Ajax winger Luis Suarez has publicly announced on the Catalan radio program La Lliga a RAC1 that his "dream is to play at Barcelona".

The Uruguayan footballer, who is on holiday with his wife's family in the Barcelona suburb of Castelldefels, commented that "signing for the Blaugrana would be an opportunity that he could not refuse and would realise one of his dreams".

The 22-year-old expressed his love for the city and also spoke of his situation at Ajax. "I have made it clear that I will finish the season at Ajax, but if the club were to receive an attractive offer, they would accept my transfer."

Suarez additionally commented on his love for the Spanish and English games and added that would not want to go to Italy since he does like the style of play in Serie A.

Barcelona have reportedly been on the lookout for a winger and have been linked to Manchester City's Brazilian winger Robinho in what has been a dramatic saga over the past few months.

Suarez extended his deal at Ajax till (i think it was) 2013. Still he said in an interview that players can't tell what the future will bring and if somethings great comes along the line he will think about it. But for now he's focussing on Ajax.

I think he's a huge step up from Huntelaar and is better than Borrielo and Pippo.

Would be really great if true. Suarez would be a perfect addition to Pato. He's hardworking and has great technique. One huge advantage over Huntelaar is that he doesn't need to fed with chances like Huntelaar, he works to get those chances himself. The only advantage Huntelaar has over him is his size.
But I doubt there is any truth behind this...

Yeah, this will not happen. Ajax wants money, not Huntelaar (they already bought a new star-striker), and Ajax have already turned down big offers from Manchester United. I doubt that this will happen.

I don't see it happening since:
1. I don't see Huntelaar wanting to go back to Eredivisie.
2. I don't see Ajax paying Huntelaar wages.
3. I don't see Ajax signing Huntelaar now they got El Hamdaoui as their new striker, and Mido also.

Even if I am wrong about 1 or 2 points, surely I am right about 1 or 2 other points. My final thought on this rumour: if only...
