Allegri: Scudetto or the sack…
By Football Italia staff

Reports in Italy are gathering pace that Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is fighting to save his job.

The 44-year-old only signed a new deal at the club until June 2014 in January, but there is the belief that Allegri could be shown the door at the end of the season.

Allegri has become the latest boss to be criticised by demanding President Silvio Berlusconi for the way his side play football.

Stories over the past few days are suggesting that Berlusconi will be tempted to make a change should Milan fail to retain the title.

Fabio Capello has been linked with a possible director’s role at the outfit, with some also pairing him as a direct replacement for Allegri.

Ex-Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta, Zenit boss Luciano Spalletti, Dutch legend Marco Van Basten and even Barcelona tactician Pep Guardiola are being linked too.

Allegri, who has reportedly had some problems this term with a number of the side’s senators, does seem to have the backing of Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

Meanwhile, the club, via a note on their website, have underlined that Milan have collected 150 points under the former Cagliari tactician.

Allegri netted 82 points in 2010-11, while they have 68 so far this term with five League games to go.

In the same period of time, Juventus have collected 129 points, Inter 125, Lazio and Napoli 121, Udinese 118 and Roma 109.

Milan are currently second in the championship, three points behind Juventus.

Its so sad that he has to fight for his job, while in reality its the fault of the medical-team and the management (mainly Berlusconi). But its always easier for a management to say its the fault of the coach than its the fault of the team and do something about it.

It's Italy, no surprises. Coach come and go.
There's no such thing like SAF here.

Considering all the facts, Allegri has only one formation, is unable to change things, and with his errors in subs/selections has cost us the league in all probability.

Carlo at chelsea was similar, did the double, sacked soon after. Someone more experienced and with a big game mentality is needed. not some mid table coach.

It what you get for being a "yes man". B & G hires a coach who they know will agree to everything they do, they gives him a mediocre squad, they expect miracles and when the squad fails to win anything the manager job security is in jeopardy. Carlo went through this during his later years, Leo and now Allegri. If he is fired, it is just an ongoing cycle.

If I were any coach link with a Milan job, I wouldn't take the job without full control with a set budget (about 30-50 mil a season) in my contract clause.

before yall say anything, just consider the fact that he had to play with muntari as his playmaker, our slowest CBs against one of the deadliest counter-attacking strikers in the league AND a totally stressed out, unmotivated squad.

Fuck you Allegri.Coach that can't motivate team and this is happening since Barca's game.Coach that don't give Maxi chance who is really showing his will and determination in every game that he has played.Player that didn't has any wrong pass since he came in.Coach that defend result with team like Genoa who play with 10 men.Berlusconi is right that don't like him.We are playing awful football right now.Allegri next year go and coach some other team.

Fucking sucks.

We played like shit, and as usual when we need a goal he just throws all of our attackers out there and hopes for a lucky goal.

His tactics are okay, but when they are working so well he shits his pants and doesnt know what the hell to do.

Cassano-Zlatan-KPB has all the potential in the world, to be better than any attack in the world. And yet, look at our luck. Have they started even a single game together this season? It's unbelievable.

We really don't need to buy a starting attacker if these 3 are fit and raring to go next season.

These are professional effing athletes with a CHAMPIONSHIP on the line. If they can't self-motivate, then that's a SERIOUS problem of entitlement that comes directly from the top.

The only difference between Allegri and AVB is that Allegri is winning. AVB tried to change the culture in the dressing room and get rid of the complacency and the entitlement.

Do you really think Clarence Seedorf wants to win so badly that he walked away and threw a temper tantrum because he wasn't helping the club? Bullshit.

If Allegri seriously cannot adopt more than 1 fucking formation, we are seriously going to be in trouble next season. Even the shit teams this year know how to play against Milan - seeing as how we've played with pretty much the same formation for the entire season.

If you've read any of my posts you know that I'm an Allegri fan - bit if he can't think of more than one way to assemble 11 damn players on the field, I will renounce my support for him!

Since they're playing...does Mourinho change from his 4-2-3-1?

The difference is that Allegri does not have the players to run his system. Here's how you defeat Milan...beat the piss out of Ibrahimovic, let their midfield run for ages as they can't complete a pass, and allow the second striker to roam free.

Consider that since Silva has been out, who is our leading everything, our tailspin has begun.

AC Milan News ‏ @Milanello

Allegri: "We’re working on using Emanuelson as a left back and maybe he will be able to play there next season." @Urby28

Allegri: "We're not playing as well as we did one month ago, but the numbers are good. Ibra has scored 24 goals" -->--> "and the midfielders have also scored."

Allegri: "Unfortunately the injuries have made the difference this season. Boateng has barely played and Cassano has also been out."

Allegri: "I have faith in all the teams that play against Ladri. I believe that something will happen."

Allegri: "When Ladri have mathematically won, then they will get the Scudetto, but until then we will keep on fighting."

Allegri: "The rumors about my future don't annoy me. They only make me smile."

Allegri: "Genoa should have had a penalty, but there was also half a penalty on Ibra. And we have also been unlucky other times."

Allegri: "But there's no point in talking about the referees. We should all help the referees."

Allegri: "I hate saying it, but there is an incident that has affected the league so far - and that's Muntari's disallowed goal."

Allegri: "The error on Muntari's goal has been decisive so far. Perhaps there are some who don't like hearing it, but it's a fact."

Allegri: "After the great effort that players put in, we needed to make some changes that we weren’t able to make due to injuries."

Allegri: "The only thing that I can do is give suggestions to the players, the coach is chosen by the club."

Allegri: "Berlusconi called me on the evening before the game as he always does. He said that he still believes in the Scudetto."

Allegri: "And Berlusconi also said that he hopes that Juve will lose some points."

Allegri: "We have to apply more pressure on the opponents, which we didn't do in the first half today."

Allegri: "In the 2nd half the players were more courageous, but it's understandable that they have some fear after 2 negative home results."

Allegri: "At the moment I can only thank the players for what they’re doing, because they’re keeping the championship alive."

Allegri: "I’m happy with what Cassano is doing and I’ll try and give him to Prandelli with 95 minutes in his legs."

Allegri: "I’m sure Cassano will be important for Italy and that he will have great Euro 2012."
