I love the black ones. I own a Kaka (last year) and Gilardino (year before). 2 Red and black is Inzaghi and Maldini (Opel). White with no name (Opel).

I don't mind them this year really but not too keen on buying one just yet.
This years red and black I give it a 7

Last years black a 10 I love it!

Dida does look a little skeptic in the picture. I mean, Pato's old enough to be his son :D

Would I like it to be younger? Of course, and we will also have trouble with injuries (hopefully not as many as in the last seasons, specially because I believe that with a proper preseason some of those injuries can be prevented), but the only defense that I feel are bettter than ours are Inter's (mostly for depth and age). Roma's is equal to ours, and so is Chelsea's.
Lets look at Inter's CBs. Materazzi, Corboda and Samuel, with Chivu and Burdisso capable of playing there as well. Chelsea have Carvalho, Terry, Ben Haim and Alex (?), with Ferriera and Essien capable as well. I don't rate the likes of Ben Haim and Burdisso any better than Bonera, and aside from Maldini, all our CBs have at least three more seasons left in them.

We should consider adding a younger LB and RB for the future, but its not as urgent a matter compared to our attack IMO. Since, like you said, it seems as though this year's pre-season preparations have been thorough compared to last season's, with the likes of Kaladze looking in top physical shape in Moscow. And Menon, I hope you're not forgetting how fragile our current attackers seem to be.

And even if we wanted to replace the older guns, who with? There aren't many available defenders on the market atm. E.g. Everyone is talking about replacing Janku. Who with? Zambrotta won't come + aside from him, there aren't many LBs who would be better suited to our system than Janku. Maybe in January, we could look to sign a young LB and RB since its the first area of our defense that needs fresh blood.

On midfield I was thinking about the possibility of playing Gourcuff as a Pirlo backup, or as a Seedorf backup (I ended up thinking he would be better in Pirlo's position). And then thinking about the strikers, well with Pato there till January, I also thought it was unfair to get another guy. So I was also thinking about the need for a winger, a wild card we can use as a surprise element, a guy that will help out in midfield and the forwards. And not only that, with a winger we can have so much more possibilities of different tactics, so that we don't end up in our main problem at the start of last season, being too predictable.
Yes. I'm thinking someone like Mendez in midfield and Quaresma or Quagliarella as an attacking winger. Probably, as Doni pointed out, A. had this idea before, but with adopting a 4-3-3 on a permanent basis. Since the more we continue to play the 4-4-1-1, the more we drift closer to a 4-3-3.

Unless maybe...just MAYBE....Grimi shows some class at Siena. Ah I'd love for that to happen.

Where does Darmian play ? :) ( Not sracastic but I really don't know)

Some young players of the primavera going to the first squad isn't bad for us but we also need to let them play because otherwise there is no point in letting them come.

For a good leftback : John Arne Riise but he will never leave Liverpool

For a winger I was also thinking of Quaresma but he is too selfish for Milan but Deco is on the market for 22 million, he could fit in to our squad.

I hope we don't go to the 4-4-1 , it worked in the Champions League but Kakà had to do almost all the attacking work, the 4-3-1-2 is far better in attacking prospect

Darmian is a huge talent. I don't know why everyone is pressuring to purchase defenders when we have about 12 in our squad. How is it going to be possible for a player like Darmian to show his true value?

The two chances he had last season to show his talent, he ended up making everyone else (including Grimi) look uber-talented.

I'm not sure where you're getting your opinion of his talent from, since I doubt uve actually watched many of his games. The two games I did watch gave me nothing in the way of hope for the future from him.

Hoping your opinion has a firmer base to it that B+G's sagging prides in our rather weak youth setup.

67min (both games mind you) not much of a chance to prove yourself. Especially when you are playing in one tornament which nobody, but Inter, care about and another in a match with a virtually a second string team.

You can actually watch Primavera matches (if you actually weren't aware). It's not everyday a 16 year old debuts for Milan... the last one being Maldini.

Yeah but its even easier to not concede a goal for just 23 minutes, which he failed to do rather spectacularly on one of the occasions. The other performance was characterized by lost headers and missed tackles.

On a completely serious note - do they actually show the primavera matches of milan in AUSTRALIA?!?
I doubt they do, and i'd find it hard to believe u stay up at 4 am to watch a primavera game on a crappy stream.
if you insist that the games are available there, and that you do in fact stay up to watch those, i'd still be pretty skeptical of it.
Hopefully the age factor means hes got MANY years ahead to improve. Based on what i saw he REALLY needs to, to be considered even for Simic's replacement.

Kaladze has really come into his own the past 2 seasons. personally I wouldn't mind this formation

------------------------------------Dida----------------------------------

--Oddo------------------Nesta----------------Kaladze-------------Maldini--

----------------Gattuso-----------Pirlo-------------Ambrosini--------------

-----------------------Seedorf---------------Kaka'------------------------

---------------------------------Ronaldo----------------------------------

or

-----------------------------------Dida-----------------------------------

--Oddo---------------Bonera------------------Nesta--------------Kaladze-

----------------------------------Pirlo------------------------------------

----------------------Gattuso-------------------Seedorf-------------------

-----------------------------------Kaka'----------------------------------

--------------------------Ronaldo-----------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------Gilardino---------------------

** I really liked the chemistry between Gilardino and Ronaldo at the end of last season. Gilardino played as the target man, and Ronaldo playerd as the second striker.
As for when Maldini is injured we can play Bonera in the middle, moving Kaladze as LB, where he can play very solidly. And when Maldini is healthy he can play at LB giving the best possible solution defensively, and a very big threat going forward. However we can also put Kaladze at LB and Maldini in the middle. Goucuff can replace Seedorf or Pirlo, and Brocchi can replace ambrosini or Gattuso. Seedorf can play in seedorf's position, or play as LB. I think we're pretty much set. I don't see us needing a big transfer season. Maybe another Midfielder and Left Fullback wouldn't hurt.

