edmund hottor FTW!

you don't need to be tall BTw, though it helps, good timing on heading, being able to out position other midfielders help too... makelele/gattuso aren't big, they did it fine
Is Hottor a big dude? I know he's only what ... 15 or 16, but how tall is he?

I think you need to have at least one tall central midfielder. I think its more of a necessity than luxury, and given that Pirlo's been eloquently labelled a midget on these boards before, then that makes Flamini, Gattuso and Becks midgets as well.

He's 16 and is already 180 plus cms :). Still growing. So should be a pretty big dude for his age and by the time he's 19-20 and breaks into our first team.

hottors been compared to ambrosini in style which i think is reference to being a complete CDM. Ambro's ability on ball is often overlooked. If he flashy? Nah but he can deliver ball when need be and run etc. etc.

as for your tall point. Inter's midfield 3 is ussually zanetti, cambiasso, muntari.. all shorter than ambrosini.

barca has yaya and busquets which is nice
man utd won ucl w/o a tall player. Hargreaves? not real tall.

we also won in 2003 with pirlo, gattuso, seedorf rui costa midfield.

Yeah i'd like a taller CM but it's not imperative

It sure is strange that Gattuso gets a call up to NT and not Ambrosini... Does anyone know how Lippi thinks about this?

Gattuso won the WC, its the same reason that guys like him and Cannavaro, Grosso, Zambrotta, etc get called up.

The right concentration

THE RIGHT CONCENTRATION

3/9/2010 7:57:00 PM

Ahead of the match at Old Trafford, captain Massimo Ambrosini gave a press conference: 'We need an important result and so the psychological aspect will be fundamental.'

MILAN - Here is the declarations made bycaptain Massimo Ambrosini in a press conference at the Old Trafford Conference Room, ahead of the match against Manchester United and valid for the Eighth finals of the Champions League 2009/2010.

MASSIMO AMBROSINI:

"We are calm but very concentrated ahead of this match. From the first leg we know what we can give on the pitch and what we have to do. We are aware it will be a battle and from this kind of battle we can emerge victorious.
The match against Manchester will be the most stimulating one since I've been playing here.

Rooney? I consider him very strong, it was also clear in the first leg. He's a complete, consistent player, and the Italian press is evidencing it. He's improved a lot, and is undoubtedly one of the best in the world."

Latest on training against Napoli

Latest on training against Napoli

Missing a little over 24 hours to challenge the San Siro against Napoli. For this delicate match, there are various doubts that afflict Leonardo. Two in particular are still issues to be ironed. One concerns the midfield. Captain Ambrosini, seems not to recover from the hamstring problem and his place could be taken from one of Flamini and Gattuso. In attack, however, still feverish with Borriello, Pippo Inzaghi seems prepared from 1 ', a group from his last true presence as a starter.

I hope quick recover Captain.:star:

Too bad Ambro is injured too. Must have happened in training I think because in the last matches I haven't seen anything, only that he may needed a rest.
But hopefully he will be back soon and it is only a little problem he has now.

For the time Ambro can't play, his place should be taken by Flamini, that for sure. Flams works as hard as Ambro, both give all and fight great in every match, best is to have both of them on the pitch.

Fuck! Just saw this now. IMHO, our best player this season. Consistent, hard working + giving his all. Will sorely be missed! We need him against Napoli ... its fundamental.

Ambro have been good this year though, slightly above average. Him becoming captain has done a lot for him.

Lotta alla fame

LOTTA ALLA FAME

And Ambro responds. The Rossoneri's captain supports the national campaign LOTTA ALLA FAME. Massimo Ambrosini will be the protagonist of a spot. Objective of the campaign: saving 8,000 children.

15209_news.jpg

MILAN - Massimo Ambrosini, captain of Milan, has decided with enthusiasm to support the national campaign LOTTA ALLA FAME, promoted by the AFRICA CHIAMA assosciation and started in collaboration with the telephone operators Tim, Vodafone, Wind, 3 and Telecom Italia. From April 11 to 20 is possibile to send an sms or call from the fixed Telecom number to 45508 to donate €2 in favour of the 8,000 children at risk of malnutrition. Massimo Ambrosini will be the protagonist, together with an African girl, of the 30 second advertisement which will be transmitted on the national TV and radio stations. The The advertisement was shot on Friday March 19 at the Sports Centre of Milanello, where the AC Milan players train. During the shooting, Italo Nannini, president of the association went together with voluteers at Milanello to meet up with Massimo Ambrosini and thank him for the important contribution. With these words, the Milan captain greeted the representatives of Africa Chiama: "I'm very happy to have been with you today and that I helped out. I take the occasion to compliment you because I don't think it's easy to face such great challenges with enthusiasm like you do for Africa Chiama." There are 100 million people in the world who, according to the World Alimentation Program of the United Nations (PAM), could suffer hunger due to the current food crisis. The malnutrition kills about 40% of the children worlwide (around 10.6 million deaths per year for children between 0 and 5 years). Right now, the priority of Africa Chiama is to protect the vulnerable subjectives, like women and children, acting on exact data and activating short and long term strategies which take note of the mecchanism which have started this phenomenon. With the LOTTA ALLA FAME initiative, Africa Chiama proposes itself to reach over 8,000 children in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia, and save them from death due to hunger. Through the nutritional and health support, it will be possible to decrease the cases of manlnutrition and prevent deaths.

I dunno if its just me ,but has anyone else noticed he cheats/ tries to cheat a lot lately ?There was another incident today with a handball ,were he raised his arms clearly to stop the ball.

He was damn lucky the ref did not give him a second yellow for that.I wish he would stop it,his bugging me and a great player like him should stop with this childish crap.

I think it's desperation. Not good to see though.

Not his best game tonight. As he always does when the team is playing poorly, he took on ridiculous amounts of responsibility, and tried hard to make things happen going forward, despite the fact that even I can admit that creative play is beyond his capabilities. Could easily have been sent off, but I think he's getting used to the immunity that the Milan armband grants him...

I hope its just that,im not questioning his dedication ..i just want the shit to stop. And your right big teams in general do tend to get favored by the refs, its the whole band wagon thing.Like when Milan plays against a small team, the commentators are acting like there on Milan tv,and not a supposedly neutral one.

Ambro demands final push

Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has asked his team-mates to make one final push for the title as the end of the season approaches.

The Rossoneri have slipped up of late, missing the opportunity to overtake Inter after three matches without a win in Serie A.

Speaking to the Milan Channel, Ambrosini said: “Our season has been positive but we must give the best of ourselves from here until the end.

“We mustn't feel sorry for ourselves because of the injuries and the lack of luck, but we must look forward.

“On an athletic level, Inter are superior and going forward in the Champions League might give them new motivation.

“Instead, Roma, with respect to us, might only have two more games to play than us.”

Ambrosini was referring to Roma still being in the Coppa Italia at the semi-final stage.

Milan are back in action at the weekend when they travel to Cagliari.

dude resign as captain please, you had a couple of good games but for god sake when the team needs you most you disappear.

take today for example, milan started ok and the conceeded why the fuck didnt you step up and motivate the players and tell them to move their asses and tigten up the defence. then milan conceeded the second and you died, ur job as a captain is to motivate them tell them all is not lost play like a maniac, instead you played shite couldnt motivate them and leo had to motivate them for the second half.

never considered you a captain, and this is why.
