Not to sound petty, but to think that some loons automatically assumed that he was staying solely for contract reasons.
He isn't? Nobody wanted him?

Damn I just watched the first Euroderby of 2005. He was freaking superman that match barring Mihajlovic and Veron's free-kicks.

he is staying here for contact reasons, but the more important reason in my opinion is that he wants to prove himself again and earn back his no1 spot in the team, and to be remembered in a better way..
if he left now,the first thing most people would think of when he is mentioned is that act against celtic,or the gift against inter, and that would be stupid considering that he was (for me at least) the best GK in the world just a few seasons ago..

i hope he can start playing well again because he could be crucial in our scudetto race..

There's no question how much he has given the club and what a brilliant keeper he has been before. I can understand us giving him another season, but him + Kalac? Both are at the end of their careers and the management would have done better to find a worthy Dida-replacement in this upcoming season of rebuilding. Nevertheless, all I can do now is wish him the best + hope he goes against the odds by equaling his previous performances.

Dida’s Wages Preventing Milan Sale
According to reports in Italy, Milan are absolutely desperate to sell Nelson Dida, but are finding it an impossible task due to the goalkeeper’s astronomical wages.

Dida’s 2007/08 season with the Rossoneri was nothing short of disastrous, and there have been constant reports in the press that he will be sold this summer.

The first half of the Brazilian’s campaign was ridden with errors, including a costly one in the Milan derby before Christmas. The 34-year-old eventually lost his place to Zeljko Kalac in January, and did not feature again for the remainder of the campaign.

This coming campaign, Dida looks likely to be third choice goalkeeper behind Kalac and the returning Christian Abbiati.

With this in mind, it is being reported in Italy that Milan have no space for the 34-year-old and are absolutely desperate to offload him from their wage bill.

Unfortunately, the club are finding it impossible to find a buyer because Dida currently earns an astronomical €4.5m a season, with his contract at San Siro running until 2010.

If the Rossoneri were to release Dida on a free transfer it could cost them a small fortune in compensation. Thus Milan find themselves in a sticky situation over what exactly to do with the former Cruzeiro man.

Goal.com really likes to recycle their stories don't they?

But honestly, if Carlo isn't planning on using him, Dida's getting a huge amount of cash for doing nothing.

We should loan him out and at least get another club to play like part of his wages... loan him to a Brazilian club.

These articles on Dida are just recycled rubbish, let him train hard & show some of his old form over the next 2 years.

Yeah, but I'd like to know when the hell he's going to play again. He needs game time to get back into form and he's not getting it.

He is ment to be doing specialist training so all his injuries don't crop up again.

If he's fully recovered from his injuries, he should be given the same chance as Abbiatti and Kalac.

Didaster... lol... you fool you made me nearly choke on some food! That's one of the best nicknames I heard... even better than butterfingers... :D lol...

Seriously, I don't want Dida between the goal posts... that would ensure early exit out of the UEFA Cup and end of our race for the Scudetto.

even if carlo decides to use him he is getting insane wages and he clearly knows it. He might as well sit next 2 seasons through relaxed. And to think he didnt want to sign new contract that we were so desperate to give him 2 seasons ago... jeez.

Dida remains worse than Kalac, and that is self explanatory.
He will never see the pitch again.

Don't know about the regular season, but he will see it again Saturday against Man City.

We'll see guys. We'll see how he does against Man City.

I'll save judgment till then.

But right now, you know who my first choice is. He's not Aussie.

Never heard of him before our supposed interest and "signing". I suppose he could be better than Kalac, but that's not really saying much.

I'm glad that Dida will get the chance for the friendly against Man City. Hopefully he can prove himself to Carletto again and make Kalac 3rd choice goalie :)

Yes, Kalac as 3rd choice. Sanity has been restored.
