This is amazing
I don't think England did as much as Argentina, but I get your point. If Cape Verde played like England did, they would be punished for it far worse than England and that isn't fair.England had the same leeway to open the game, I think it was fine. Both sides got to see what the limit of the game was going to be. They got away with plenty of card worthy challenges
I guess we just see it differently, I would not be ok with that. Same reason I dislike VAR, sports first and foremost is entertainment for me
It’s not black and white refs have the right to control the flow of the game, some do it well some don’t. You keep bringing up Embolo but those are completely different situations
The Turk had an agreement for the renewal with Roma, so much so that he was expected at Trigoria the day after tomorrow for the training camp.
However, now he is expected to be officially announced as a new member of Luciano Spalletti’s squad.
Yes, at least if his fitness levels are good, does he have injury problems?Phil Foden? Maybe City like the idea of sending him to Milan, instead of another EPL team, and since he's a youth player, they can accept less of a fee because (1) he's their youth player [so pure profit] and (2) they're selling him to a non-EPL team so less chance of blowback?
Or is this just another case of Milan's name being used to help a player's career? Probably that, right?
Let's say Foden actually is an option, would you guys want him? Let's say we pay 40-50m for him, give him 7m net wages (his current City salary)--do you take that transfer?
R9 had to beat the shit out of Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Thuram, Puyol, the butchers of Italy (the likes of Materazzi and Montero etc)To follow this up... It's almost pointless, but more so subjective, if you see someone as the "goat".
Era's see different iterations of the game. Therefore I could argue that Messi vrs Baresi, Nesta, or Maldini, playing by the rules and leeway afforded to players in the 80s, 90s or early 00s, doesn't perform to the levels afforded to him for saying the last 10-15 years? Similarly Ronaldo, not the fat good one.
For me the like of Gullit, Savicevic, Weah, Kaka, Robaldinho, Ronaldo, Maradona, Laudrup, Ribery, Zidane, etc, all hold more weight in a GOAT conversation, but that's me... And I'm not saying many are close to being an undisputed GOAT, but they played in era's with far more recognised GREAT players.
Messi and Ronaldo you could argue benefitted from marketing and FIFA favouritism?
No doubt Messi is a great player, but he's had a lot of help I'd say?
I find it weird that people support and follow
Players that have no connection to the clubs they supposedly follow?
I absolutely have no affiliation to players that have never played for a club I support.
The standing and simping for Messi, Ronaldo, Pep, etc, I don't get it...
you know I was listening to nba ref who got popped match fixing ages ago. He said inherently an nba ref will give a favorable call to the superstar more times than not because to them it’s more likely that someone like Lebron got fouled forcing him to miss a shot rather than him simply missing a shot because lack of ability. I imagine that principle applies here as wellI don't think England did as much as Argentina, but I get your point. They are not different situations--we're talking about an elbow to the head which has been a red card for long before VAR came along--we just find new ways to compartmentalize what context we get to bring up to rationalize why Argentina or England get away with things, while we take the same behavior and chastise players from less fashionable countries and say that "they lost their heads" or "what a mistake" etc.
I'm not entertained by games that are designed to assist favorite teams. But you should stop humoring me, I'm annoying.
It won’t be 40mYes, at least if his fitness levels are good, does he have injury problems?
He’s talented for sure, and for 40m there’s hard to find a player as talented as him IMO.
I dislike English players though, mostly they are extremely overrated, but a 40m Foden deal seems good.
50 mil transfer fee on a 5 year contract, with 13 mil annual salary is 18 mil euro annual cost for us.Phil Foden? Have you ever been to a barber shop?Spot onfor me “ The Goat” conversation just goes in circles and will never truly have a definitive conclusion.
As them kids they say, the math ain't mathin when you look at these salaries50 mil transfer fee on a 5 year contract, with 13 mil annual salary is 18 mil euro annual cost for us.

