You under-rate us Gaizka. We are better than last year, and saying we can't win away at all. Especcially againts Ajax and Auxerre is quite shocking. We can beat all of the teams here and getting full points would be a shock but it's well within our means.

Call them mediocre teams but Milan is not prone to slipping against them at home game, which was really our problem since we failed to win any single home game last season :
- 03/04 : vs Club Brugge (H) : 0-1 defeat (remember, Milan was the defending champion)
- 06/07 : vs Lille (H) : 0-1 defeat (okay, we already qualified for the 2nd round)
- 09/10 : vs FC Zurich : 0-1 defeat
0-2, checked gaizkafile as well and it was right in there.
Looking at the group, (with Real Madrid around) it was quite similar to last season's. Marseille and Ajax is the same kind of team: another former champion looking to step into another period of greatness, capable of giving the big European teams some scare but somehow will end up playing in Europa League. While Auxerre is no difference than FC Zurich: fueled by the chance and prove themselves at the biggest stage, capable of giving surprises but will end up in last place of the group.
Hmm, I really feel Marseille last year were a bit more dangerous than Ajax this season, while Auxerre is a bit more capable than Zurich. Maybe it's not our right to say because we lost to Zurich but Auxerre denied Zenit a place in group stages(which is pretty huge) and they're coach was just named best of the year ... ofcourse these evaluations are all a bit too superficial.
Points that realistically we can get :
- vs Real : 1 point (Away loss + Home draw)
- vs Ajax : 4 points (Home win + Away draw)
- vs Auxerre : 4 points (Home win + Away draw)

2 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss for 9 points. Enough to qualify us to the second round. Any additional points (esp away wins vs Ajax or Auxerre) will certainly be bonus points. I don't see us winning the game away vs Real like last season. Some call last season's win a surprise but we knew we had a chance, but not this time.
 We have a better chance this time. Don't worry about Mourinho.

Killed by the weapon I invented :D LOL

You're right. Funny thing is, I was checking the same file but instead of looking at the result vs Lille, I wrote the result vs AEK Athens.

BTW, another addition to the file is on the way :)

I actually checked it there, hoping I can parade how there's a mistake in the file :D Will be waiting for updated gaizkafile.

Ok, I agree that I might under-rate Milan a bit.

Can you tell me how we are better than last year? We only had Boateng as a meaningful addition (baring Ibra's transfer) but what about the others? 1 year older for Pippo, Pirlo, Seedorf, Nesta; old-already by the time last season's CL started. Ok, we can say T. Silva will mature but what about the rest of the defenders? Can we actually expect that Yepes and that Greek-defender-whose-name-I-can't-remember will actually do miracles?

Now, let's look at Madrid. Ozil, Khedira, Di Maria. The first 2 did actually light up last World Cup. And Mourinho. If he can helped Inter won a cup that they last won when colored TV wasn't around yet, imagine what he can do in Real with all those players.

Ajax and Auxerre. I said last season, I didn't expect us to win vs Madrid away. I expected us to loss away then drew home, 1 point only. I was proven wrong since we got 4 points from Real instead. But nobody expected us to lost vs FC Zurich and drew vs Marseille at home. At the San Siro. Sure we won vs Marseille away but we drew vs them home. I expected Milan to get 9 points last season (1 point vs Madrid home, 6 points vs OM and Zurich home and 2 points vs OM and Zurich away) and as it turned out and by some coincidence, I was right although the points came from different games. I don't see any difference this season, we would get 9 points from all those 6 games. Proven wrong and get more points, I'll be very happy. Proven wrong and get less points, I won't be surprised, judging from the state of the team. Disappointed as hell, yes. But surprised, no.

Point is, Milan sometimes (I repeat sometimes) has the ability to really play beautiful and win when it really counts but those supposedly easy games are what I'm worried about.

You're on your honeymoon. You'll only have one, unless you're Ross. :D But just have fun on your honeymoon and you won't regret it.

Now that's the sensible way to look at it.

At least it's not a derby or a semi-final, but still I can see it now . . . She'll be trying to talk to me about something or other and my mind will just be on the game. Then she'll realise and give me grief.

No difference to normal life then.

Brilliant!

I know that horrible feeling when you should be watching the match, but you're forced into being somewhere else.

Sucks!

