CATANIA-MILAN: AYROLDI WILL REF
1/14/2008
MILAN - It will be Nicola Ayroldi of Molfetta to direct the Coppa Italia second leg game Catania-Milan (first leg 2-1 for Catania), scheduled for Wednesday night. These are the other designations: Juventus-Empoli: Gervasoni; Fiorentina-Ascoli: Lops; Sampdoria-Cagliari: Velotto; Roma-Torino: Dondarini; Palermo-Udinese: Russo; Inter-Reggina: Salati; Napoli-Lazio: Mazzoleni.

It's the second leg game. We lost the first leg 2:1, but there was no PATO !!! :D

Of course... :D

Indeed I don't think Ronnie will play this match. We should keep him safe for Udinese.
For real...the last thing I want to read is a headline that says "Ronaldo scores hattrick but out injured with receeding hairline for Udinese" :D

Agreed this should be a game that Gila & Pato should get the start. No matter how the game is going, take Pato out at the half and put in Paloschi, the kid needs to be fresh for Udinese.

That's a six pointer. A Fiorentina draw and a win by us in the up coming league matches puts us in a great position to steal that fourth spot.

(Those games in hand are HUGE)

*Also it may be a blessing in disguise that we actually are playing these games now...when Pato is available & Ronaldo is fit.

Please pick a CB Berlu & Galiani.

One last note - Bonera may be the most under rated & least talked about member of our team and definately our defense. He has it in him to be a Nesta, Zambrotta, Maldini type defender. The kid is really good and does little things to save our backsides all the time.

BONERA IS THE SHIZ NIT...keeping being one of the anchors in our defense!!!

Bring on Paloschi!!!!!!!!!!!!
More angry youngsters will motivate our veterans.
Altough i heard Seedorf has already complained about moving back to midfield from attack because of Pato.
Once you get closer to table is hard to stay away, huh Clarence?

Anywho,we must win this one for sure,to show our stregnth in every competitions.
Forza Milan!!!!!!!Forza Pato!!!!!!!

All Milan, all River Plate, Aimar, Saviola, Montenegro, Lugano,
Pirlo will prob play this game, taking in consideration that he won't be available for Udnese

I don't think that we should play with the best formation we have because we have a lot of games to encounter and it may be a good idea to let this cup go to relief our squad from a good number of matches, we already have all the Serie A matches ,which we have to win almost all of them and we're including the 3 matches we have in hand, and the CL matches
I don't want the players to be on an empty tank at the end, let alone the middle of this time with a lot of important matches

This is a game for all the players that play less to get some action and hopefully play well, in my view the result is not massively important. I think climbing the table and finishing in the top 4 should be the number 1 aim even above the Champions League. History shows that a team has never won the Champions League twice in a row and although Milan can win, it is unlikely.

I feel Milan have managed this season well up until now, with the two trophies and also good Champions League form. The only problem being home form in Serie A, due to a lack of firepower. Going for the two trophies that have already been won and making them essential was a good idea in my book.

This game isn't important anymore, we're already out with the 1-2 score in San Siro... + Catania beat Juventus this weekend (I don't count the Ladri penalty they received as usual in extra time), so is it worth it to risk injuries right before a much more important match at Udinese and tire Pato and Kaka ?

We must absolutly win this game but not with the regulars: Let's start with Gila, Emerson, Gourcuff, Cafu....... and tell them: YOU WANNA PLAY MORE? THEN WIN THIS GAME!!!

THE ONE should be rested for this game or at least till the 70 mn of the game.

I doubt we'll see Pato start or even play in this match. It's been said the Coppa is our last priority so its obvious we'll rest some stars especially with the important games we have this month alone.

----------------Kalac-----------------
---Oddo---Simic----Digao----Favalli------
-----Brocchi-----Pirlo------Gattuso------
---------------Gourcuff-----------
----------Gilardino------Paloschi--------

Pirlo being suspended for the next Serie A match means he could start. Gattuso hasn't played in a competitive match since the Derby so he'll more than likely play to get some minutes under his belt. The likes of Cafu+Serginho could possibly also be seen in this match at some time, hopefully in a more advanced role.

