Well, he is probably too small for being CB
but he kept taking balls from defenders and passing them further, something Montolivo does. He played really smart, intercepting passes, a lot of great tackles also. Such a beast

Yea, noticed that in this game, whenever Mexes wore his playmaker hat and started pushing forward he would come all the way back next to Zapata ... As if he was saying " come on man, dont leave Zapata here alone, you know glaucoma and narcolepsy kick in from time to time"
And that could explain the clean sheet
But yeah, he's been amazing...and the number of rounds of applause he received during this game

I'm not gonna compare de jong to gattuso as there is no comparison .de jong has far better touch and athleticism but gattuso what he lacked in these made up for in absolute heart .with gattuso you knew what you were always gonna get and in truth this team would be lucky to have both playing.
de jong is by far our best performer this season.the game against samp was a great game from him and not only did he boss the midfield but no yellow card !!.this is the best news

it's unbelievable how fucking good he is,especially after what happened with him last season.If there is a "skill rating" for defensive duty's de jong would be 5 star,his displays are very pleasing to the eye

I can't find words to describe him. First, second and third name on the team sheet. He loves to defend, its brilliant. The consistency and impact of his play is invaluable to our team. You could sign world class defensive midfielders and centre backs but none would radiate the security and protect our team's core like De Jong does.
I feel privileged watching him take our team to the next level. His distribution of the ball too... wow. Gives our team personality and I'm just so damn glad we signed him. Work ethic a mere mortal can only dream of... I wish Nigel De Jong the best of times in everything he does.

Yeah. Atm it is him and also Poli(IMO) who are the only ones who've showed some kind of solidness.

People tend to judge De Jong just because of that flykick against Xabi in South Africa, and therefore don't see his briliance on the pitch.

yes i admit i had an unfavorable opinion of him originally based on that incident
but once he joined milan, it was impossible not to appreciate him as an athlete when you see all the good qualities and experience he brings with him to the club
it was a case of being glad to be wrong!