Milan, la cifra minima per evitare una minusvalenza con tutti gli esuberi
Tutti i numeri e le cifre per evitare minusvalenze cedendo gli esuberi in uscita dal Milanwww.milannews.it
This is literally our annual cost for Bennacer and Chuk. If we have a chance at Foden, it is absolutely a no-brainer signing. I can't really think of a much more guaranteed option for the RW spot, which we badly need to upgrade.

Not really relevant but when both Digne and Rabiot were given yellow cards in the first half the coach replaced Rabiot that was playing well and not Digne who's probably their weakest starter. Down 0-1, I expected Theo to come in to provide more offense. No, I'm sorry, this means that we no longer have a sporting contest.
If the players do things to kill their team's chances, why shouldn't they be punished?
If we go with this context argument, then why punish Embolo for the dive? Did that not ruin the entertainment? The spectacle? The Swiss had Argentina on the ropes. But what happens instead? They use VAR to go back and award the second yellow. Why did that not ruin the spectacle?
I think yellows for dives, particularly in the age of VAR, are stupid and simply provide an avenue for corruption, but that's an aside--and a position I'm pretty firm on, but again, that's beside the point.
Do we think that second yellow comes for an Argentine or English or French player? If the answer is no, then we have to ask ourselves, what's the point of competing then?
These less fashionable nations are supposed to feel better because they gave a big team a run for their money, rather than feel cheated--that's their consolation prize apparently. "Aw, good job, you gave them a scare! Enjoy the new followers Vozinha!" What if Cape Verde went to the final and won? What if Norway gets the call against England and then in the semis just kept spamming crosses to Haaland so he can dunk on Argentina and Norway wins it all?
When English defenders give up penalties (the sort of thing VAR is supposed to guard against) and red card offenses against Ghana, it's nothing. Nope! Sorry. Ghana should have done better, silly Africans, don't be so naive--that is what is said to them. But to punish Argentina? England? No, we can't do that. Why not?
The reality is that Argentina or England (or anyone in that grouping) are never going to be screwed by the refs against Ghana or Switzerland, I'm just glad that we're at a point where we can all admit that the hypocrisy is built into the system.
I dunno why, but Tuchel probably could have used him, and Gila wasn't called up for Spain--so who knows?I'm not really following EPL or City, but a couple of years ago I'd have said fuck yes, now I wonder how City is apparently shooting for >60M when Foden wasn't even called up for the NT?
What happened?
As I mentioned this afternoon: Milan and Aston Villa are in talks over Estupinan, with a formal offer expected within the next 48 hours. The fee is 15 million.
Can't se how his football skills and iq be connected to geting growth hormone, it might help with his longntivity but thats allHe’s unquestionably the best player of his generation and this century.
Can you truly even truly begin to compare him to someone from different eras and generations like Maradona? Messi has the benefit of modern sports medicine and recovery + he was literally juiced to the fucking gills with HGH when he was 11 years old.
Best of this generation with an asterisk for having more juice in him than Lance Armstrong.
I think Rivera was named best Italian player for a certain age but played at the same time as Pele` so goat was out of the question. Prior to Pele' I have no idea, maybe Nordhal, Meazza, Piola, Di Stefano, Valentino Mazzola of the grande Torino.Juiced up Messi with trump referee will belt sacchi’s defense like a military mule. If they tackle like Stone Age they won’t even have 3 proper players.
Messi is the GOAT. Greatest football player is Italian. Resident Eugenist @pippofan affirms.
Shame Berlu would have signed him instead of Beckham
So you're George Constanza? The one night stands, especially in the disco era of the 70s, most of the times I didn't even know their names.
A little story: Usually late at night when you took a lady home and they invited you for coffee it meant sex. One time I was invited and started making my move and she refused so I asked her "why did you invite me for coffee if you didn't want to do it?" She replied that when she invited someone for coffee it meant coffee.
I apologized and left with no sex and no coffee.

Oooh yes I am very aware. I just had to use another striker to match oshimen’s size etc. You’re aware we’ve already signed “up top” for a record fee, right?
