Tuesday 18 October, 2011 Milan lose trio against BATE

Milan have an injury crisis on their hands against BATE Borisov, as Thiago Silva, Clarence Seedorf and Massimo Ambrosini are out.

The trio did not pass fitness tests during today’s final training session at Milanello.

Thiago Silva limped off during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Palermo, while Seedorf and Ambrosini missed that match completely.

Also out of the 20-man squad named by Coach Massimiliano Allegri are Gennaro Gattuso, Alexandre Pato, Mathieu Flamini and the ineligible Pippo Inzaghi and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Kevin-Prince Boateng returns after he was suspended against Palermo, while Mario Yepes and Philippe Mexes are also passed fit.

Milan squad: Abbiati, Amelia, Abate, Antonini, Bonera, De Sciglio, Mexes, Nesta, Taiwo, Zambrotta, Yepes, Aquilani, Boateng, Emanuelson, Nocerino, Van Bommel, Cassano, Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Ganz

100% sure the majestic bonera and zambrotta will start tom night.

It would be nice if we can win but zambrotta gets humiliated from the bate RW :o

Tempted to say Mexes but I have real doubts over his match fitness, so Yepes is the logical choice even though he's been out for a few weeks. Any starting lineup that doesn't consist of Bonera, Antonini and Emanuelson would please me.

---------------Abbiati---------------
--Abate--Nesta--Yepes--Tawio--
---Aquilani---Bommel---Nocerino---
------------------Prince----------------
----------Ibra---------------Binho------

Bench-Amelia, Zambro, Antonini, Mexes, Urby, Cassano, Ganz

Would have preferred to rest Bommel but cant with Dorf, Ambro, and Silva out. Cassano has been playing a lot w/ us and Italy, so he gets to rest and can be a potential super-sub. we dont have a lot of midfield players available, but in a pinch Antonini, Zambro, or Abate could move up, or Prince could move back.

Would like to see what Tawio can do, and would hopefully like to see Mexes get his debut and hopefully see Ganz get some minutes if we have a lead.

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
3 points the score line does not bother me but a clean sheet would be welcome with Silva out i hope Yepes plays > Bonera (who was decent against Palermo but i would still choose Yepes) If it is scrappy game so be it just get the three points end of.

watching all of the matches in group stages gives me hope that this year we can reach quarters and possibly semis. it's going to take a little luck but if dot have an injury crisis we should be able to hang with anyone. There are no 'invincible' teams- although Madrid and barca still look the deadliest.

Regarding this match- bate shouldn't be able to withstand our attack.. Let's do this.

Why? If anything the two should compliment each other.

I think Milan should play Prince as RCM, Aquilani as CDM and Nocerino as LCM. It'll kinda be like Gattuso, Pirlo and Seedorf but with Nocerino being better offensively, Aquilani being less of a defensive liability and Prince being less smart/able than Seedorf but better movement.

I think Van Bommel needs a rest.

Allegris plan was to rest MVB and play Seedorf but Seedorf isnt back yet so MVB will have to wait for that rest. Pretty sure he will play Aqui - Seed - Noce against Lecce.

I have to agree. Milan have a good chance this year mostly because the english teams isnt as powerful as a few years ago. I am more afraid of Bayern München than Man United.

That line-up looks very good!

Forza Allegri!

I hope Boateng has a great match along with Aquilani!

I really like the look of that midfield and hope Allegri sticks with it.

I follow those three players being (sort of) logical alternatives for them, though all three at the same times makes it seem riskful. Instead of Nocerino playing along Antonini on the left side, thus covering for him, and Thiago Silva and left-centre defender to cover leftback position, it's Boateng (who is a poor defender) covering for Taiwo (attacking fullback), and Bonera as last cover (hmmzz)... let's see how that works out. Taiwo and Boateng are fast players though, so discipline is needed and then it should be okay, and it could work very well.

I hope Nocerino doesn't start because of being rested, because he shouldn't nor doesn't deserve to get benched by Boateng.

I would say it everytime. Antonini to be starter for Milan. Milan loves him, Allegri loves him, I love him.

I rather Taiwo start. I want to see if he is as great as people said when he played on France League. I think he needs to control his emotions when defending because he seems sometimes reckless. Antonini starting? Nice efforts against Palermo; however, there is a difference when the other team attack Milan.
Anyways, Forza Milan.

Nocerino was awfull in all the games he played bar Palermo. Boateng did more for us, it would be nice to test this one against a team like Bate.

It is true that he played good as an LCM against Palermo. But besides that game he was awfull.

Imo Boateng deserves a starting spot waaaay more then Nocerino does.

Very nice line up, looking forward to seeing KPB and Taiwo combine forces on that left flank :)

Hopefully Milan can entertain the fans tonight and score 3 or more like how it was last weekend.