I am not very optimistic this year, but LONDON and U.K. always bring Luck to MILAN in CH.L.
This year The Champions League FINAL will be played in LONDON, and last time We won there was May 22-nd 1963.
Last time We won CH.L. Final in U.K. was at Manchester !
Hope ...even, hard to believe that 2 years in a row Italian Giants will win This CUP, but Cites who brings MILAN luck definitely are ; LONDON, MANCHESTER, MADRID, BARCELONA, VIENNA and ATHENS :star: :star: .

Hope we will repeat ATHENS glory twice in LONDON this time !

i dont call this an 'underrate'. this is true man talkin the reality. this season is rlly messed up. dont know what to think anymore and its gettin hard to keep hopes up. i hope we'll repeat same results against r.merda as we did last cl, but with the 'freshnes' of real and the situation of current Milan, im a bit worried. the hardest part in this group is the game against merdas, but anyway i see Milan 2nd, just hopin we'll have easier games after group games r over.

Will surely be a hard group phase for us, but sometimes a strong group is better for us because we somehow always like to mess up against small teams, the most recent was Zürich last year, we didn't win against them.
Having Real and Ajax in our group can be a help for us because we know that they are strong and so we will give everything and then hopefully beat them. Auxerre is also a know team, French teams are good, so I think we will also not underestimate them because they are not so unknown.
I don't know if it's a coincidence that we have Real again, who knows why they are our group again and also strange that we play against them at the same time again, on the third and fourth day of the group phase. I want to beat them twice.

So all in all this could be good for us, I hope we can finish first in this group. Also imo we have a better squad than last season, so it should be possible for us to beat everyone. We will start against the weakest team in our group, so I want us to beat them, to have a good start in the CL.

Not wanting to break the spirit here, but Vienna (and the Prater Stadium) didn't always brig us good luck as we lost the CL 95 Final vs Ajax there.

And speaking of Italian clubs winning it 2 years in a row, both Inter and AC Milan did that already. Milan won it in 63 followed by Inter in 64 and 65. The same feat was repeated by the Dutch clubs in the early 70s (Feyenoord in 70 and Ajax in 71 - 73) although no country has ever equalled what English clubs did when they won the Champions Cup (as it called back then) from 77 - 82 with 3 different clubs (Lpool, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa). A feat I don't think any country in current years will ever get to do that.

I just showed you all that I know how to type wikipedia :D :D

I will attend to the match at Ajax almost 100% sure as a Dutch friend who lives in Amsterdam will get me a ticket, I will be surrounded by Ajax fans though, I hope I can remain stoic if we score there.

Currently I am trying to have a ticket for Auxerre-Milan also but that will be harder as I don't know anyone close to there, but both away matches are much more close to me than the San Siro, last time I went to Milano was in 1994-95 or 95-96 I don't remember, last away match I went to was vs PSV Eindhoven when we lost 1-0

I've got a question.
I don't know if it's been asked before . At the home page of this site(www.acmilan-online.com) you can buy tickets for Ajax Milan at Amsterdam. I want to know if those tickets are for the away crowd or for the Ajax fans.... Thanx

Sorry to say so, but i'll be supporting Ajax, for they are my first club.
Milan is just my first international club ;-) So if they knock out Ajax, I dont feel that bad.
Hopefully Ajax en Milan will progress to the next round.
Byebye Real! :D

(got a Passe Partout by the way, so i'll also see Ajax - Real and Ajax - Auxere)

List B is for players who are young enough to not be included in List A, but can still play.

So List B is for players who are under a certain age, which means they can still play, yet they shouldn't take up a full spot on the actual list.

So List A and B can play. Just B is for the youth players because it's pointless taking up a spot which older players need.

Gotcha, do you know what the age cap is? Pretty awesome that we can get away with having such a great player as Pato on a youth list

For this year it's: Players born after January 1st 1989, and have had 2 uninterrupted years of service with the club.

It's a maximum of 25 players for List A, and I believe you can have an unlimited number of players for List B as long as they meet the requirements.

It only seems weird because we didn't use up all of the available spaces for list A, but we could have added 3 more overage players if we wanted to. Maybe you're automatically put onto list B if you meet the requirements?

Really ?

Would be nice because I almost shitted my pants when I saw Pato in the B list because I thought that was the reserve-list for after January
