I appreciate Nocerinos willingness to track back and still make those runs into the box, but he really is annoyingly unproductive. Sure, he tracks back, but does he tackle? No, for whatever reason he doesn't.
And while he scored a lot of goals this season, he is unable to create scoring chances for others. Being able to convert chances served to you on a silver platter isn't enough for a starting CM at Milan IMHO. Squad/rotation player yes, but regardless of his role in the squad he really needs to improve his tackling/defensive work. When you play Noce and an anchor you need one creative CM, thus Noce has to cover more defensive duties. Right now he can't/doesn't do that, which is one reason for this very unbalanced midfield we've seen for way too many games this season.

And I'm genuinely fearful for him being a starter next season...

Agreed, we are stocked on our bench guys - we need 2-4 studs to help Thiago and Ibra lead us somewhere.

Nocerino: "If Ibra is up for discussion? I must laugh. If he’s up for discussion, then I should leave!"

Nocerino: "Ibra is a phenomenon and you can’t question that. He has won everything and you can’t keep on discussing him every time."

Nocerino: "The Italian national team? In football nothing is certain. That’s for sure. At the moment I’m only thinking about the Scudetto."

Nocerino: "Like many others, I hope to be a part of the squad that goes to Euro 2012."

Nocerino: "I have to put in my best effort in these last 4 matches and then I will think about the Italian national team."

Nocerino: "I’m happy with my performances this season. I thank Allegri for making me able to express myself in the best possible way."

Ok.

let's really think about this, lets say we didnt make that final hour signing of the transfer market - and we didnt get Nocerino.

Where would we be? Let's all be realistic and judge his performances based on his position.

The second we see nocerino playing on the right, bring all your hattrick hopes back to earth, cos he isnt great on the right

Put him on the left... and you got a new player altogether

nocerino will unfortunately have to move to the right next season if he wants game time (assuming we make an actual legit signing that solves LCM problems for good) and if thats the case, then either a) he is gonna have to outperform this season and actually cover abate and b) also simultaneously challenge for his preferred LCM role so that we can see the better performances of him

but one thing that really made me love nocerino, not the fact that he tackles, but his mere position on the pitch whilst opposition has the ball cuts down options.

i love the guy, but i love milan more, and if we actually have a player that can outperform our #22 at his position, than he'd have to go watch games from the sidelines... but i have a feeling that his second season is gonna put this one to shame. Like Prince.

Should he deliver a Prince-like impact and create an aura of invincibility that T.Silva and Ibra have created, than trust me... most of you guys will grasp the fact that, its not only the goals that we love him for. Its his entire play

Does that mean right now I think he is capable to be in a starting XI of a CL-winning team for Milan. No. Can he prove to us that what we seen this season is gonna be a glimpse of what we might get used to in his 5 year contract? Yes

And he will.

*but abate needs to step it up - he had a beast 10/11 and seems a shadow of himself :(*

Nocerino: "Cassano is a champion and we're happy that he has returned."

Nocerino: "This has been a very unfortunate season with many injuries. I believe that with a full squad we're strongest team in the league."

Nocerino: "Seeing Cassano and Gattuso on the pitch again is worth more than a victory, because the health is the most important thing."

Nocerino: "I was happy to see Cassano and Gattuso on the pitch with us, and it's a great satisfaction for us."

Nocerino: "The squad is strong and united and nothing can bring us down. All the rumors that are circulating have no effect on us."

Nocerino: "I wanted to beat my personal record of 4 goals, but I never thought that I would score 10 goals in Serie A."

Nocerino: "My goal today is the result of hard work. Every day I train with champions who constantly give me advice."

Nocerino: "Even the goalkeepers here at Milan have advised me to aim high when I shoot, if the opponent's goalkeeper is very tall."

Nocerino: "I will be very happy if I get selected to participate in the Euro 2012. If I don't get selected then I will remain patient."

I dont understand how playing on the left-side makes him so much better!?

Is it just a coincidence that he hasn't scored recently while playing on the right?
