Hey, happy for you guys, Sheva & HeroMaldini who are going to the game!! Should be a great one. Last game before the break, we're on a roll, turn out at San Siro should be fantastic.

Winning this will put us in a great position. 13 points clear of Roma, 16 clear of Inter (with 2 games in hand) and 3-6 points (more if they drop points) clear of the chasing pack. I'm really optimistic about this one considering the way we've been playing and Roma's poor away form.

Definitely! Will give some peace of mind preparing for important CL games as well. That will be easier with a comfortable lead in the league.

The CL draw is on Friday...ooooohhhh.... Barca or Schalke? :D:D:D

does anybody have the stats for winter champions to serie a champions in the last 10 years? I believe Inter were winter champions the last 4 years at least and went on to win the title.

I have the stats. They say the team that had Ibra by winter break later won the title. :D

Just a thought, is Borriello eligible to play this game? Loan deals often stipulate that the player can't play against the team that owns his contract. He's been Roma's main goalscorer so would be nice if he can't play.

yea hope so, atmosphere should be great.. fans in San Siro seem to be very vocal lately, and especially at the away matches too Milan fans in away end could be heard clearly throughout the game v bologna today.. hoping for another Ibra and Prince double

Doubt it unfortunately especially because the clause probably states they need to buy him at the end of the season

Juventus is the team that scares the shit out of me. I'll never feel confident with them around because of their history with the refs... We can't worry about them too much, though, we just have to keep taking care of business. It would certainly be great to have Silva for this match, but I think we will still be favorites going in.

Assuming no injuries, there is no reason to make any changes from the last two matches. It's going to be interesting to see how Boateng performs in his position against a quality side like Roma. It's nice to have Pirlo always helping him out in his new creative role, though.

This is the best that Milan has looked since our Champions League matches in 06/07.

Don't have stats but I'm sure we were winter champions in 03/04 and Juve the same in 04/05 and 05/06 (I know they were stripped of those Scudetti but that's not really the point). With Inter the last 4 that makes 7 years in a row. Can't remember before then.

Will be 8 years is a row after this season!
Ok, here it is. Season - Winter Champion - Scudetto Winner
00/01 : Roma - Roma
01/02 : Inter - Juve
02/03 : Milan - Juve
03/04 : Roma - Milan
04/05 : Juve - Juve
05/06 : Juve - Juve

The rest : Inter - Inter

In season 03/04, Roma was able to become winter champions because we had to play the Inter Continental Cup game vs Boca Junior on Dec 14 and skipped the 13th game vs Siena. Because of the long travel and tiredness, we also lost the home game vs Udinese on Dec 21.

Don't underestimate Roma even if they were shit in away matches this season and don't play that good. I'm confident for this match if we play with the same lineup as in the last two matches. Too bad Thiago is missing, but if we stay compact and Bonera (if he plays again) doesn't make a major mistake, then I think we are safe at the back.
For sure Roma is a bigger threat than Brescia and Bologna, but we have a great run and we play good matches, we really play as a team and it works very well now. I'm sure we can win this match, another good result before the Christmas break would be great.

Really doubt Strasser will take up rhino place, I'd think we gonna give up Boateng AM place to dorf n KPB himself fill Rhino place.

Goddamn, that's not ideal.

No Zambrotta and Gattuso: that's horrible news. Antonini and Seedorf to play then probably.

Anyone else think Antonini has been below par this season? I'd pick him over Zambrotta any day last season, but this time it's the other way around.

Gattuso, Zambrotta, Silva and Pato will all be ready and available to play after the winter break so it'll all be good! Hopefully Milan can get a victory against Roma this Saturday tho!

I think Antonini was decent before making that defensive howler against Jube, after that game he seemed to lose some confidence plus he got many injuries as well this season..

Or has Antonini been above par last season? I guess Antonini's game was at his best in a 4-3-3 with Ronaldinho on his side. Last season it was Antonini > Zambrotta > Abate, and this season vice versa. :D (IMO) I really don't like this season's Antonini.

I like to see us starting again with the Pirlo-Boateng combo, supported by two more defensive players. So I hope to see Strasser start. I know it's Roma, but I feel like he can do it. Bonera and Nesta didn't blow it last game, so I guess Bonera will start again, even though my preference won't go to him.
Robinho, Ibrahimovic
Boateng
Pirlo, Ambrosini, Strasser
Antonini, Bonera, Nesta, Abate
Abbiati
bench: Amelia, Yepes, Papastathopoulos, Seedorf, Merkel, Verdi, Ronaldinho

Yes, that's the team I would play, but I really doubt Strasser is gonna start, especially for such an important game. Hope I'm wrong though...
