Hopefully we'll have a win over Benfica under our belts when we come in for this one. On the other hand, we're in the crapper if we play poorly in our own backyard next Sunday.

Who cares anymore, as long we get enough points to make it into next seasons CL there is nothing more for Milan to aim for. Sad but true.

PARMA: THE WORDS OF DESSENA
9/18/2007
PARMA - These are the words of midfielder Daniele Dessena (Parma) ahead of Saturday's game at San Siro against Milan: "We go to Milan with the intention of bringing important points to Parma for our league position. We'll have to be aggressive throughout the 90 minutes. With the quality players they've got, we take a great risk if we don't put pressure them. It won't be easy because the Rossoneri players are masters at holding the ball."

Let's hammer them!

we have to win it, although again this seems a 'cl year' and not a 'scudetto year'. damn policy.

at least to stay in touch with inter and juve. would be shitty to see juve on top of us all the way this year. or inter getting 10-20-30 points tops.

forza kaka. anybody knows if ronaldo comes back this match?

A month from the Siena game was the last news I heard ... so three more weeks, at least. Which is a putty cause we surely could use him. After watching the Benfica highlights, I keep on asking myself how many we would've scored had he been playing.

Parma beware :devilfir:

Milan-Parma
Stadio Meazza

After a couple of disappointing results Milan will be hoping to return to winning ways when Parma visit the San Siro. Meanwhile, the travelling side will be looking to cause an upset against the Champions League holders to secure their first win of the 2007-08 season.

An impressive 3-0 victory at Genoa on the opening day suggested that the Rossoneri would be a force to be reckoned with in the opening stages, but since then they have failed to pick up a win after 1-1 draws against Fiorentina and Siena. Having fallen four points behind leaders Roma, Milan will be eager to overcome the Crociati and keep up the early pressure at the top. The Diavoli’s striking options have once again come under scrutiny though, as they are yet to score a League goal via one of their forwards.

That problem has in part been caused by the mysterious injury that means Ronaldo will once again be unavailable for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. The Brazilian has been at the centre of controversy as the Selecao doctors accused Milan’s medical staff of misdiagnosing his injury, only for questions to be raised over the legality of the treatment he was receiving in Rio de Janeiro. Also still in the Milanello treatment room are veterans Paolo Maldini and Serginho, but otherwise the Diavoli should be back at full strength after resting the likes of Kaka and Andrea Pirlo against Siena.

Ducali boss Domenico Di Carlo will be slightly more concerned with the fitness of his squad though, as he will be without some key players for this difficult trip to the San Siro. Giuseppe Cardone, Andrea Gasbarroni and Igor Budan are all out with injuries and the likes of Marco Rossi, Daniele Dessena and Reginaldo will need to show that they can fill in successfully. Meanwhile, Domenico Morfeo is exiled to the bench once again following his pre-season bust up with Di Carlo.

Without a win to their name, Parma will be desperate to pick up some points in Milan. It won’t be an easy task, but the Rossoneri’s shaky start to the season will have given the Crociati confidence to push forward and put pressure on their opponents. However, the poor performance in the 2-0 defeat at Atalanta suggests that Di Carlo is yet to fix the dire away form that has nearly cost the Ducali their Serie A status on a number of occasions in recent years.

Keep an eye on[/b]: Bernardo Corradi (Parma) – The ex-Lazio striker has flown back to Serie A again, but this time he seems to have found his old form waiting for him in the arrivals lounge. He celebrated with a stunning volleyed goal against Cagliari last week, but will face a tougher task against the Milan defence.

Last season: Milan 1-0 Parma

Form guide: Milan (- - W D D) Parma (- - D L D)

Milan (probable): Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kaka, Seedorf; Gilardino

Parma (probable): Bucci; Coly, Falcone, Rossi, Castellini; Zenoni, Cigarini, Morrone, Dessena; Corradi, Reginaldo

Ref: To follow...

I agree.. Although every year should be a UCL year since it is the biggest tournament in europe and winning it has become a habit :D but we cant forget the scudetto and we cant just " chill" and "rest key players" when its a Serie A game. I hope we really do "ROCK" here and give those who have lost hope, their hope back lol. I really hope we win this game so the scudetto fire doesnt die out. Its Maldini's last season and we should go for both scudetto and UCL at the moment. I know we cant win both this season, after that transfer season but its the beginning of both competitions (ucl & serie A) and at this stage, we should be optimistic and not pessimistic.

MALDINI: "In the important games we're almost unbeatable"
9/20/2007
MILAN - These are the declarations of Paolo Maldini to the 'La Gazzetta dello Sport': "In the important games we always give hundred percent and we're almost unbeatable. Then in Europe the opponents do not close themselves so much and this puts us at an advantage."

glad to hear that

MALDINI:"Nowadays we play away or in a neutral pitch"
9/20/2007
MILAN - In the same interview, the Captain said: "It's not just the Curva that does not support us: even the fans of the other sectors are quiet. I think that when when they sing 'We have Milan in our hearts' then they must prove it. Nowadays we play away from home or on a neutral pitch: never really at home. It doesn't seem logical and the team does not accept this anymore."

is it true?

Rumour has it that JPM told Kaka to rest this one out. Anybody have a reliable source?

BUCCI: 'Arrogant no, ambitious yes'
9/21/2007
MILAN - These are the words of Luca Bucci, goalkeeper of the Gialloblu, on the even of the match against Milan: "We must not be arrogant, but ambitious, and try to obtain a result at Milan. No one goes on the pitch to lose. This team does not have a spectacular game, but I think that it can obtain a result anywhere, just like losing, if we don't have the right determination."
