, it’s largely due to the 6 players in front of them pressing and suffocating opponents in their half.

A well orchestrated press almost always beats a low block. There’s a reason every top side plays a high, or at least mid block.

Please, bro, I beg you in the name of God to let this blind, unrelenting defense of the horrible 3atb go 🙏

I understand your heartfelt desire to defend Allegri under the guise of "we don't have good enough defenders". But Allegri is gone. So please let it go.
Thank you

For 4atb definitely 2FBs and 2CBs are needed.

Athekame, De Winter and Bartesaghi are at least young and can still improve, imo fine as back ups. Gabbia for lists and his baseline is at least not horrible.

This would be the perfect point to sell Pavlovič for a good price imo, if we don't play 3 atb.
Pavlovic is still young. He’s a bit indisciplined and lacks awareness at times, but I think he can be molded into a CB pairing with proper coaching and experience. He’s decent playing out the back which is a big plus, unlike Tomori.

Regardless I think we need at least 3 more defenders. A LB, a RB, and a center back leader.

I would sell Estu and Saele, Zach and Bart can stay as backups

Is getting a non Serie A proven coach wise?
Yes yes Cesc did it....however he had time to make his mistakes.
I think we should at least aim for top 4 this time.
To me getting a sexy foreign name is all well and good but there will inevitably be a lot of problems
This is especially the case as the man running the infrastructure around said coach is a fucking moron.
The issue won’t be where the coach comes from, rather whether that coach is given the time and resources to build a project. Football is no longer just about spending exhorbitant amounts in the market, managers have proven you can do well and even win when with better ideas if given backing. Cesc proved it in Serie A, Arteta in the Premier League, countless other “system coaches” have won with less than the big spenders in the league- with less than we’ve spent.

Iraola, can work, if given time and backing. When the announcement came through that it was Allegri who was to be our next manager I was so dismayed… we had finished 8th, had no European football, and yet we went with the least imaginative coach available. Someone who would build NOTHING for which we could either enjoy watching or would lead somewhere in the future. It was such a shortsighted, knee jerk, cowardly decision. Now we’re back to where we started. Worse off than when Maldini and Massara left. The tore down everything that was working and have built nothing worth replacing it. Now is the time to finally have some balls AND some patience. The patience that wasn’t shown to Fonseca. The balls that were nowhere to be seen when they hired the dinosaur Allegri.

I hope we go for Farioli. He’s done well everywhere he’s been so far. Turkey. France. Holland. Portugal. He’s Italian. Young. Speaks great English and a native Italian speaker. Great defensive record, plenty of possession, progressive tactical vision… It makes too much sense.

Reminded that this is what Pulisic & Gimenez has done.

Only Leao said something.

The first meeting with Iraola was on May 15 in London with Ibra, Cardinale, and Calvelli present. Another meeting about to happen.

No one will be able to convince me that Allegri was not sabotaged I’m sorry

Doing this on 15 of May when we still had 2 crucial matches to play for.

Way to send a message to the coaching team & players the support 😂😂😂

This is just the chery on top of the shit cake that was this season.

First world class we get in ages ( yes he was still that regardless of his age ), who is actually a Milan fan since he was a kid, and we couldn't get our shit together to at least qualify for CL, if not win a cup or something to make it a fairytale ending for his career.

I know there will be lots of changes, but I hope we can find a way to keep Rabiot, especially under a coach that would use him in a more offensive role where he can take shots on goal without having to run back to cover our defensive weaknesses.

Not sure about Maignan but keepers are a dime a dozen and with a renewed contract we can demand 40 million from Chelsea.

Guessing who stays and who goes will be an exercise that will keep us busy this summer and I have my opinions that could well be wrong.

Nkunku will probably be kept based on his last few matches, his work rate was good and at least tried to press so if fully healthy might be an asset for us.

Pulisic will stay because he's Captain America and Gerry won't let him go. I think they will keep Ricci for the lists and is at least adequate as a back-up. Has good stamina so playing a system that relies on pressing won't be a problem. Gabbia also for the lists but not a starter in a 4 men defense, ditto for Bartesaghi.

I hope they keep Comotto and Camarda on the big club, give them some minutes and train with the experienced guys. Comotto has some qualities that our mids lack, superior vision and quick, accurate passes that occur before the defense has a chance to set up, which we hardly ever applied.

Jashari might stay unless we get a decent offer, too weak physically and slow of foot for a system that values speed.

Athekame as a back-up RB if we manage to get someone like Dodo`, very fast and good crosser. and Salae as someone that you can use at either wing to give us flexibilty. Obviously Gimenez and Fullkrug will leave, in addition to Leao, Modric, Fofana, Loftus Cheek, Estupinian, Odogu, and Pavlovic not ideal in a 4-man back formation.I think we need speedy players and we should look for those characteristics in all positions including strikers.

Not sure about Tomori, he does have speed but too much error prone, would love Gila even with Tare gone. Too many changes but perhaps necessary to create a new environment.

Looking back, Allegri made some pretty odd decisions once the news that Italy was looking for a new manager came out.

That game where he wanted to prove a point against Udinese by playing 433. Seems way overconfident to be dropping points to silence critics.

I don’t think he’s completely at fault as this squad is clearly in a transitional stage, I can agree with you there. But some of his decisions down the final stretch was truly strange and seemed like he was sending a message to someone: continue to start Jashari after that disaster against Sassuolo and almost gifting a goal against Genoa is another one.

Yeah it was also fully expecting the infrastructure around him to be shit that I think we should get someone at least familiar with the country

Yes, season ticket sales must be at least 50% less than they are now, but there's a trend of neutral spectators, tourist types, that don't care about Milan but only for the event, take selfies, get caught on camera, smile even when we're losing.

Anything that makes Gerry lose money is on the table.

Attendance is up at highest since 92/93

73k average for home matches

Even maldini want the ultras to go since it scares the family from going to see matches

Milan will keep 70+ next year too and maybe more

Ideal scenario - Gerry and Ibra got it right/very right and we qualify for Champions League next season/win Scudetto. Then upward trajectory - maintain same level the season after and onwards.

Realistic scenario - We miss CL spot again next season, Ibra then is fired. Gerry takes the reigns fully for 2027/28 to make a point he can do it (ego issues) and takes us to the promised land of 8-10th place finish. He is then forced out one way or another - hopefully we at least get the stadium by 2028 - assuming Papa Scaroni is still alive.

So our actual competitive season will start around 2028/2029 or 2029/2030.
