Apparently Conte resigned after seeing Pippo's training videos.

Inzaghi: Our training sessions are intense but the aim is to have enough gas in the tank for the entire season. The decisions made are always made together.

Now that Montolivo is injured we'll probably end up playing either
a 4-2-3-1 with
De Jong Muntari (Poli)
Menez Honda El Shaarawy (Saponara)
Balotelli (Pazzini)

or a 4-3-3
Honda(Poli) De Jong Muntari
Menez (Honda) El Shaarawy (Saponara)
Balotelli (Pazzini)

Poli will either be a wild card since he can switch either with the right CM or the right winger ... or if we end up selling De jong, he'll have to step up and play in his place

Both formations will depend a great deal on how good Honda Menez El Shaarawy and Balotelli play. Especially if we sell Robinho, I think loaning Birsa was a mistake ... it will be doubtful that we'll find another decent AM backup with a 600k salary.

Cristante and Saponara remain the unknown.

Doesn't really seem like Inzaghi has given any indication of wanting to employ a 4-2-3-1, has he? I may have missed something since training began, but everything seemed to hint toward a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 at this point. I think Inzaghi knows better than to use a 4-2-3-1 with our options in the midfield AND since we don't have a capable AM (Honda has shown nothing).

4-4-2 if we sign someone like Ljajic would be awesome I think.

Too many unknowns so far:

- Zaccardo
- Zapata
- Balotelli
- Binho
- Essien
- Niang
- Cristante (I think he is injured)
- Saponara (so far proving himself but depends on Pippo's evaluation)
- DeJong
- Mexes
- Abate
- Albertazzi
- Honda (marketing wise speaking he will not be sold)

He has no chance with this roster. He is being setup to fail. Just like seedorf. They expect great things, but give him rejects and also-rans for players.

Hmm... When you say "He has no chance with this roster." you should know that Seedorf was 4th in Serie A for points in second half of the season, while with the same team Allegri finished 3rd in 2012-13.

Massimo Giletti, a friend of Conte’s: Conte had an agreement with Milan and Juventus didn’t like that. I think that is one of the many reasons behind this split, including tension after three years of success and the desire to try a new experience. He knew it would be difficult to win again with the same team.

So Conte could come to Milan after 6 month of Inzaghi. Just saying...

I hope Inzaghi will do well.

And how did Allegri do with that roster the first half of the season? The team is full of inconsistent players that can't compete with the top teams.

Inzaghi has cancelled the afternoon training session and has instead given the players the rest of the day off.

Sack him.

So...

Allegri coming from a season finishing 2nd and having an entire season to recover from an awful start and finish 3rd is better than Seedorf coming in when we're 15th, have just lost 4-3 to the bottom team and him having the 4th/nearly 3rd best form of the league?

did i said that allegri was better than seedorf?

i just said that milan can finish 4th this season even with this team, if inzaghi works good.

Very true about Seedorf, though Berlusconi had bigger problems with how the team was playing and his locker room management.

Considering our players, 4-3-3 is the most likely formation but I wouldn't discard 4-2-3-1 for the simple reason that it fits our current players better than a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-1-2. It might not get used a lot but if Inzaghi plans to get the best out of our current players (as he said), he'll definitely consider it.

Also a 4-3-3 can very easily morph into a 4-2-3-1 if Honda is given freedom to move between midfield and attack
