I wonder when he got injured in this match, I didn't notice anything. Seems we're in a situation like last year, we also had to change the keepers much because of injuries.
Really bad for Abbi, he was quite good in the last matches, I would say he got better again in the latest matches, so from this point of view the injury is at the wrong time.

On the other hand Amelia was great in pre-season, so it would be great to see him in official matches too and not just friendlies. If Abbi is out now for some longer then we will need Amelia at his best because we will face strong opponents soon.

+1 .Sucks for Abi but lets hope Amelia steps up.

Better news for Abbiati Monday 4 October, 2010

Christian Abbiati could be back in action immediately after the international break following the latest tests on his thigh strain.

It was feared that the Italian could be out of action for up to a month after picking up the issue in the 1-0 win at Parma on Saturday.

However, the former Azzurri goalkeeper underwent a fresh scan earlier today which ruled out significant damage.

Sources in Milan report that the Rossoneri medical staff are cautiously predicting that he will be sidelined for between 15 and 20 days.

Nevertheless, there is a belief that they may have him back in match condition for the Week 7 test against Chievo.

Marco Amelia, signed from Genoa in the summer, remains on stand-by though should he be required.

Yeah and I know this might seem dull but I was really awed with roma's performance in the gamper trophy, he was a god, would love to see him aggainst a low threat team

Shit bad news guys
Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati will not play against Real Madrid in the Champions League after suffering a strain to his abductor muscle in his right leg.

Sky Sport Italia claims the Italian goalkeeper strained his muscle during a training session and he is unlikely to start against the Spanish giants.

The gloves will got to second-choice Marco Amelia instead. He has not played for Milan in any competition this season, and thus faces a tough test at the Bernabeu.

There are still concerns over Thiago Silva. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims he is likely to start from the bench.

The Brazilian sustained an ankle problem against Chievo at the weekend, but coach Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make a decision on whether he plays before kick-off.

I hope Amelia does good, it must be hard to go in for Abbiati after these last matches where he had some real WC performance!

slow reactions! not even able to dive and being caught standing says it all. The ball wasnt even moving that fast. He should atleast been able to dive in the direction.

abbi. has deff. been on a decline as of late, and no reason that amelia shouldnt be starting..amelia is deserving of more chnaces then the 1 he was given in CL against Real..

Allegri owes it to the defence/team to play a more mobile Goal keeper to help the defence to keep it tight in the defensive 3rd. Only thing I am worried about is abbiatis distribution....(He knows the Milan way)

spot on..with our defense being solid at times, it can only help having a keeper that doesn't day dream during the match..he looks clueless at time between the posts..

He is great but not WC. Amelia is young for a keeper and has so much potential.

coach, wake up and use Amelia

Finally, we conceded so many goals recently without really given away many shooting chances.
It's a shame that we can never get all best 11 there just because of subjective reasons. Abate and Flamini should be in our start 11 long time ago, they are only there recently thanks to the injuries.
It should be coach's duty to find the best 11 not by fate's arrangement through injuries.

any coach that enters and rearranges everything from day one will cause anarchy and unrest. Allegri has transitioned slow enough for it all to be accepted without any major drama and still maintain us at a position to be at the top of the table, and alive in the UCL.