Which one are you refering to?... The one where Darmian got fouled and the goal was disallowed.

Actually radioactivenerd, I don't know whether you are up to date with the lastest technologies but there is this thing called a "satellite". It enables us to watch channels from foreign countries. I also have a friend from Italy who tapes some games and sends them over. So I actually have my fair share of viewing... do you?

I'm getting the vibe you don't.

Besides mate, don't ever question me about what hours I stay up to watch Milan play. I get up all forms in the morning despite what I have on the next day. You have absolutely no idea.

Disallowed after a bit too much confusion - -RAI even reported the score as 4-2. Regardless, the goal was entirely his mistake, and the contact was minimal - hes lucky that was given as a foul - it wont usually be, and he would need to clear those sort of balls. You can hide behind the foul, but the fact is that that was a TERRIBLE mistake by him, and hardly a foul.
Of course i realise that its just one isolated incident, but his game against Brescia wasnt exactly confidence inspiring either.

Thanks for the technology lesson. Even via satellite tv, everything isnt available everywhere. Anyway, it was a simple question, o jumpy one.

I had no doubt ud be up at any time of the day or night for a milan game - i think a lot of us would, but its fair to say that i wasnt expecting you to have access to a primavera game at all. I certainly dont, and satellite tv isnt the solution to everything.

PATO AND GILA: THE FUTURE

Then the Alexandre Pato chapter: “Yesterday’s impact? He was disoriented but happy,” said the Milan coach, “He had many visits, many checkups, he saw all of the structure, he saw many photos; I took him to see the photos of our history. It was a long visit because now there are many photos of our victories…Despite the age, he is already very mature. He managed well these days of pressure. After all, the pressure here will be toned down due to the fact that he will be able to insert himself gradually. There will be all the time for him to get to know the environment and there will be all the time for us to get to know him. In January he will be able to play straight away. Pato has a normal physical structure. He’s over 180cms tall and weights 78kgs. He is almost 18 years old, therefore he can develop a bit further his body structure. In any case he is not thin. I hope he becomes a player we can count on for the next years. Amongst the attackers, together with Gilardino, he can represent the future of Milan in the long-term. In theory he could play with us already from today. He could easily prove also in this squad the characteristics he has already shown.”

San Paolo and madtherchot I agree with the points you've made. I suspect that what you were pointing out San Paolo is that Darmian, Digao and Grimi if he comes back will be replacements for the departing Sergi, Maldini, Cafu, Favali and I think that's probably what our management is thinking. So hopefully they get some chances and take them with both hands. If not I think we should begin searching for some talents and bring them in Janauary to gel with the team.

Good point about the midfield as I think we need another option. Many games last season we lacked pace, drive and penatration. A quick, tricky player could be used as an impact player off the bench and do well for us. Plus we only have 8 mids for 4 or 5 spots depending on formation.

Pato could probably do this as he can play on the left and right also but he's only available in January.

When was the last time Milan produced a player 2 the world ?
Add Ancelotti 2 the equation & even if we had a talent he will ruin it.
Darmian , Digao & co = untalented player under a coach will never give em a chance 2 evolve so u 4get about em.

i lost faith in gila, he scores a lot (on my PES6) he has to prove himself this season, pato is a step forward for milan, but let's be honest, we're not doing a good job regarding the transfer market

Mad, I agree very very much with your post. I really don't get why, but I feel satisfied with what we have on defense (Nesta-Kaladze= world class partnership, Nesta-Maldini every 5 games=world class partnership, Bonera is a reliable backup -he was fundamental for us from December till March-, Simic is also a reliable backup, I can live with Marek-I know he isn't the best in the world defending, but he isn't as bad, Oddo only needs to work out his crosses-which were good back in Lazio-, Favalli is someone that will-hopefully-only play 10 matches in the whole season, and he is capable of, same goes for Serginho and Cafu). IMO I hate to say this but Digao is virtually there because of Kaka. That's what I reckon at this stage although I would like to watch him play before I make any further comment.

I can see Darmian being there for many years to come. There has been big raps placed on the kid. Grimi I thought did really well for the time he was given to play last season. TBH I can see another Donati, Donadel story with Grimi. He will be shipped off to other clubs on loan then eventually 3 seasons down the track we sell him to a team who gets promoted.

When Cafu, Serginho and Maldini retire... I believe Milan will push for some big names. Especially for Maldini's departure.

He's doing fine at Benfica. Scored in a friendly against a local team here.

Promising words from A. contrary to reports on other sites mentioning A. not being won over by Pato yet. Sounds like A. probably wanted Pato + must already know when and where to use him.

^^ If i remember correctly, Ancelotti had actually come out and asked for Pato at one point during the transfer season. He almost definitely has a plan in place for him, but he does realise that the entire plan will take one whole year before it can be truly effective.

Hes right about not being satisfied with just this one signing - it really isnt a signing he can 'use' this season. You cant expect a youngster to come into the team in jan and be effective in Europe and boost our Serie A campaign. And if we lag behind by dece, the serie a might already be lost.

If all our stikers stay fit, i think we are okwithout signing anyone else, but i cant see all of them staying fit till december.

Rui is 1 of biggest flop in Milan's history while Kaka did great as soon as he arrived @ Milan so Ancelotti didn’t really have much of a choice.
When Rui camer 2 Milan he was the best playmaker in the world & he just wasn’t the same with us.
I don’t blame u since back then u were like ………………. 12 ? :)