Who cares about Coppa Italia... I hope none of the following play:

Ronaldo
Kaka
Pato
Seedorf
Pirlo
Nesta
Maldini
Ambrosini
Gatusso
Kaladze

They should all take a rest and focus on Serie A instead. We couldn't care less if we go through or not. If the substitutes can do it, then good for them, but there's no need to risk injuries for our starters.

hum ... the new formula for cl maybe, but several team won it 2 or plus years in a row : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ligue_des_Champions_de_l'UEFA (french)
For this game we should play subs cause it's up to them to make us win if thety won't to play more, if they can't win that means that they don't deserve a place in the first team (or at least most of them) ...
Forza Milan anyway.

Carletto prepares the reserves Tuesday 15 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan must reverse a 2-1 deficit in Catania to progress from the last 16 of the Coppa Italia, but Carlo Ancelotti won’t be sending in his strongest side.

A second-string Rossoneri side lost 2-1 at San Siro in the first leg, but Serie A remains the priority and Carletto is set to turn to his reserves once more tomorrow night.

“We don’t want to take any risks in this game so the players who are starting on Sunday will be staying at home,” the Diavolo boss revealed.

Youth team hitman Alberto Paloschi was the hero for Milan in the first meeting between the sides when he hit the net to reduce the arrears.

“Alberto Gilardino will be in attack and Paloschi will start alongside him if I opt for two strikers.

“Andrea Pirlo will be there and the players that didn’t play against Napoli like Massimo Oddo, Marcos Cafu and Gennaro Gattuso. Marek Jankulovski may be playing a half.

“It won’t be easy to get through, but we will try.”

All the recent Press has focused on Alexandre Pato’s dream debut against Napoli and there is speculation that Gilardino’s days at the club could be numbered.

“We need to introduce Pato gradually,” Ancelotti warned. “He had a good game but we need to teach him how to play in this team.

“Gilardino will get games and he will be useful. He is like Pippo Inzaghi in that way. We need to get the most out of all our four strikers.

“Gilardino knows that Milan will keep the faith in him for a long time and he doesn’t have to see every game as an exam – that would be a mistake.”

maybe we should give more attention to the cup since we give up from scudeto and CL isn't sure than we will do soething there but also there's no need to spend too much energy in Cup, but players like Gourkuf & Brochi should decide in these matches

CATANIA-MILAN: THE 21 CALLED-UP ROSSONERI PLAYERS
1/15/2008
MILAN - Here is the official list of Rossoneri players called up for the Coppa Italia away match at Catania:

GOALKEEPERS - Fiori, Kalac and Offredi (shirt number 30); DEFENDERS - Bonera, Cafu, Digao, Favalli, Oddo, Simic, Ruggeri (no.45) and Romagnoli (no.46); MIDFIELDERS - Brocchi, Emerson, Gattuso, Gourcuff, Pirlo, Caraglia (no.39) and Guerci (no.40); ATTACKERS - W.Aubameyang, Gilardino and Paloschi (no.43).

CATANIA-MILAN: THE ROSSONERI'S FORMATION
1/15/2008
MILANELLO - This is the formation that Milan will field tomorrow night at Catania: Kalac; Oddo, Digao, Simic, Favalli; Cafu, Gattuso, Emerson, Brocchi; Gourcuff; Gilardino.

Looks as if we'll line up with 4-4-1-1. Jankulovski will probably play a half. Pirlo should also play because he's not available for Sunday's match against Udinese. Paloschi should also make an appearance it seems. Pretty strong team considering IMO and we should be able to get the desired result to go through.

Like to see Guerci and off course Aubameyang and Paloschi play.
Maybe I would have started them however, the cup might get important to us to cover up our drame season in Italy
